Google Pixel 5a Vs Google Pixel 4! (Comparison) (Review) By Simple Alpaca

Come back everyone, let's go ahead and do a comparison between the Google Pixel 5a and the Google Pixel 4 and see which one you should go and pick up. Now surprisingly, the pixel 4 is cheaper in the used market. So keep that in mind, I don't even think you can buy this phone brand new. At least. Maybe you can get a certified refurbished, but if you want to pick up either one of these phones links will be down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel. At the same time, now, starting off with the front, the pixel 4 had that 5.7 inch 1080p panel, and it was a pretty good-looking phone. You know.

I thought it looked pretty good overall, of course, with the later generations they kind of kept the same type of panel, but I think you know with that little notch. Up top, it's not a notch. It's just like the bezel with a little bezel on the bottom. It still looks pretty good. I don't think it looks that bad, but it does have that 90hz panel, which is something that the pixel 5a doesn't have.

The 5a has a bigger 6.34 inch panel, and it's also a 1080p panel. Now you do have a hole punch display on the pixel 5a, which I think looks pretty good, but definitely when you look at both the 5a, I think, is a better looking phone, it's a much bigger phone as well, but that pixel 4 with that 90 hertz panel does make it a little of a better panel. In my opinion, but both are good. I don't have any problems with either. One of these the 5a is better because I, like it bigger you know I like a bigger phone, but the pixel force panel is actually the better one, USB type c on the bottom.

The 5a does have a headphone jack, which is pretty cool and on the back, you had this rubberized map, texture on the pixel 4 and apparently the pixel 5a also has the same thing, but I do like the pixel 4's back a little more. I feel like that phone just felt a little better and just felt more premium. Overall, it definitely feels a lot more premium. The pixel 5a doesn't feel cheap, but it is one of those things that when you pick up that phone you're like oh, like it, doesn't feel as premium as something even like a pixel 5. You know, I think the 5 looks feels a little more premium, but both of these phones don't look that bad.

They both look almost identical, which is so funny and in the corners you actually do have those camera setups, which we might as well hit on right now and the pixel 4 had a dual camera setup. You got a 12.2, megapixel, wide angle lens, then a 16 megapixel telephoto lens with that pixel 5a has that 12.2 megapixel wide angle lens and a 16 megapixel ultrawide sensor. Now you can do 4k 30 on both, but surprisingly, you can actually do 4k 60 on the pixel 5a. So that is a pretty big advantage that you have on a phone like that. So, even on a cheaper phone, you know per release you're getting a better camera.

Technically speaking, so that's a massive thing. When the pixel 4 came out, my biggest concern have been the biggest complaint, was the telephoto lens and also no 4k 860. With the phone that prides itself on this. You know camera it's one of its biggest features. They really drop the ball on that specific phone with the 5a.

I think it's a pretty big step up from the pixel 4 in terms of a camera stand up, at least on the back. The front cameras are almost identical, though 8 megapixels, sensors 1080p at 30, so your pretty much getting the same exact camera on both. So there's really not that big of a difference there, but I'm a fan of both these cameras. I'm a fan of you know the pixel camera as a whole genre, but I really do think with the pixel 5a you're, getting a better camera setup, which is a massive thing to keep in mind. So, in terms of a camera standpoint that pretty much covers it up between these two now another pretty big advantage for the pixel 5a is the software.

You know you're getting probably longer lasting support on the pixel 5a than the pixel 4. Now I am totally unsure whether the pixel 5a is going to match the pixel 5 or the pixel 6. It came. You know it was released very close to the pixel 6, but it has the same chipset as the pixel 5. So again I don't know which one is, which I don't know what's going to last, but I do know one thing: it is going to outlast the pixel 4.

The 4a is probably going to match the four. The five is probably going to match the five, maybe that's how they're doing it so when it comes down to both of these, the pixel 5a is going to outlast the pixel 4, but because these are pixel phones, they're stock android, you are still getting a perfect amount of software on these phones and google, I think, is very close to actually announcing their you know. Maybe they're going to support their phones for a little longer. So I think that's going to be a great thing, but between both I mean you can't really go wrong with either these theater stock android, but they also have custom ROM support, which is another pretty big advantage, and that's why I mean picking up a Google. Pixel is probably one of the best things you could do at least on the android side, you're getting stock versions of android you're, getting you know like a long supported phone, but on top of that you have the ability, at some point of its lifetime to custom ROM it.

You know once there's a good supply of custom ROMs out there. That is one of the best things you can do in my opinion. So without a doubt, that is something I always look forward to with these devices but easily one of my favorite things about the pixel 5a and why it's such a good phone over the pixel 4 is that battery size in the pixel 5a is a 4 680 William hour battery, where the pixel 4 is a 2 800 William hour battery. That is a massive size battery on the pixel 5a. That's quote: unquote a budget phone at 449 dollars I mean the pixel 4 was, I think, almost twice that price.

When it first came out so with the pixel 5a, you were getting a massive size battery, it's going to completely outlast the pixel 4, and I'm going to tell you without a doubt. I mean you're, not even getting a 90 hertz panel. It isn't supremely under powered but you're. Getting you know, stock software, so not a lot of bloatware. The pixel 5a is going to last you for as long as you wanted to it's a very good phone and without a doubt it's one of the most impressive things about that specific device.

In my opinion, now with the pixel 4 still good, you know software is good and everything, but you are getting a better phone overall on the pixel 5a in terms of software and battery life, without a doubt now that covers it up there. Now, let's go and hit on the specific speed aspects between both these phones. Now the pixel 4 has that Qualcomm snapdragon 855 chipsets an outscore CPU and arena 640 GPU and six gigs of ram on the two different models that it came out with now. The pixel 5a has that Qualcomm snapdragon g chipset not to core CPU arena, 620 GPU and six gigs of ram as well. Now I'm going to tell you from firsthand experience between both these phones.

The performance aspect of a pixel, you know, is definitely an interesting thing. It's not always like the best performing phone of that year. There are phones, like you know, with the pixel 5a, I feel like phones like the galaxy s21, and those type of phones are still very, very good without a doubt, but I do think that you know with phones like the pixel 5a. It's a stock, android phone- you don't have a lot of stuff going on in the background, and that is something that I always look forward to with a phone like this. You don't have to worry about all that bloatware in the background and all that crazy stuff, because you know this phone.

Neither of these phones actually had that much bloatware, which is amazing. Now the four was a perfect performing phone. When it first came out, I still think it's pretty good. You know, like I mentioned, that 90hz panel really helps smooth a lot of things out. It makes me happy about the pixel 6, because, if it's any faster than this phone, it's going to have a lot of capability, it's going to be a very smooth phone at 120 hertz.

Hopefully now with the pixel 5a, I don't know if it's faster, you know, I wouldn't say it's a faster feeling phone than the pixel 4, and that mostly has to do with. I think that chipset inside, but also that 90hz refresh rate, really does add a little more character to that device. It makes it feel that much smoother, and maybe it's an android 11 things I don't know, but I do think the pixel 5 is the faster phone, but the pixel 4 feels faster because of that 90hz panel. So that is a massive thing to keep in mind. The ram management is going to be about the same because they have the same amount of ram but speed aspect.

I'll tell you, I don't think I would pick up either one of these phones because of their speed. I think if you're looking at the pixel 4 the pixel 5a upgrading to a pixel 5a, you know maybe a little of a speed improvement, but the pixel 4 feels like it's faster because of the 90 hertz panel and that's probably the best way. Furthermore, I can kind of sum it up. So in terms of that that covers it up there and to kind of sum up this video and say answer the question: should you go and buy a pixel 5a, or should you go and buy a pixel 4. ? Well, this is what I'll tell you.

You know, I think, with a phone like the pixel 5a, it's a perfect phone. You really can't go wrong with that specific device. I think it's a great phone for the time being, and I think it's still a perfect phone for the foreseeable future. Now it's not perfect. So that's another thing that we want to do and with the phone like the pixel 4, I mean it's not perfect either you know, I will tell you if you have a pixel 4 going to a 5a, it may actually be more of an upgrade that you GMAT than you may think.

You know in some areas the pixel 4, you know, has a 90hz panel, and it has stock android. I think those are the main advantages, but the pixel 5a has stock android. The only thing it's lacking is 90 yards panel, other than that it is an upgrade in pretty much every other area. You're getting you know, kind of faster chipset, maybe like barely if, even if it's equal performance, you're getting a bigger screen, which is nice you're, getting a headphone jack, which is really cool you're. Getting a much bigger size battery so 4680-hour battery you're getting longer lasting support, potentially, and you're, getting it at a cheaper price tag in the brand-new market than a brand-new pixel 4.

So I'm going to tell you the pixel 5a is a much better deal. I think the pixel 4 is still a good phone and everything, but when it comes down to both of these, I think I would rather have a pixel 5a than a pixel 4 in my opinion, so that pretty much covers it up.
