Google Pixel 4A 5G | Unboxing & First Impressions By [Sic]Erik TV

How's it going YouTube sick, Eric back again with another video. Yes, we got another video, and we also got another device in the house. Today I decided to pick up the Pixel 4a.5 g see this right here: pixel 4 a5g. Oh, she wouldn't blow that up or whatever Pixel 4a 5g. Now uh. I was kind of hoping to get the pixel 5, but it never came on T-Mobile Pixel 4a 5g is on T-Mobile, and actually this one got a little better reviews than the pixel 5 did just because this one's cheaper, and it has pretty much the same cameras on there and uh just overall, a really, really great device.

The last pixel phone I had been a pixel 4, uh XL, and that was of course, quite some time ago that phone was okay. Battery life was horrible. This one apparently got better battery uh reviews- and you know things like that. So I'm very excited about this. Picked it up on T-Mobile, just not too long or like an hour ago, literally picked this up at my local T-Mobile store, so we're gonna just do an unboxing and see what comes in a box if anything at all.

Nowadays, who knows, but we're gonna, does an unboxing. Take a look at the phone go over some specs and things like that of the Pixel 4a 5g, so very excited. That being said, let's go ahead and dive and jump into the Pixel 4a unboxing T-Mobile variant. Let's go all right, so here we go with the unboxing of the Pixel 4a 5g.

Let's see what comes in the box and uh charlie, try to uh go over some specs, really quick for you guys. You get a 6.2 inch 1080p display it is an OLED display. So that's really, really nice 16 megapixels uh camera. I believe the main camera is a 12 megapixel and the ultra-wide is a 16 megapixel. Camera front facing camera is going to be an 8 megapixel camera, not much on the box other than all your info right here.

But of course this does come in just the just black uh version right here: 128 gigabytes of internal storage, six gigabytes of ram, I believe, yeah, six gigabytes of ram and uh very basic uh specs, but this is going to be a really, really nice phone. Hopefully, like I said this phone got better uh reviews than the actual pixel 5 and so very, very excited about this battery. I believe it does have a 38 8, 500 William hour battery with 18 watt fast charging. So hopefully battery life is pretty good, but I have no doubt usually: Google has pretty good battery life on their phones. Their UI does not really take up much of a battery hit right there.

So let's go ahead and get the knife here and crack it open. I thought there'd be little tips on here. There are little pull tabs on here, so that's good. Go ahead and pull this side off too and see what comes in the box. I know.

Unboxing uh nowadays are pretty bland just because people aren't, including anything in their boxes. So there we go pixel, 4a, 5g and here is the device so very, very light feeling phone. This thing feels really, really light plastic back, so it should be nice and durable, but it still feels really nice in the hand. So let's go ahead and set that aside and uh turn it around. Now you guys can get a look at that and what else comes in a box? You get this pretty cool paper tray on there.

You can put that up on the shelf. Furthermore, you get your sim card. Of course, don't really use that you get some paperwork from Google, your sim ejection tool. Oh, look at that. You do get a charger in here, so this is uh.

I believe an 18 watt charger that you do get in the box Apple Pay attention. You do get an USB to UPC charging cable. So that's really, really nice. A lot of people are including that the two you know USB to USB charging, cable, and you do get your little data transfer adapter right here. You could also use that to hook up a mouse or something and transfer data between device to device.

So pretty nice you get quite a bit in the box. So that's pretty good. I was expecting a little less, but you still get a good amount of accessories in the box. So all your basic accessories, let's go ahead, set that aside, shall we and take a look at the device right here so just black variant? I think this is a good size, 6.2 inches it's not too small and not too big, so really, really nice. It feels great in the hand it's a nice thin phone.

You do get stereo speakers on here as well. Uh the pixel 5 had stereo speakers, but one is under the display. So a lot of people didn't like that. You get your little accent, power button, which is a little of a gray white, and then your volume rockers right underneath that, and you do get your 8 megapixel front facing camera hole, punch cut out. So, let's see, if there's any juice in here, and we'll go ahead and set her up, and then we'll come back, take a look at the storage and maybe check out the camera or something but yeah.

This is really, really nice feeling phone just black. If you don't like just the one color this comes in, you can get a skin for this, which I probably will eventually down a line just to change it up a little and make this a little fancier but yeah. It only comes in one color, fingerprint sensor on the back. So no nothing! Fancy nice, reliable, fingerprint sensor on the back, your two cameras right there, your 16 and your, I believe it's a 12, megapixel yeah, 12, megapixel main sensor and 16 ultra-wide, with your flash and a little of a mic, and then your eight megapixel front facing camera. Your earpiece up here, which doubles as a secondary speaker and look at that.

You get a headphone jack, guys really, really nice and your other speaker is going to be at the bottom, with along with a mic USB type c and like I said this is a plastic back, but it's a uniform body so should be nice and durable. I may not even slap the case on this, and you get the Google logo at the bottom. So really, really nice we'll go ahead and set this up, and we'll be right back guys, don't go anywhere all right, so we are back in the phone right here. So this is the home screen. Uh hole punch for the camera is a little bigger than usual, like a Samsung or an OnePlus, but still not a dealbreaker.

So really, really nice. Let's go ahead and check out the storage on here. We do have dark mode on, and here are your settings battery is about 67. So it's pretty good for a first time charge. Let's go ahead and storage right here, so 15.7 gigabytes is being used out of 128, so 12 out of that is being used, and I have not downloaded any apps yet for this device. Uh display right here you do have the dark mode is on adapter.

Brightness is on we'll, go ahead and turn that off. It's because I like to control my adaptive, brightness screen, timeout, etc. Colors you have adaptive boosted and natural. So, let's see which one I should go with I'll, probably go with boosted uh what else styles and wallpapers. So this allows you to change some colors and the text wallpapers.

These are all the wallpapers that come installed on it. Oh, they got Mandalorian wallpapers on here what the heck all right. So this is pretty cool. I don't know if this is uh, google or what, but that's that's pretty nice- that they got some wallpapers on here. Just for fun come alive, living universe, really, really nice wallpapers on here, solid colors as well, and then you can also change your grid size, we'll go ahead and keep that at default and then swipe on over gestures are activated on here.

So really, really nice clean interface. As far as a system update, let's see if there's a there's, is an update available. So we're going to go ahead and hit resume once we're done with this video, but really, really nice phone. Let's check out the camera, shall we'll allow while using the app? So let's go ahead and take a picture of this plant. So nice, quick shutter and let's see you got it as far as that detail goes in there.

So really, really nice detail on there and let's go ahead and check out the uh wide view. So we do get a wide view with that camera. So really, really nice. It is processing. So nice, you do get an ultra-wide on here and then your front facing camera is an 8 megapixel.

Let's check out the quality the beard test, so it is a little blurry, just because maybe the lighting in here, but actually still looks pretty good on there. I'm excited to try this out now. You do have the option to record up to 1080p on the front-facing camera and 4k 60 on the rear-facing camera. If I'm not mistaken, let's go ahead and go into video swipe that down, so you get 4k 30 and 60 frames per second, so that's really, really nice uh front-facing camera would have liked to prefer to. I would have preferred to see 4k on a front-facing camera, but that is all right.

The OnePlus only has 1080p as well. So I decided to do some camera testing camera comparisons between the two. If you go into more, you do get a panorama photo sphere, uh photo sphere, slow motion, time, lamps and lens. You do get a portrait mode as well see if we get a get this tap to focus and see if that did anything for portrait mode. So really, really nice excellent specs on here six gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of internal storage, no SD card support, unfortunately, but that is quite all right.

You also get google perks on here, like the whole um, wait if you're on a call- and they put you on hold. This will wait for you. So that's pretty nice and a bunch of other google stuff. I got to look up, but really, really nice options on here. For this now playing, you can show songs that are playing on your display, your lock screen, so you could identify songs that way, if there's something playing at a coffee shop or something you're out and about- and you hear that elevating music want to find out what it is, this will identify it for you.

So really, really nice options. It's pure stock, google. So this is really nice, and you do have your gesture support and everything as well. So I'm very excited about this. It has been a while, since I had a pixel device last one I had again been the 4 XL and that phone was kind of underwhelming.

To me, camera was great, but it did not have a wide angle. This one has a wide angle, so hopefully they improved everything on here as well. A fingerprint sensor is on the back, and it's nice and quick boom. You just barely have to just tap it, and it unlocks the device. You do get facial recognition.

I believe on here. If I'm not mistaken, let's go ahead and go into security and find my device screen unlock smart unlock. So no facial recognition looks like it on here, which I guess it's fine, let's see device security. You got a pin, enter that in pattern, password so yeah, no facial recognition on here, just fingerprints and your password. Hopefully they include that on a future update on here but uh.

That's one thing that did annoy me with the lg devices. They did not have facial recognition, but hopefully that fingerprint sensor it is definitely fast enough. So it shouldn't be giving me any problems. You do have an always on display as well. You can keep that on there very simplistic, always on display should not waste any battery.

Looking device really simple, I actually like the simplicity of it. The design is very nice feels nice and matte on the back, and it just looks nice fingerprints not going to be a problem on here. Probably won't have a case on here for a little, and that is quite all right, because it's plastic and should hold up pretty well as far as durability goes and yeah.
