Google Pixel 3a XL In 2020! An Excellent Mid-Range Smartphone! By Matthews Tech

What is that glass today we're going to be checking out the pixel three AXL. So let's go ahead and get started. So, as you can see in the box, you get all the usual stuff. You get your paperwork with the Google sticker, and you get your phone obviously charger, brick in your USB, type-c, cable in your little adapter. So just starting off with the hardware with this phone first off, it's a know, $400 phone, so it's kind of a mid-range err device, but it actually looks pretty good. They cut corners here because this does have the flagship camera, but we will talk about, but they cut corners is a classic phone, but it definitely has a good weight to it, and it does not feel bad in the hand at all.

It actually still feels like a pretty solid device. I really like the design on here with the little orange power button. You do have stereo speakers which we will talk about a USB type-c. You also have a headphone jack up top now, as far as the feel in the hand um it's a little wide, but it's not as wide as something like the LAB 35. So it actually feels pretty comfortable in the hand, and it is very thin so for me, I had no issues with comfort with this phone.

It is a pretty comfortable phone. So, as you can see only front you kind of have a bigger bezel, but that does not really distract me. You don't really have the, or you don't have the notch at all, which is something that I like. So some people, you know, might not like the bigger bezels, but it's not a know deal-breaker for me. Now, let's go ahead and talk about the display.

You have a six-inch display, it's a 1080p display, and it's an OLED display, and it's actually a very, very nice display. You have 402 for the PPI, it's an always-on display, of course, and yeah, it's really nice. So it's bright enough for me. I've heard some complaints about it not being as bright, but it is a pretty decently bright for outdoors. So I don't have an issue with the brightness, but the display just gives off some very fiber in nice, colors, and it just makes you know watching.

Content are really, really awesome one here, plus you don't get the notch, like most phones, I have these days so as far as you display I really like it now. This came with android 9, but it's upgradable to android 10 and, of course, it's upgradable to android 11. So what I love about these pixel phones is that you get perfect updates. You'll always get the latest version of Android fairly fast. Actually, it's something that I really like with these pixel phones, so you have this Snapdragon 670 processor in the adrenal 615, and it's pretty much a mid-range processor but performance wise.

This is pretty good for a gaming and stuff like that, as you can see, you know, I was playing called the D mobile on high, and I did not have a problem with it at all. No really frame rate drops or anything like that, so this phone is just silky, smooth with Android 10. Now this phone does not have expandable storage, so I, just stuck with the internal 64 gigs of storage with this guy, but you can use the cloud you know to store your photos and stuff are the four gigs of RAM. You know this phone is decent with multitasking, but if you're a heavy multitasker I definitely wouldn't be looking towards this phone. So if you're just bouncing out of a lot of apps and games and stuff like that, basically just going really hard on your phone, then you know this is not going to be the phone for you.

You want to look for a phone with like six gigs or even eight gigs of RAM, but yeah, but this is fine for just casual multitasking, but definitely wouldn't go too crazy. With this now this phone does have stereo speakers, and they actually sound, really nice crisp and clear. You actually get a lot of bass with these guys. You have one at the bottom and then one as the earpiece, which is really nice, so I wish all phones. We just do that, but I'll go ahead, and let you hear, so you can hear some pretty awesome sounding speakers, so this phone does have a Bluetooth, 5.0 and NFC onboard for your mobile payments, which is really nice. The fingerprint scanner on the back.

All works pretty well. So no issues with that. You can actually use the little fingerprints, gesture swiping down from it to be able to get your notification tray to up or down which I think is really cool. Now the cameras on this phone are pretty good, so you only have one camera. Actually, it's a 12 megapixel the sensor, 12.2 megapixel sensor. You can shoot in a 4k video.

You have an 8 megapixel selfie camera in the photos on here are very. Very good. I was really impressed with the color accuracy of these photos and just the cleanness of these photos and overall dynamic range I was able to get some pretty nice shots. You can even get some pretty decent shots where the lighting isn't that great. So overall, just really liked taking photos on here.

Are you getting an excellent camera, basically competes with a lot of flagship phones, as you can see so, just very, very awesome, cameras and the same thing for video? Are you getting some excellent video as well, and that's really the main selling point with this phone is to sort of cut corners with the hardware and with the know, chip and pretty much give you a just, really great flagship quality camera here, which is something that I really like? So this is one of the best cameras that you know I have played with obviously the pixel four that I play with a while ago. It was better, but this is very good for this price range. It's not a bunch of phones. I can compete with this when it came out, it was 400 bucks, and it's pretty much stayed at that price point I. Think because of how excellent the camera is.

You also have a 3700 William battery with 18 watt fast charging. This phone does not have wireless charging, so I do note that, but for battery life on here, are you looking at around 6 or 7 hours of screen on time? So that is pretty much what it's looking like and that's pretty for a day. It's not the best that we've seen on the channel, but pretty decent, for you know just getting through a four day, so you won't have an issue. You know with this phone, so overall, just a pretty solid phone. We're going to use some comparisons with this guy, as well just to check it out how it compares to some other phones that I have so be sure to watch, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
