Google Pixel 3 XL unboxing: notchtastic!

Hey folks, it's another day, another unboxing and this year is the Google Pixel 3xl. Yes, this is the white one, and I'm going to unbox it for you today. So let's have a quick look at what's around the box, there's a bunch of serial numbers here. As you can see, this is a 64 gigabyte, clearly white width, of course the 6.3 inch display with a crazy notch, and it says in Canada imported by this, like some kind of weird sticker for that, and it's got the nice little green power lock key and team pixel on the back Google. There we go so let's open this up, shall we're ready three two one Tom, there's nothing in here by the way, so here's the phone and taxa there it is, so I think I can just potentially push it out of its little wrapper here. Maybe not I think I might have to pull the tab.

So here we go fresh tab, pulling action going on and there's actually a screen protector built in to this. Listen to that sound amazing, interesting design. I've never seen this before where the screen protector is part of the packaging like that. So there you go. There's the phone, and the first thing you notice is that it's got that you know iconic pixel design with the kind of glass part on the top and the matte stuff on the bottom, but this is actually a whole piece of glass this year, and this is just glasses being etched here in this area.

Why? Because there's wireless charging this year? So that's the big one of the big differences. Let's look at the phone in a minute. First, let's see what else is in the box, so divider, and then we've got a couple of little compartments here. I bet that's documentation, it's so well done, as typically with Google products, so you've got a sim removal tool and, let's get started pamphlet, a team pixel sticker- and this says I bet you is like one she and health and safety. So let's skip this one.

Let's skip this one, and it skipped this one, because you know it's just going to be the standard stuff. So it's in multiple languages, and you go meet your new pixel shows you all the little details, and then it shows you how to before. You start set up your new pixel and, of course, the coffee, apps, etc. Yeah, gets on the adapter, so there you go, there's French after that, etc. , etc.

So, that's what's in this little container, and now we're going to move to the next thing. So here are the earbuds. Clearly, as you can see, and there they are I'm, not gonna, take them out, but totally shows you how to secure them to adjust them. So it's exactly the same design as the Pixel Buds in terms of adjustment. I, don't really like that design.

Very much but hey! You know, I'm willing to try it out and, of course, no headphone jack. So this is USB type-c. So this is interesting that they include these are your buds with that phone with the phones this year, and then you've got a bunch of things in here. So the first thing you've got is the power brick. As you can clearly see there, you go it's a little off-white color, and it's USB type-c, and then you've got the type C to type P adapter, that's used for no I guess this comes up convenient, so this is used for transferring from another phone with the other forms.

Cable. This is a 3.5 millimeter headphone, two USB type-c adapter, which is gonna, be acquired and then the final thing as you'd expect, is the USB type-c to type-c cable to plug into the charger. So you can actually charge this thing. So there you go. That's that's! What's in the box now, let's take a look at the phone a little closer, so there it is and all of its massive beauty and that's a big phone- and you know it looks a lot like the pixel to excel from last year.

Until that is you turn on the screen. So let's do that right now and there you go. You can clearly see now that this is a big chin on the bottom and a massive notch on the top. But then, yes, the edge of the screen go right up to the edge, which is very cool, very pretty, and there you go. You can set up hi there pick your language, vision, settings, etc.

So we're not quite sure why the notch is so big. But in that notch are two front-facing cameras. One is a wide-angle one is the regular, and then you've got a piece and another speaker down there, because this makes a stereo pair and then in the back. You've got the main camera. It's also it's the same as last year, 12 megapixels with dual pixel autofocus pixels, and it has some hardware D banding this year so like it can detect flicker and hard when correct for it, which is cool and, of course, dual LED do a color flash and the laser autofocus fingerprint reader in the back and the Google logo and silver there, and so there you go and stop dragging in 45 four gigs of RAM, which is an interesting choice.

This is a 64. Gig version is a 128 gig version. So remember the f-stop on the back is that for 1.8 I'm? Not quite sure what it is in the front, I think this is either 8 or 5 megapixel one is a wide-angle one as a regular angle, camera and there's no face ID kind of sensor. Here we thought that perhaps is this big notch. There would be that, but it's not the case, so there you have it 2k display, oh, that that's what HD for those of you keeping track at home, and so you know pretty thin state-of-the-art.

Let me walk you through the edges on the right-hand side. Here, you've got the power button, which is unfortunately, not ridged, but it's this beautiful green color and the volume rocker on the bottom. Here you have the USB type-c port and the SIM slot, no micro SD and, of course this was on the side on the left-hand side. Before so, there's nothing on the left now and then on the top. You got the secondary mic and that it is very clean design.

There's really nothing here. This is a little slippery, even though it's matte and etched I thought it would be more drippy, but it actually feels kind of slippery in hand. So there you go so stay tuned because I'm going to unbox the pixel 3. Next now you should watch the video I'll link to it at the end, but I'm not gonna, set this up right now. I just wanted to show you a quick unboxing of the pixel 3 XL in white, and we'll go from here.
