Gold iPhone 8 Plus Unboxing & First Impressions!

You guys something I'll hear 10 we're taking a look at the iPhone 8 Plus, which retails for eight hundred dollars, and we have the rose gold color here to check out all three colors in total. With all these videos- and you know, let's go ahead and open this right up if you're wondering why I went with the plus in the rose gold color, it's because it's the phone size I like the least with the color size that I like the least as well. So that's why I chose it and let's check out to see if I change my mind on the actual color, once we open the box now cool thing about the box, it has this kind of Rose tint to it. So it's not white, it's a little off-white, so you can tell the difference here, that's white and that that's gonna look like a rosy color or a champagne color, and the whole box is like that. So it does look pretty cool and let's go ahead and open here. Just remove the film right off the bat here for the phone and right off the bat guys I hate this color, so much I know some people might like it.

Of course that's how it works, but I might not look like this camera, it's a little brighter a little nicer, just because the reflection that the lights giving off over here but overall, this is a really odd color. These sides are okay. They're, like kinda like the rose gold color from last year. It's a nice mix between the gold and rose gold color, so they kind of mix both colors together. To get this, that's what it looks like I mean you know it's one of those colors that does change.

Depending on for much like the less light there is the uglier I. Think it's gonna, look and yeah I mean the thing about this plate right here is that it doesn't look like gold, and it doesn't look like what it looks like white. That's filthy like you put in a purse or something, and it's gotten that kind of weather coloring onto the glass back and yeah. Let's go ahead and turn it on I'm gonna done. I'm gonna, stop bashing it for now, but let's go ahead and turn it on, and we're going to put the SIM card in there to check out looks but I yeah.

You got the five watt power. Adapter you get the AirPods, you get the lightning to USB, and you're, absolutely two lightning. So it's the exact same thing: we got with the iPhone 7 and these phones do support wireless charging and fast charging, but for fast charging you're going to have to buy like a $30 charger. So that's the bigger like iPad looking ones, but the ones for the MacBook that charge much faster and yeah. You might want to get that if you use your phone a lot because you can get a quick charge in like 15 minutes or so you'll get.

You know a good amount that you could use in case of an emergency but yeah. That's something worth noting, and here I'm just going to go ahead and go through the setup process for this one I'm just gonna skip through it since I've already done it three times. So I don't want to make you watch it, but I yeah, and I totally take that back on what I said before, because of course not everyone's going to watch all three videos, so I mean if you're looking for just this phone, then I'm going to show you it is real, quick here, I'm putting the sim card in because it does require you to put a sim card in to get to the know, actual phone and use iOS 11, so yeah, alright. So first off I'm going to put my Wi-Fi password, which, if you don't know the password it's just a bunch of zeros, which is what I use for everything now moving along here. We're going to go ahead and actually activate the phone.

So you just kind of wait there for a few and yeah I mean the fronts on here is just like the gold iPhone 7 plus you got the little gold ring which actually looks like full-on gold and yeah. Obviously, the sides are gonna, look a little different, but the actual whole face that you're looking at here. Even the screen is the exact same thing. So, let's go ahead and set up touch ID in real quick see if it's any faster than previous years, and it definitely recognizes your finger way faster for like actual setup, it's something I didn't notice in the last video for some reason, but this thing was insanely fast. If you set anything up recently, you can kind of see the difference.

How fast it kind of just recognized or anything so definitely way faster. I, don't know if that has to do with the processor or with a new fingerprint sensor they put in. Who knows, and let's set this up as a new iPhone I, don't have an ID I'll set this up later in settings, as I was saying before this kind of setups have gotten really long. Even the one on Android I think now is a little quicker than this and yeah you're right there. It does have true tone display, which is the same thing that we have on the iPads.

Basically, it's something you're, never really going to notice it just does it automatically, and it'll change the color temperature of the display to match, where you're in so that it's easier on your eyes and just softer, and you're, seeing all three videos you're seeing this voicemail, which every single time but yeah. So here is the phone itself. The only thing I really like about the plus is the camera on the back, which you do get the dual cameras that allow you to zoom into that second camera right there, which is a nice little feature and I, was hoping that the iPhone eight normal would get this because that's the phone I would have actually gone with, and so the iPhone X, just because I really wanted those cameras and all the features that they have. So one of the features here that we got his portrait camera, which we used last year, we had in beta last year now it's out of beta and now what we have in beta is this lighting stage. Lighting I! Think that's! What's in beta now and basically depending on your subject, it'll kind of read the skin, then whatever and do a bunch of computer magic and try to sub the lighting correctly.

So the face looks right and apparently the effect that this can do are insanely cool, but we'll be testing that out at a later date to do that completely, but uh yeah. So you do get a kind of cooler, camera and better camera on here that you can do more things with it. It's a little more versatile! You do take pictures. So definitely that's one of the reasons to get this well. The reasons to not get this is that it's huge I mean it's still like one of the biggest phones out there that you can get, and they have huge bezels.

So it's like completely opposite to the iPhone X here it is compared to the iPhone eight normal and then, let's take off my aside here from my pocket and show you how crazy different that is, it's a monster and really just for that reason. I never have recommended this phone to people never ever ever. Just because it's too big, it's something that you're going to end up, fumbling around with you're going to put in your purse or whatever, and it's something that really takes up a lot of space in your pocket in your purse, in your whatever you put it, it's going to take up a lot of space, and it's also hard to handle for most well. I have big hands, so I mean I, am kind of pretty much fine with it, but it still takes up too much. Space in those bezels are huge.

So it's really not something. I recommend and I hate that so much. That is one of the reasons I'm going with the iPhone X I really wanted this camera and the iPhone X is getting that in the form factor of almost the iPhone 8. So that's why I'm going to go ahead and go with that. But if you don't mind the size, obviously the better phone to get is the iPhone 8 plus, just because of the camera and the slightly larger battery that you get but yea you can pretty much see right there, the iPhone 8 and the galaxy s.8 have almost the same screen sizes and these size is I mean a lot. You might not notice.

It may be too much on camera, but in real life. It's that that difference right there that you see there makes a huge difference and also the iPhone it's a little more expensive than the s 8. Now, because Samsung I don't know what they're doing, but they really brought down the price of that and yeah guys. But enough of this, as far as both of them go, I definitely recommend the iPhone 8, just overall I feel like it's less of a hassle if you've had the 7 plus and stuff in the past, and you like that then you're gonna, like this one, just fine and even more because it's faster and better in almost every single way and last thing is I. Don't recommend upgrading from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8 there's just not enough of a big difference.

Your phone should not be slow at all at this point, and it should be almost as fast as this is really no reason to get this. If you have the previous gen high phone, because this is basically the 7s, if this had been called the 7s, would you have gotten it? If you had gotten it then sure go ahead and get it if you wouldn't have gotten it then do not get the iPhone 8, because it is a 7s, maybe just keep saving up for the iPhone X or just save up for the iPhone, 9 or 11 or whatever next year, which will be a heck of an upgrade compared to the iPhone 7, but yeah guys, that's pretty much it for this video we're all going to mention that same stuff, I just mentioned in another video, but if you guys have any questions, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter at our marginal or our gadgets, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, and aside from that, you can also comment down below now. I'll get back to you there, but yeah guys, thanks for watching this video, and I'll catch, you guys in the next one goodbye you.
