Galaxy Tab A7 (2020): How to Fix Black Screen, Display Won't Turn On (FIXED!)

You have a Samsung Galaxy tab, a7 the 2020 model, and you have the issue where you have a black screen. Even though you have a black screen, you know that it's on, maybe you see some LED lights. Maybe you feel it vibrating? Maybe you can hear like notifications coming in any way. Your screen is black, but the tab a7 is on we're going to get you up and running by several possible solutions here. So watch very closely. All right so first thing we're going to do here is we're going to force it to restart now this one here is obviously fixed, but let's just pretend I have a black screen here.

So I don't know what is going on the screen. So first thing is force it to restart how you do that, we're going to, and you're not going to lose any information. Okay, we're going to press and hold the power button and volume down. You want to press and hold both buttons. The same time do not let go until we see the Samsung logo appear.

So we're going to do this together, power button volume down ready one. Two three press and hold both buttons do not let go. Don't worry about what's happening to the screen. Let's pretend my screen is totally black. I have no idea, what's going on I'm just holding on to these two buttons waiting for a Samsung logo to appear, then I can let go of the two buttons still holding.

There's a Samsung logo go and let go the two buttons and hopefully you guys are now up and running if you're still down we're going to go to the next possible step. Okay, so your screen is so black, so the next thing we're going to do here is first thing: is this okay now we're going to go ahead, and we're going to force it restart while it's charging? Okay, however, sometimes there's a possibility that, because your power button or your volume rockers are jammed or stuck, it can cause a black screen as well. So what we're going to do here is the power button here, we're just going to go ahead and spam. It okay, basically just press in and out get it all nice and loose the power button, as well as the volume rockers up and down up power button get a little nice and loose there now go ahead and grab your charging cable plug it in, and now you should be able to hear that okay, so it's charging now- and you know your screen's still black, of course now from here, while it's charging we're gonna, go ahead and force it to restart again: okay power button volume down, while it's charging, okay, ready power, button volume down one two three press and hold both buttons. Do not let go.

Don't worry about what's happening to my screen again, but 10 is totally black. I have no idea what's going on just holding on to these two buttons hoping for a Samsung logo to appear still holding, and it's still charging okay, Samsung logo appears go ahead and let go- and hopefully you guys are now up and running- if not we're going to go to the next step. Okay, so if you saw the black screen, the next thing we're going to do here is what I call the tap method. Now, it's a part now what we're going to do is hold the tap like this that we're going to grab two fingers that we're going to tap all over the screen and all over the back. What typically happens you know, especially if you ended up like dropping your um, your tab, sometimes a slight something can be dislodged slightly and a couple taps can bring it back.

Okay, so anyway, go ahead and uh hold your tab. A7 like this get two fingers. What I want you to do is tap on the screen like this tap all over okay, sometimes you're, going to see like white lines or half the screen will pop on just keep doing this, and then you know tap on the on power button. You know see if you have no longer have the black screen, so just keep tapping all over the middle tap on the power button. Okay, is it on okay? It's still black turn it over and now go ahead and tap everywhere on the back as well, even around the lens and on the lens.

Okay, all over okay turn it over presses the power button. Okay, it's still totally black and then from here do the same thing: force it to restart press and hold the power button volume now press and hold both buttons. Do not let go until the Samsung logo appears then let go. Hopefully you guys are up and running now, if you're still down we're going to move over and do the massage method similar to the tapping method, so this time we're going to massage it. So what I want you to do is go ahead and grab your tab and what we're going to do is we're going to use two thumbs, and we're going to press all over the screen and on the back.

Okay, if you want to you, can use like a cloth or anything like that. If, if you don't want to get your um screen dirty or a paper towel or anything like that, so go ahead and grab the tab like this. What I want you to do is just press massage it everywhere on the screen. Okay, all over just keep on going and then tap on the power button. Okay, it's still black no problem.

You know, like I said you might see some white lines, or you might see a little of the picture pop up somewhere. Just keep doing this all over tap on the power button. Uh. Okay, it's still black, no problem. Just keep massaging now go ahead and turn it over and do the same thing here, just press with your thumbs press, massage it give it a good nice massage all over.

Sometimes you can hear like a little click and then, if you hear a click, turn it over and then press the power button and see if um your display is back on anyway, all over even around the uh. The camera lens here goes ahead and press massage it all over all around. There turn it over and then go ahead and press the power button, and it's still black then from here do the same thing: force it to restart press and hold the power button and volume down. Until you see the Samsung logo appear now if you're still down. The next thing I have for you is what I call the smack method similar to the um.

The tapping massage, except this time we're going to smack it. So also, I'm not responsible anything happens so do everything at your own risk. So what we're going to do is we're going to put our palm out like this, and we're going to go ahead and hold the tab like this, and we're going to smack the back and the screen. Okay, it doesn't matter what side you start off with we'll go ahead and start off on the uh. The back side here give it a couple: smacks: go upside down on the bottom as well; tap it a few times press the power button, see if you have a picture, if it's still black, no problem go ahead and turn it over, and now we're going to go ahead and smack the screen.

Okay, turn it over get the bottom of the screen now turn it over press on the power button, and hopefully you no longer have a black screen. If you still do, then from here do the same thing again: uh force it to restart press and hold the power button and the volume down press and hold both buttons. Do not let go until you see. The Samsung logo appear then go ahead and let go now if you guys are still down. The last thing I have for you is what I call the freezer method, so go ahead and grab your tab just like this go to your freezer.

Just put it into your freezer, like this. Wait: 10 to 15 minutes after 10 to 15 minutes, pull out your cold tab a7 and then do the same thing again: um power, button volume now press and hold do not let go until the Samsung logo appears something little appears then go ahead and let go, and hopefully you guys are up and running now. The thing is, if you guys are still down from doing all these steps, no problem. What I want you to do is start from the very beginning to step number one and try every single step all the way down to the freezer method. If you're still down, try it over again still down, try it over again, try it at least six or seven more times, and if you guys try to at least six or seven times, I'm going to say at least 70 percent of you guys are back up and running.

If you are give me a thumbs up and let me know which method or combination of methods you think worked for you and if it didn't work for you give me a thumbs down, we should see a 70 thumbs up. Good luck.
