Galaxy S21 Plus vs. OnePlus 8T - My 2 FAVORITE PHONES!

In this video I'm going to compare the galaxy s21 plus versus the OnePlus 8t I'll, leave a link in the description below with current pricing and more information on each of these. So you'll definitely want to check those out, but we've got a lot to cover. So let's go ahead and get started now when it comes to the screen size on these you've got a 6.55 inch on the OnePlus 8t and a 6.7 inch on the galaxy s21. Both are AMOLED displays with 1080p resolution and have up to 120 hertz refresh rate, so yeah. These look perfect when watching videos or just navigating through the software, but the Samsung display is a little too yellow. In my opinion, compared to the OnePlus 8t, the OnePlus screen also seems to be a little brighter than the galaxy s 21, plus, so you're going to get nice deep, blacks and perfect viewing angles on both.

Now. Both also have a built-in fingerprint scanner right there in the front towards the bottom, and I feel like the Samsung one might work slightly better because it has a larger area. Now, unfortunately, I haven't found a tempered glass screen protector for the galaxy s21 that doesn't affect the fingerprint scanner, which I don't have that problem on the OnePlus 8t. Overall, though, I'm liking the screen on both of these devices, I don't think you can go wrong with either of them, but if you're going to make me choose, I would have to give a slight edge to OnePlus. You get a 4500 William hour battery on the OnePlus 8t and a 4800 William hour on the galaxy s 21 plus I got to tell you after testing these out.

These are definitely some of the best battery life that I've had from all the devices that I've tested. The OnePlus 8t did perfect during my battery drain test and lasted just over 11 hours, but the galaxy s21 plus took it to a whole another level when it lasted over 14 hours. That's just crazy. Not only do they have great battery life, but the galaxy s 21 plus has fast charging which will get you from zero to a hundred percent and one and a half hours. Then OnePlus takes charging to warp speed, literally in only 40 minutes.

It goes from zero to a hundred percent. I mean that is really fast. I mean you're not going to get much faster than that, so you get the better battery life on the galaxy s 21 plus, but you get faster charging on the OnePlus. The other thing to consider is you do get wireless charging with Samsung, and you don't get that with the OnePlus 8t. Both phones have dual speakers, one on the bottom and the other near the earpiece, which is how all phones should be.

In my opinion, the speakers on Samsung definitely seem a little louder, but both sound perfect and are plenty loud enough. Here's a quick sample of each to give you an idea of what they sound like another difference, you'll, probably notice from last year's model. Are they move the fingerprint scanner from the back to the side? Now where the power button doubles as the fingerprint scanner, and I've got to say so far, I like what they've done here. They made it a little larger where the power button is, so it's easier to scan your fingerprint, and it actually works really fast. There's also a lot of other functions.

You can do with the power button now as well. You'll notice, they put the cameras in the middle on the back now, which I think does look better than last year's model, and they're now giving you a 48, megapixel main camera, 2 megapixel macro lens, which I don't know why everyone likes to put these on there. But I guess it is what it is another difference, you'll, probably notice from last year's model. Are they move the fingerprint scanner from the back to the side? Now where the power button doubles as the fingerprint scanner, and I've got to say so far, I like what they've done here. But I guess it is what it is another great thing about these two phones is gonna, be performance and gaming. You get eight gigabytes of ram on Samsung, and then you get 8 gigabytes or 12 gigabytes on OnePlus, which is the one that I have geek bench scores are a little better on the galaxy s 21, but it's not drastically better gaming is pretty close on both devices as well.

You're going to get HD graphics with high frame rates navigating through the software is nice and snappy, and you aren't going to find an android phone much smoother than these two, and it takes about the same amount of time to open up the games. Sometimes OnePlus is faster and sometimes Samsung is faster. If you want one of the best gaming phones out there, yeah you'll definitely want one of these two phones. Now, when it comes to software, I will admit that I've always been an OnePlus fanboy when it comes to their almost stock software. But I have to tell you: Samsung phones are getting perfect, and it seems, like they've, got rid of a lot of bloatware they used to have in the past I'm sort of undecided on which I like better right now, but after I switch from the OnePlus 8t to the galaxy s, 21 plus, as my daily driver, I think I'll get a better idea of which I prefer.

Ultimately, it's going to come down to personal preference, because both phones have perfect software, and not only that both allow you to customize things pretty much as you like. Now that Samsung gives you three years of updates. It's going to be tough to beat that as far as software updates go because, as far as I know on OnePlus, I believe they still only give you two years of software updates and then maybe three years of security updates, oh, and also you're going to get DEX on Samsung. So if that's important to you, then obviously you're going to go with the galaxy s21 plus, you would think. Obviously the more expensive phone is going to have better cameras, but not necessarily you get a 64 megapixel main camera on the galaxy s, 21 plus, and you get a 48 megapixel on the OnePlus 8t weird thing is sometimes OnePlus photos look better and other times, Samsung looks better.

You do get a wider angle lens on the galaxy s, 21 plus, and I feel like it blurs the background, a little better on portrait mode compared to OnePlus. Here's a few samples of photos and video. Just to give you an idea of what to expect there's. Also, a 16 megapixel selfie camera on the OnePlus 8t versus a 10 megapixel on Samsung. But again the weird thing is: you can actually see better detail on a Samsung camera versus OnePlus.

I know it doesn't really sound like it should be that way, but yeah it is so. I guess overall I feel Samsung does have the slightly better cameras, and it definitely packs in a lot of features. But this one is so close. I really don't think you can go wrong with either device uh hmm. Now, probably one of the biggest decisions between these two devices is going to be price and storage options.

You get 12 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes of storage on the OnePlus 8t for 750 bucks, and then you get eight gigabytes of ram with 128 gigabytes of storage on the galaxy s 21 plus for right at 1, 000 bucks. So is the galaxy s21 plus really worth 250 dollars more than the OnePlus 8t? I have to be honest. I don't think so, but if you do have a phone to trade in for the galaxy s, 21 plus that way you get it cheaper sort of like. Furthermore, I did then yeah. It would probably be worth it since you're going to get rid of the other phone anyways, but if you're just buying these outright at full price, I would just go with the OnePlus 8t and just use that extra 250 bucks to buy something else.

I mean you could buy an iPad for that. Well when it was on sale anyways. So if you've made it this far into the video, you may want to say thanks by subscribing and don't forget, to give a thumbs up.
