Galaxy S20 vs Galaxy S10 Charging Speed Test

So we have the galaxy s 10 from last year, and we are going to be comparing it to the galaxy s 20 from this year in terms of charging speed, as you can see from both of these phones, they are completely dead, so I'm going to be plugging them into the actual chargers that came with these phones in their boxes. So, let's quickly show you the differences in the charging bricks that came with them for the galaxy s 10. We have the brick from last year, and this is a USB, a brick and the cable that came with this phone is also a USB, a 2, a USB, brick and I. Think that's going to make a difference, because this year they have upgraded the charging brick. So, let's quickly take a look at the charging, brick that comes with the galaxy s 20. This right here is a USB, brick, so I think that's going to make a little of a difference, and we also have the cable that has been upgraded to a USB-C to USB cable, so we'll get both of these phones plugged up to their cables.

Let's just move everything out of the way and plugged into a power brick, and we'll see how the charging goes between these two phones. So we have both phones plugged up to a power brick, and we have the iPhone right here to show us the time in reference of how long it takes to charge for each section, and I'm going to go ahead and just start the charging and start the power brick right at the same time, and then we'll come back and see how long it takes for these phones to charge up to certain levels. Now remember the galaxy s: 10 came with a 3400 William battery and now the galaxy s 20 has a four thousand William battery. So it is a bigger battery, but we're going to see if it takes longer to charge that bigger battery or because of this upgraded charging with a cable and the brick we'll see. If that actually makes a difference and if the galaxy s 20 actually charges faster.

So right now we are approaching the 15-minute mark and both of them have been charging straight. So if we do a quick check-in on both phones, we see that the galaxy s 10 is actually at 24% and the galaxy s 20 is at 7%. So that's a 3% more for the galaxy s, 20 right around 15 minutes now we're gonna, let it charge for another 15 minutes and check back at the 30-minute mark. So now we are approaching the 30-minute mark and if we check both phones, we have the galaxy s 10 at 48 percent and the galaxy s 20 at 53 percent. That's a difference of five percent! So the galaxy s 20 is charging faster, even though it has a bigger battery.

Now we're going to let these charge a little more and come back and checking at the 45-minute mark to see how much more they have charged in 45 minutes. Okay. So now we are approaching the 45-minute mark and if we check in on the phones, we have the galaxy s 10, that's at 67% and the galaxy s 20, that's at 77%, and now it's a 10% higher for the galaxy s 20. So it seems like it's taking a bigger lead over time, and it's charging faster once again. Remember that the galaxy s 10 has a 30 formula, amp battery and the galaxy s.20 has a four thousand William battery, and it should be pretty close now to the galaxy s 20 being fully charged, but we'll come back and check in at the hour mark or at least to see when the galaxy s 20 fully charges. Okay.

So now we are approaching the one-hour mark. Both of them have been charging for an hour and, let's just quickly check in so the galaxy as 10 is at 84% and the galaxy s 20 is at 94%. It maintained its 10% lead over the galaxy s 10, and now it's really close to topping up, and it seems like the galaxy s.20 is just charging a lot faster than the galaxy s 10, okay. So now it's been 1 hour and 11 minutes and, as you can see, it just popped up on the screen that the galaxy s 20 has finished charging. So the overall time for the galaxy s 20 to fill up from 0 to 100% without being turned on, is actually one hour 11 minutes and about 45 to 50 seconds.

So now we're gonna just wait to see how much longer the galaxy s 9 takes to fill up that last 9 percent, so the Galaxy S 10 filled up to 100% at one hour and 32 minutes and remember. The Galaxy, S 20 filled up to 100% at one hour in 11 minutes and that's a difference of 21 minutes which is really a long time, because for 20 minutes you can use up your phone a lot these days with quick charge and fast charge and all types of different superfast charging. But overall the galaxy s.10 takes 21 minutes more to charge than the galaxy s.20 I also remember that I have been using the galaxy s 10 on and off for about a year now. So this battery is one year old and you have to take the irrigation in to factor, and it's just something to know so once again, the galaxy s 20 charged at 1 hour and 11 minutes and the galaxy s 10 has charged at 1 hour and 32 minutes. I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
