What's up guys, Shane Stares here, and I've been using the Galaxy S 2000 as my main device for the past three days. The main question that you guys keep asking me is: how is the battery life? This thing is rocking a five thousand William hour battery. It's got the snapdragon 865 processors and the question is even with that giant battery. Does the 120 Hertz, refresh rate screen, kill the battery life quicker than usual, no know that there are plenty of battery drain tests out there, but in this video I'm going to show you my real-world usage of the phone and the kind of battery life I was able to get over the past three days.

Let's go ahead and get started so February 29th was my first full day on the s20 ultra and after just one hour of use, I was down to 90% at almost 11 o'clock in the morning, and I'd had one hour of screen on time. On that same day, at almost midnight, I was at 46%, and I had used four hours of screen on time. So at this rate, I would have made it to about eight or nine hours of screen on time. If we scroll over here, my usage here, I had 48 minutes of Twitter I had 34 minutes of Chrome 22 minutes of YouTube 26 minutes of YouTube studio and 14 minutes of Gmail. Throughout the day you can also see the background usage of those applications so moving on to March 1st, it shows that at 9 o'clock I had an hour screen on time, but that includes about 40 minutes of Netflix and YouTube that was recorded before I charged the phone.

So we'll have to subtract about 40 minutes from this day. So I actually had about 20 minutes of screen on time and had only used two percent by 1119 I was down to 87% and had used two hours in two minutes. There get about 1 hour and 20 minutes of screen on time. At some point, as you can see here, I turned on the dark theme and at 4 o'clock I was down to 60% with 4 hours roughly of screen on time. If you subtract the YouTube and Netflix use before charging the phone and just as a reminder, I've had the 120 Hertz high refresh rate selected for this entire three days.

So at 8 o'clock in the evening, I was down to 40%, and I had roughly 6 hours of screen on time. At 8 o'clock, I had used Facebook for about an hour chrome for about an hour Twitter for about an hour YouTube for about an hour YouTube studio for about 33 minutes Netflix for 21 minutes and at this day I think it's worth mentioning that I was at home for most of the day, I didn't really venture out of the house that Sunday very much I actually had to miss church, because my son had the flu, so we didn't even get out of the house for church. So I was mostly on Wi-Fi here, I wasn't really connected to LTE by 917 I was at 29% and had used the screen for about 7 hours. You can see some of my usage there at 917 at 11, 54 I, was down to 13%, and I had used about 9 hours of screen on time, an hour and 20 minutes of Facebook an hour and a half of Twitter and hour, and a half of Chrome an hour of YouTube an hour of prime an hour of YouTube studio and 21 minutes of Netflix alright. So today, at about 11 o'clock, I was down to 90 percent I had started out my day with about half an hour of YouTube music by 251.

I was down to 70 percent and I had used two and a half hours. A whole hour was watching prime video. During my lunch break and I'd had YouTube music on for about 49 minutes. You see the messenger used about 2.3 percent I'd only opened that to respond to one message, but I ran in the background for 57 minutes and used up two and a half percent of battery. So that brings us to right now.

It's currently 905 in the evening I've got 41 percent left I've been out of the house most of the day, and I've been mostly on LTE with you know, maybe an hour of my time spent on Wi-Fi. So if we go down to device care battery usage I'm at four hours of screen on time with 41 percent left, so at this rate now that I'm on Wi-Fi I'm trending to get you know nine to ten hours of screen on time. I've had 27 minutes of active YouTube use four hours of background. So most of this was listening to a couple of hours and a half podcast you know, driving in between stops today at work. I had an hour of prime video 33 minutes of Twitter 49 minutes of YouTube music.

There again Facebook Messenger used about two and a half percent just running in the background, the same with Facebook 1.7 percent running. In the background in case you're wondering the first day my screen brightness was set to adaptive brightness. So if I went outside my screen got brighter. If I came inside, the screen was dimmer today, I had adaptive, brightness turned off oh yeah, and yesterday, while I was at home all day on Wi-Fi I was on adaptive brightness. My screen was probably right there about midway, because I was indoors.

Most of the day today, I took adaptive, brightness off, and I kept my screen brightness, not quite 50 percent, so I find that you know saving. You can save some battery life if you take off adaptive brightness if you're outdoors most of the day and put it on. You know about 45%, of course, if I needed to use my phone, and I was outdoors in the Sun, I would bump that brightness up. Furthermore, you know for 30 minutes to an hour or, however long I needed to use the screen all right, so it may be a little early to tell, but in my opinion, battery life on the galaxy s, 20 ultra is absolutely insane with at five thousand William hour battery, considering the fact that I've stayed on 120 Hertz for this entire time, I never dropped it down to sixty Hertz Samsung actually says that if you do drop it down to sixty Hertz, you will see improved battery life. I think it's also worth mentioning that we don't have 5g in my area, so I had been on LTE for this entire time, except for Sunday when I was on Wi-Fi.

Of course, if I was on 5g, I probably wouldn't be getting the type of battery life that I'm getting on the s20 ultra the galaxy s 20 plus, has been ordered it's on the way, also, if you're going to be buying a new as 20 or anything from Samsung be sure to use my Samsung store link in the for a 5% discount if you're buying the s20 ultra 5% discount amounts to about $70. So that's a pretty massive savings that about wraps it up for this video thanks guys for watching be blessed, and I'll, see you in the next one.
