What's going on everyone, this is DOM, and today we're comparing the Google Pixel 3xl to the Galaxy Note 9. So it's easy to say that these two flagships were the most anticipated Android smartphone launches of the year.

Without a doubt, I mean the Galaxy. Note series has always been amazing and the Google, pixel or Nexus series has been great as well. A lot of people really look forward to these phones every single year, and I was no different. So let's talk about the design for a second here now, both of these take on very, very similar designs. As their predecessors, I mean.

There's really not a lot different happening here. We have glass and metal same. Is the story for pretty much every other smartphone these days, and while that's kind of boring I mean it is what it is, and they're both very well-built phones I happen to prefer the design and construction of the Galaxy Note 9 over the pixel 3 XL it just I, don't know, Samsung has been doing a pretty awesome job, making their smartphones look amazing and the marketability of those designs is just awesome. That's not to say, though, that the slightly more subtle design of the Google Pixel 3 XL is not desirable. It's actually less flashy, which I do prefer in that sense, but overall I have to give the win to the Galaxy Note 9.

So, coming around the front with the Galaxy Note 9, we have a six point. Four inch display with a resolution of 1440 by 29 60n Samsung's Super AMOLED displays always look great I mean these things just shine on their own, and I'm, a big fan of that. But on the Google Pixel 3xl, we have a 6.3 inch display of the same resolution. Now the big differentiator between these two displays is gonna, be that notch at the top of the Google Pixel 3xl. And while it doesn't bother me, it might bother some of you out there.

Now the Galaxy Note 9 comes in two configurations: we have 128 gigabytes of storage, with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of storage, with 8 gigabytes of RAM I'm rocking the 128 model, and both of them have a micro, SD card expansion, which is always excellent. Now, when you compare that to the pixel 3xo, we have a 64 gigabyte model and a 128 gigabyte model, neither of which come with 6 or 8 gigabytes of RAM and in fact, there are 4 gigabytes across the board on both variants, and we are also missing micro, SD card expansions, so kind of 2 downsides. As far as the pixel is concerned, inside both of these bad boys, we are rocking this snapdragon 845 processors and the pixel 3 XL has a 34, 30 mill, amp hour battery. While the Galaxy Note 9 has a 4 thousand William hour battery and as far as performance goes I mean both of these are going to be buttery smooth at least right out of the box. I mean time will tell if one of the other starts to lag, I think maybe like 6 months down the road.

It might be a good idea to revisit these 2 and leave this video a thumbs up. If you want to see that in the near future, now the big difference here with the back sides of the phone of course they're both made of glass and bulk pack wireless charging, but we have a single shooter on the backside of the Google Pixel 3 XL, while the Samsung Galaxy Note, 9, packs, 2 cameras. So on the Galaxy Note 9, we have dual 12 megapixel shooters. Of course one of them is a telephoto lens and the other one is your standard camera lens. But we have a variable aperture on here between F 1.5 and F 2.4. Now this camera on the back with that variable aperture is actually pretty cooling one of my favorite innovations in a smartphone, at least this year now with the Google Pixel 3 XL, we just have a single camera on the back 12 megapixel shooter, nothing wrong with that at all, and I think that the photo comparisons between these two speak for themselves.

I, don't think you're going to see a huge noticeable difference from day to day use, regardless of which of this Samar font. You want, of course, having a dedicated telephoto lens. If you like to zoom in on photos a lot, it's going to make a difference in the quality there with the Galaxy Note 9, but between these two. They both take very excellent photos, though, in the camera Department at least on the front facing camera side of things. One thing that you can look forward to with the pixel 3 XL is going to be a nice wide angle, camera lens.

In fact, there are two cameras on the front side of this phone once your standard angle, and then you have a wide-angle lens which will allow you to do some pre cool group shots. Some main differences between these smartphones are going to come from the little things and well not necessarily a little thing, but the s-pen on the Galaxy Note.9 is definitely a reason to pick that phone up over the pixel 3xl. Of course, the s-pen offers a slew of features more than I can actually spend time on describing in this video. But if you want to check out my other videos on the Galaxy Note, 9 I will leave them linked below. But if you want to style this on a phone, the Galaxy Note 9 is the phone that does it the absolute best without a question I mean having the s-pen.

Here is a great thing, especially if that's what you need for your day-to-day phone life. Another thing on the Galaxy Note 9 that you will not see on the pixel 3 XL is going to be faced, unlock or iris unlock. For that matter, I mean the Galaxy Note.9 has both of them. We do also have a fingerprint scanner on the backside of this phone, which is nice as well as having one on the backside of the pixel 3 XL. But if you want that intelligent face unlock or iris unlock you're only going to find that on one of these guys, one other thing that you are going to find on the Galaxy Note 9 that you will not on the pixel 3 XL is going to be a headphone jack and that's actually probably one of the bigger things that a lot of normal people out there care about.

You don't get that on the pixel 3xl, though you do get an adapter in the box that will allow you to adapt its USB type-c port to a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. But if you want these things built into your phone, the Galaxy Note 9 is going to be where it's at though you will pay more for that smartphone. But it's important to note. Yes, I went there. The price point on the Galaxy Note: 9 for at least the base model, 128 gigabyte configuration is only $100 more than the base model of the pixel 3xl.

So you are getting quite a bit more if you're going to use it going with the note 9 over the pixel 3xl, it's going to be hard to determine whether either of these phones is better than the other I mean. Unless you need this s-pen, then you know: you're going to have to go with the Galaxy Note 9, but they're both great phones. They both offer quite a bit for people and in terms of battery life they're, both going to last you all day, you're, really not going to have a problem in that department and I. Think that you really shouldn't have that problem with any smartphone. That's released these days, but I want to know what your opinion is.

What your take is on these two phones. Do you pick the Galaxy Note 9 or the Google Pixel 3xl?
