Hey guys so Samsung is pushing out a new update to their Galaxy Note series. Smartphones and this particular update will improve the picture quality of the camera. So what's new camera picture, quality has been improved, brightness of faces in backlight conditions has been improved, day/night HDR control, accuracy has been improved, low-light broadcast and signal-to-noise ratio has been improved and then there will be some bug fixes. So let's go ahead and download this. So what I've done here for a comparison? I have taken some pictures taken a selfie, and I've taken some pictures of my desk, and this was in kind of like low-light situation, so we'll do a full 100% crop comparison. These pictures are before the update, and I'll take 8, more pictures in similar position, and then we'll do a comparison to see if there is any improvement in the picture quality but again to begin with, I think the picture quality of the note 9 is fantastic.
There is minimal noise, but yeah we'll see what difference it brings. But anyway, this is what I love about Samsung. These guys actually do make improvements to their phones. For example, Sony Mobile. Didn't make any improvement to the camera of the exit premium? Meanwhile, you can see.
Samsung is already improving the camera software, so we'll select Install Now, and now we wait you, okay, guys we are done, so what does it say installing applications? So what I'm going to do now is let this installation finish then I'll take pictures in similar, similar position, and then we'll compare the pictures and see if anything has changed so guys, I've downloaded the pictures on my computer. So these are the pictures that I took after the update, and these are the pictures that I took before the update. So let's put the before pictures on to our left like this, and after we'll be over here. So let's start all right. So now you can see we have before and after like this now at first glance it looks like the picture are taken after the update has better dynamic range.
Now. This is quite evident because take a look at this class and the LEDs inside it and take a look at this one here and by the way both of these pictures are taken in Auto mode. So just so you know- and you can see this jar and these LEDs inside it kind of, looks like it's washed out, but it's perfectly fine over here and yeah. The picture on the right is also slightly more saturated compared to the left one and overall, it's more pleasing to look at. So let's go 100% zoom.
So here we are at 100% zoom, and this is 100% zoom. Now, noise levels I think noise levels. There is absolutely no difference in both of these pictures when it comes to noise levels. Take a look at here, and here it looks like the noise levels are the same, but the dynamic range is better on the picture on the right. So something has changed.
Samsung has tweaked something. So, let's move on to the next picture, so let's again go to a hundred percent zoom and once again 100% zoom. Now here you can see that noise levels are less on the picture on the right. Take a look at this cap here, particularly the edges, this part and take a look at this part here now. It seems like this picture, has less noise and over here also.
So, let's move on down here and here also, you can see that the picture on the right-hand side is slightly more saturated, and it has less noise. So there you have it. The update has improved the camera. Now, let's go 200% zoom here now you can see here also, this is slightly washed out and this is completely fine. Let's go 200% yeah once again, there is no difference in the noise levels.
Yeah I, don't think there is any difference. But if you take a look at this part of the keyboard and this part over here, you will notice that this one is more clear because you can easily read f1 here compared to this one, although that might be due to the stability of my hand but yeah I kind of like what Samsung has done with the camera, and we have another picture.100% zoom here I think this one is quite obvious: the noise levels are less on the picture on the right, but I, don't know how you guys are seeing this because I recorded the entire video in 4k, but this screen capture is in 1080p because I don't have a 4k capable capture card. So let's go back next picture now. Once again, you can see. Dynamic range is slightly better.
The colors are slightly more punchy, but that's 100% ha I. Don't really think there is any difference when it comes to noise levels, I think the noise. It might be more on this picture slightly now coming to this one. So, let's straight away, go to a hundred percent zone, so I don't know this. Both of these pictures look identical, although you can see this part of the computer and this part of the computer I feel that the contrast once again, the contrast and the other dynamic range both are better on the picture I've taken which I've taken after the update, but there's very minimal difference here.
Let's check out that text, so I think this one is better, but nonetheless, both of these pictures are very, very high-quality. The note 9s camera is quite capable, so I think that's it. I've deleted the selfie, because I don't really see any difference when it comes to selfie, I, really I couldn't really figure out both of these, for both these selfies were exactly the same, but anyhow they still picture quality of the real camera looks like they've improved it not so much in the noise level department, but overall picture quality seems to be better because of the better dynamic range and overall, better color reproduction and the even the contrast is better. So there you have it guys. There is a little of difference in the picture quality compared to the previous update, and this update, but I think if you are not paying attention, you won't even notice the difference but yeah.
If you compare it picture side by side, there is a little of difference and I personally feel that the pictures taken after the update are slightly better in terms of picture quality and especially the dynamic range.
