Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs Note 10 Plus Which One Should An Average User Get By URTechSupport

So the Samsung Galaxy note, 10 plus, was one of my favorite devices from last generation. I absolutely loved using that device, and it looks like Samsung's kind of one-upped that device with the Samsung Galaxy note.20 ultra 5g looks like they one up the name as well. That's a really long name, but this device has upped a lot of the key features that made the Samsung Galaxy note: 10, plus such a great device. So for a user looking to purchase one of these two devices, it leaves them wondering what are the key differences between the note 10 and the note 20 and which device? Should you choose we're going to go over all of that today and try to answer as many of those questions as possible, so you can make an informed and accurate buying decision so without further ado, let's get started. So, let's start with some key differences between these two devices, so you can get a better idea on which one is right, for you, we'll start right off the bat with the one that's written directly into the name. You now have 5g capability.

With the new note, 20 ultra 5g now for me at the moment, 5g shouldn't play a deciding factor in what device you choose, because 5g right now isn't readily available to a lot of people and where it is available. The connection is really spotty. You'll get it here. You go down a block, and you completely lose it, but on the flip side, if you really think about it, if you're looking to future-proof your device, if you're holding onto the device for three four five years- and you probably want to purchase a 5g phone now, because within that time I do believe the rollout of 5g is going to become more readily available. Now, where I live, I do get access to 5g signal.

When I notice it everything is moving at lightning speed. It's moving pretty good. It's moving! Really quick and doing testing. I do notice a speed increase over the 4g LTE, but my 4g LTE speeds handled everything that I did on my phone to begin with, watching YouTube videos at a high resolution like 1080p was fine. Now I do notice that bumping up the resolution on a 5g connection to 4k definitely does help having that additional bandwidth.

So if you're, someone that consumes a lot of media, and you want the best quality, you have access to a 5g signal. I know that's a ton of qualifiers, but in that case the note 20 ultra 5g may be the best one for you now. The note 20 ultra screens is also slightly larger at 6.9 inches versus the note 10 plus, which comes in at 6.8 inches. Both are an AMOLED display, but the note 20 ultra pushes a little more pixels, as you would expect from a newer device than the note 10. Does the note 20 pixel count is 3088 by 1440 versus 30 40 by 1440.

So again, if image resolution plays a big factor in the media that you consume and the note 20 ultra definitely has you covered now. One of the things to take into account is that the note 10 plus is slimmer and lighter overall, which makes it a lot easier to handle with one hand, even though these two phones are still pretty big. So if you have small hands, both of them may be to hand phone for you, but with the slimmer and lighter form factor it's easier to carry around and a little more pocketable than the note.20 is real, quick guys. Now, let's get back to the information now another one of the big differences between the two devices is going to be the new 120 hertz, refresh rate on the note 20 ultra now, this video is definitely not going to do that.

Refresh rate justice, but going from a 60 hertz on the note, 10 plus versus a 120 hertz, is really a big difference when you're navigating coming in and out of applications opening and closing applications going into your settings. Now, when you're talking about higher refresh rate on a mobile device, you're you're still not getting a bunch of applications that really support a high refresh rate once you're in the application itself, because it's not the industry standard yet so, where you're going to see some major benefits for this higher refresh rate overall is the overall usage in navigating your mobile device. Now, if you are a gamer, there are definitely some games that will take advantage of the higher refresh rate on the screen, if it's available to you, but if you're, an average user, and you're, not a gamer you're, just going to see those really great benefits on the high refresh rate when you're navigating your device. Now I can't stress how much of a joy it is to navigate through your phone at 820 hertz, everything just seems smoother snappier, all those buzzwords and quicker. It just feels a lot faster than the 60hz display did now.

Of course, you are also getting a brand-new camera system, as well with featuring megapixel camera system that can record up to 8k video. So in comparison, the note 20 ultra has a 12 megapixel ultra-wide, a 108 megapixel wide and a 12 megapixel telephoto, and the note 10 plus had a 12 megapixel wide, a 16 megapixel ultra-wide and a 12 megapixel telephoto, so you're getting a bump in the overall camera system itself. But there's no doubt that, with the higher pixel count, you're going to get more detail in the camera system. It's better at handling shadows is better at handling edges, smoothing out the rough spots. The ability to take pictures in low light does get a bit better overall, and you do have a better overall ability just to take the camera out.

Point it and shoot and get a clearer perspective of that moment that you're trying to capture having that 108 megapixel lens is really great, but I don't think the average user is going to use it to its fullest potential. Most users are probably never going to tweak the format of the camera system itself, and most of them are just going to rock the default settings of the camera, taking it out, pointing it shooting it. But with that advanced camera system, you do get a better overall handle, so a novice to average user can just use that camera system to capture a moment, and then they're more likely to capture that moment. The way they want to capture it instead of the camera not being able to handle that particular perspective now. Another key difference applies to one of the few reasons to really buy a note device over any other phone on the market.

In my opinion, and that's going to be the standout feature, of course, called the s pen, the null 20 ultras s pen reduces the latency to 9 milliseconds versus 45 milliseconds on the note 10 plus. Now, if you couple that with the 120 hertz display, the s pen feels really nice, and it really mimics the feel of pen to paper when you're writing taking notes. If you're a person like me that uses your s pen a ton just to jot down information ideas, it becomes extremely apparent that 9 millisecond versus the 45 millisecond on the note 10 plus, does make a big difference. When I'm writing on the note 20 ultra, I don't feel like I have to adjust my writing style to compensate for the screen and the s pen itself on the note 10 plus. Sometimes it felt like I had to do that had to tweak the way I would write normally just so it appeared on the screen the way I wanted it to the note 20 with its refresh rate and the low latency, definitely gives me the ability to pull it out and write the way.

I would normally write without having to tweak my way of writing at all, and I think that's definitely something that an s pen user, especially a heavy s, pen user, should definitely take into account. So now, let's talk about the all-important battery consumption. How does the battery between these two devices hold up now, even though the note 20 ultra is spotting a larger battery than the note 10, plus a 4500 versus a 4300, you have to take into account that the note 20 ultra has a higher refresh rate on the screen and with a higher refresh rate, is going to come more battery use. So if you're maxing out the ability of the screen to do 120, hertz versus the 60 hertz on the note, 10 plus, then you're definitely going to see a larger battery consumption on the note 20 ultra 5g versus the note 10 plus, and for me with my testing, I realized that you were finishing the day with 15 to 10 on the note 20 ultra versus 20 to 30 on the note 10 plus now granted. Both phones are gonna, get you through a full day of heavy use, because I am a power user.

My phone is always on. I average a lot of screens on time, sometimes three four five hours of screen on time. I know that's a lot, don't judge me. Both phones, like I said, are gonna, get you through a full day, but if you're a person that does other things before you're able to reach a charger if you're not able to readily access a charger throughout the day, then you'll find yourself struggling just a little more with the note 20 than you are going to be. With the note 10 now granted, you can always scale back the refresh rate on the screen itself to conserve more battery.

So if you plan ahead, I think you'll still be fine, but it's definitely something to take into account. Now there are some other differences that I didn't really go into detail about, like there's, a better gorilla glass on the note 20 ultra for increased durability, you're, of course, getting a newer processor with the snapdragon 865 plus, if you're in the states, and one of the bigger things is that Samsung will now support up to three years of updates on the note 20 ultra. So if you're planning to keep the phone for a longer time, you're, definitely at least guaranteed three years of updates. So all that brings us to another question is: do the differences really make a difference which phone is better and why- and I would say, yeah you know the changes that Samson's made to the note.20 ultra 5g make a difference. The higher refresh rate on the screen makes the phone feel smoother.

Navigation feels more fluid, snappy quick and makes the phone just overall feel faster. The better camera system really lends to the average consumer being able to take the camera out and having a better overall chance of capturing the moment. They want the way they want it, while still giving professionals the ability to tweak the camera's performance to their liking and the ability to record high resolution. Videos, 4k and 8k is really a great option and it kind of does future-proof the device and, even though 5g is not really readily available or rolled out to the masses, yet having the ability to access the 5g network in the future, again kind of future-proof this device, if you're holding onto this device for a longer period of time, you want to know that you're able to access some of those higher bandwidth networks later on without having to upgrade the device itself and, like I said, the overall improvements to the s pen, even though it's not sexy or gimmicky the reduced latency really gives an s pen user. The ability to naturally write on the screen, like you would pen to paper, and I think that's something.

That's really important to someone who frequently uses the s pen and I would argue that it's definitely one of the things all s pen users wanted, since the conception of that particular device. Now I love the Samsung Galaxy note 10 plus, but if someone was to ask me which one I would recommend, I would definitely recommend the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 ultra 5g, simply because it's a phone that you can purchase now and not have to upgrade for the next couple of years. If you bought the note, 10 plus now, you're, probably looking for an upgrade next year, so you'd be saving some money now, but definitely spending more later, whereas I think with the note, 20 you're, definitely a little more future-proof than the note 10 plus is they're still both really great phones. But the note 20 ultra 5g overall has those overall improvements to a lot of the core features that really offer a ton to user, and it's probably the best choice between these two devices.
