Galaxy a-50 unboxing that video is coming up right now, let's go so what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology and welcome to my Samsung Galaxy, a 50 unboxing video. It's been a while, since we did a mid-range phone, but today we're gonna cover this one. Let's take a look at the key specifications to get things started. The Infinity you display is onboard 128 gigabytes, a triple camera and on-screen fingerprint sensor. Outscore CPU 6.4 inch full rectangle display, so it doesn't look like we're. Going to have a curved display here: Full HD, Super AMOLED, twenty-five megapixel camera, that's a higher megapixel than the Galaxy S 10.
We have a 5 megapixel, plus an 8 megapixel triple camera here, and what you're going to see is why that's amazing is the price point 128 gigs, like we said already and 4 gigabytes of RAM. You can also get this in 6 gigabytes of RAM as well. Ok, so let's take a look at the price of this phone right here. So this one has already sold millions of units already in India, but over here in the States. It's not widely available, but you can get it on Amazon for 298 bucks here and that's pretty good for what this phone is.
Packing, 334 bucks 339, but the lowest I've. Seen so far was this 298 I'll leave a link down below, or you can pick that one up? Ok! So let's go ahead and get into the contents of the box. Here, it's just one little label right here. We're gonna, go ahead and open this up and reveal ourselves the galaxy a 50. So you can see right there, a 50 just promoting the specs a little more turning it around to the back.
A super shiny phone and Samsung really needed to bring a phone like this because with the honor brand, with Huawei, really bringing nice phones, it was about time we started seeing some nice stuff in the mid-range from Samsung, and they're doing it this year. So this is the International model. So I got this like European charger right here it does come with a travel adapter. If you end up getting the international model, it still works here in the States, but you will have to use a travel adapter to get into the U. S.
outlet, so yeah adaptive fast charging for the galaxy a 50, and then you have an ejecta sim tool right there. Okay, so this box is a little more clever because we have these little inserts than the s10. Where I could, you know damage getting this little booklet thingy out here and let's go ahead and see? What's in here, it looks like you get a case included with the phone. That's always awesome to see. I didn't even get a case with the galaxy s 10 plus there you go Quick, Start, Guide, t information stuff like that in the box.
So just you know your normal stuff, but it's nice to see a case included with the phone alright. So here's a closer look at the phone, very shiny blue phone here, let's go ahead open this thing up, and we'll peel it from here bring it around that pretty nice peel off, but very shiny. Now that camera this design on the back looks kind of similar to a Wally phone right here with the camera off to the left. But we don't see any you know branding anything like that, just Samsung, so very clean and shiny from the back here of the galaxy a 50. Now on the front, there is a little notch up at the top.
It's a tiny teardrop type and let's go ahead and boot. This thing up looks like there's a pre-installed screen protector as well: Samsung Galaxy, a 50 powered by Android and secured by Knox. Now, there's also like an 70 as well as an 880 with like a flip-out camera that comes from the top to give you an all screen design. We might see that on the note 10 crossing my fingers I want to see an all screen on the note 10, but this phone right here just represents some good value. Here.
It's really light too, at 166 grams 6 point 4 inch display. So really you don't get to pay $1000 to get this size of a screen anymore, and it has a higher resolution than the iPhone 10 R as well. Let me set this thing up. I'll be right back when we're in, so we're almost done here with the setup process and I have to say it's very similar to the Galaxy S 10 set up. We do have the one UI on board here as well as Android 9pi, so you can just see a beautiful Super AMOLED display right there and honestly I.
Don't even think it looks that much worse than in galaxy s, 10, not that the galaxy has 10 looked worse, but I'm saying it doesn't look bad by comparison. So this is going to be a really nice phone for those of you who don't want to pay eight nine hundred or a thousand bucks. This is a really beautiful device right here so far, so my first impressions are pretty good for this one. Alright, so confirming the software really quickly, 1ui 1.1, android 9 pi over here on board. It does give you the night mode as well on this device, and it's gonna look great, because this is a Super AMOLED display now you're, not gonna, get the wireless power share feature for this phone.
That makes sense. Let's take a look at the wallpapers, because a lot of Samsung phones have their own set of wallpapers. Let's see how these look for the Galaxy, a 50 and yes got a nice set here a little different from what you're going to get on the s10 series. So I do like what I'm seeing here in terms of that just want to check that out. Let's go over here and take a look, you do have gestures onboard as well, and this is really similar looking to a lot of the Huawei phones, as well as the OnePlus series, with the little infinity you display over there.
Some people might like that other display, where they're kind of bringing the camera up and flipping it around, giving you more of an all screen. But this is a nice touch. If you don't want that kind of thing mechanism on your phone okay. So, let's take a look at the rest of his body, so at the bottom of the galaxy, a 50 you can see that there is a bezel there. The galaxy s, 10 plus, is bezels a lot thinner at the bottom, but some people might prefer that you display versus the Galaxy S 10 series.
You know pill cutout here, so this pill cutout might not be everybody's cup of tea, but some people might like that. You display a little better, so there are trade-offs, but one big trade-off that you get with a lower price point is a plastic body. Now, from the looks of it is looks like a glass phone like you can't really tell, but you could definitely feel that it's a plastic phone that attributes to it being pretty light.166 grams, but also most foams, are in cases these days. So I don't think it's going to be too big of a deal at the back here you can see a pretty flat camera design, and then you got your flash right there right here. We do have ourselves as the volume rocker in the little home button right there.
Big speed button is not on board, which is nice, so you're not gonna, accidentally press the big speed button. We have a headphone jack, USB, C and a speaker down there and up at the top, there's really nothing, but overall I mean for a plastic phone. It feels pretty nice. It looks pretty nice as well. Let's put it in the case, see how it looks in case right there and yeah once it's in a case, I really can't even tell the phone's plastic.
You can really tell when the case is off, though, but still it really gives it. A light feel definitely doesn't feel quite as substantial as a thousand dollar phone. But again this is not what you're looking for when you buy this phone and the design just looks excellent for this price. You wouldn't even be able to tell the difference in price just looking at the design, alright guys. So let's go ahead and open up the camera and see what we get here.
So, let's take a photo really quickly and see how fast that takes the photo. That's pretty good! Now, on the other lens here, it's an ultra, wide and lens here. So a lot like the s10 II it lets you go from the regular wide-angle to the ultra wide-angle. Now, in terms of the software, it looks pretty much identical to all the s10 CERN phones. We do have video slow-motion hyperlapse as well as pro panorama now.
One thing about this phone that you don't get is like the 4k, 60 and stuff like that. So as a matter of fact, its maximum resolution is 1920 by 1080, which is kind of sacrifice. You have to get with such a cheaper phone like this one right here and that might be the dealbreaker for some of you right there. If you wanted 4k video, there are phones at this price point that will give you 4k video. So this might be a deal-breaker here and the Samsung, but still I mean it does have some fun features.
It does have the photo mode, but 1080p at 30 is not that great here when it comes to having the best quality, video and the final sensor is just a depth sensor on here for the galaxy, a 50, so I don't really care too much for depth sensors. They just give you a little more background blur when you're in live focus, but for me, I'd rather have a telephoto as that's. Actually, something could see more often, but I think the camera should be fine overall picture. Quality I have to test it out when I come back with the review in a couple of days here, I'll, let you know how it really does perform, but overall software feels the same I'm just a little bummed out about the 1920 by 1080, it's 2019 Samsung at least throw some cheap 4k in there. Just give it to us, even if it's just 30fps, for example, okay, so the 850 does have the fingerprint sensor underneath the display.
So you just hold your finger down, and it should unlock. It might tell you that you might have to hold your finger down a little longer sometimes, but it will unlock the phone. So it's got that nice tech right inside this $300 phone. So that's pretty cool you're, not gonna, find many phones that give you that at this price point, so I also show mentioned that we have a four thousand William hour battery in this phone, and that is a monster of a battery, especially considering this is only a 1080p display, a slightly lower rant, it's just not as powerful as ds-10 series, so I'm expecting even better battery life out of this phone. So wrapping it up my first impressions.
This just feels like a cheaper version of like a galaxy s, 10 Series phone with a little of a different design here and makes a few sacrifices like the body and the video quality which can be a deal-breaker for some, but still to get the 1ui to get the Samsung experience. All those features that do come with the Samsung phones and not having to pay even more than you know, 350. This might be a nice bargain for people who you know can make those sacrifices are willing to give this one a try. So let me know: did you pick up an 50? Are you feeling it so far? Are you going to pick one up for me? I, don't know if I could recommend it just yet, it seems like it's going to be a good option, but there probably are other options that might be better. Give me a couple of days to get the full review out on this one.
Until then, let me know if you want to see any content with this guy right here thumbs up if you enjoyed it, Nick helping you to master your technology. Thank you very much for watching be sure to be well and peace.
