Emulation On An iPad Pro Is Amazing! 4k GameCube, 5X PSP,1440 Wii!

Hey, what's going on guys, CTA prime back here again today, we're going to be taking a look at some emulation on a non-jailbroken iPad Pro in this video we're going to be testing out PSP using pass we're also going to be testing out some game cube and Wii games using dolphin iOS. Now, like I mentioned, this is a non-jailbroken iPad, and I'm actually running iOS 14.3. As of making this video 14.4 has been released, and if you want to do this, I personally wouldn't update, but this one here is running 14.3, and you can easily get this up and running on your iPad or iPhone using alt store without jail breaking your device whatsoever. Basically, what alt store allows us to do is side load IPAs onto our iPad you'll be using your own iCloud account to sign those, and you can sign up to six different applications at a time with alt store, but they will expire after six days. You can always renew it through alt store, but it's really easy to get up and running I'll leave a link for this. In the description you will need to download iTunes and iCloud, but all the information you need to know is right here and when it comes to running game cube and Wii games on your iPad or iPhone, I personally suggest using dolphin iOS.

This works absolutely amazing on the iPad Pro, but unfortunately it will not work on iOS versions above 14.3, so that's basically to cut off right now as making this video it might change in the future. So if you have an iPad or iPhone that's running 11.4.1 up to 14.3, you can get game cube and Wii games up and running now. The controller I'm going to be using for both of these emulators is a PlayStation 4 controllers, a ds4 controller. If you have an Xbox One controller, it'll also work, but since I'm running 14.3 on this iPad here I can't use the new series s or series x controllers with this. Yet so let's go ahead and start up pass.

As you can see, I got this controller connected over Bluetooth works great with all the emulators that I've tested here now, I'm going to go into settings with this here. I'm at 5x resolution, and I'm using the OpenGL back in- I haven't even tried the Vulcan back in yet because everything that I've tested so far runs at 5x with OpenGL, even the harder to run games. The only one that I could not get up and running was midnight club dub edition as soon as it gets into a game. It crashes on me, but that was the only one. I've been having issues with chains of Olympus and ghost of Sparta run really well on this, even at 5x using that OpenGL back in so let's go ahead and start up, taken, 6, and I'll get right into some gameplay.

Here I already got a save state ready to go 5x resolution, OpenGL no hacks no frame skip and I even left filtering at 16x. I didn't even bother changing it because it runs so well. Fps is in the top right-hand corner here and, as you can see, taken 6 runs amazing. I will be testing out a few more games, I'm going to reposition my camera just to get a better look at it and with each one of these games, I'm still going to be at 5x. I will have box art on screen, so you know what's going on at any given time.

Furthermore, I just wanted to give you an idea of how PSP runs on this, and then we'll move over to game cube and Wii games, press the l button and r button, at the same time to crouch press the x button, while crouching to do a high jump. If you need more ammunition, try purchasing it at a gadgetry vendor, yes fight. Yes, I must return all right. So we know PSP runs great on this device. Now it's time to test out some game cube and Wii keep in mind.

This was side loaded through alt store, let's go into the settings and I just want to show you here with game cube. I was able to go up to 4k when it comes to Wii. I had to stick to 1440p, but really when it comes down to it. This is the best performance that I've ever seen out of game cube and Wii games on any tablet that I've ever tested on my channel. Okay, so here it is fps, is up in the top right-hand corner.

I know it's a bit hard to see with this game, but I will reposition the camera now upscaling this to 4k really isn't doing it justice, because this is in a 4k screen and there's really no reason to go up there, but I still wanted to push this to its limits and if I go above, 4k starts lagging out even with an easier one to run like this one here: soul, caliber 2, but at 4k it even handles the harder to run games like automotive and f-zero go. Here's auto motor list one of my go-to games to test it's just a harder one to emulate with dolphin, especially on arm hardware. Now on the Galaxy Tab, s7, which is the most powerful android tablet right now at the native resolution, it doesn't quite hit 60 we're around 58 every once in a while it'll jump up there. But on a setup like this, we can get 60 fps at 4k using OpenGL, and the same goes for another harder to run game f0gx. Now with this one here lots of effects on screen, especially when you're boosting, if you test this on something like the snapdragon 865 you'll notice, some lag going on, but with this here it's running at a smooth 60.

I mean I'm super impressed by this. I just wish that apple would open these up a little more. They need a switch like developer options and android just to allow us to do what we want with these devices. I mean we're paying our own money for them, but we got to jump through hoops to side load this stuff, and that's really one of the main reasons. I don't cover a lot of iOS emulation on my channel.

So the final thing I wanted to test here was a couple Wii games using the dolphin emulator. I did have to take these down to 1440p because even with sonic colors, I did notice some lag, but at 1440p it runs at full speed, and it still looks amazing on this screen. Huh, um, so, like I mentioned, I just wish apple, would open these up. I mean we do need kind of a setting that we can just enable. We can toggle it to side load stuff.

There's a lot of people out there, that'll never ever enable it. But for me and a lot of my viewers, we would love to be able to easily side load these emulators up on our iOS devices, because after all, they really do have some impressive specs and these things are pretty powerful for an arm powered mobile device. But that's going to wrap it up for this. Video really appreciate you watching. If you want to get this up and running just check out alt store's website, I mean it's free to use.

I would definitely test it out if you're into emulation- and you have an iOS device lying around that's on 14.3 or earlier. I personally don't own any other iPad to test this on. This is actually my wife's iPad right here, but if I can get my hands on an iPad, 10.2 I'll definitely do a little of testing and if it works out I'll make a video really appreciate you watching. If you want to see anything else running on this iPad or if you're already into the iOS emulation scene- and you know an easier way to go about this- just let me know in the comments below after seeing the emulation performance on this thing. I'd personally like to learn more, but that's it for this one and like always, thanks for watching you.
