Comparison: Google Pixel 4a 5G vs Pixel 4a | Google's best Pixels ever...

So you're trying to decide between the 4a and the 4a5g, and you want to know what the differences are. Well, let's talk about that. What's up everybody, this is Scott. Welcome back to another video welcome back to yet again another pixel comparison. It is the Pixel 4a versus the Pixel 4a 5g, but let's be real. The 4a5g is really more like the 5xl or the 5 light XL, because it's got a lot of the same guts and internals as the pixel 5.

If you checked out my last video, I did a comparison between the pixel 5 and the 4a 5g, but I would be remiss if I didn't do a comparison between the two 4a series devices. So, let's just jump into that now. Let's talk about some key differences between the 4a and the 4a5g, obviously size straight up, one of the biggest factors that you're going to notice. The 4a5g is significantly larger. It's basically the XL version for pixel this year there is no 5xl, so the 4a5g is definitely the XL version in terms of the pixel line this year, the 4a, significantly smaller footprint.

By the way, everything that you see here is filmed on the native app all the audio and everything that you hear is specific to both of these devices, I'm going to flip-flop. The thing with these comparison videos I like to show you exactly what you could expect out of both of these um. Obviously, the sun is right up here, so it's kind of the harshest more glaring light, but I don't uh, I don't sugarcoat it. So this is what you get again. Some other key differences, the internals different, the camera's different on the 4a 5g.

You have the ultrawide on the back, whereas you have a single shooter on the 4a, the smaller version, also on the rear facing camera, and we'll talk about this, don't have the ability to do 4k, 60 frames. A second and I'll show you all of that. When I do the comparison of the rear cameras here in a minute, both have a headphone jack, both of them do not wirelessly charge. So if that's a dealbreaker for you, neither one of these devices are for you. However, both of these in terms of price point, are a freaking steal so for 350 bucks you're getting the 4a, which I think is the device of the year in my personal opinion, and the cost of the 4a 5g 500 bucks 500.

So you can get a 5g capable phone with the great pictures from the pixel line that everybody's accustomed to for 500, pretty damn good price in my personal opinion. So now that you kind of have all of that- and I could give you a lot of specs and I might throw it up here on the screen. So you can talk about what some key differences are for the average person or most people. This phone is going to be more than capable for the photos and the videos and the Instagram and the twitter fleets and the gaming that you might do. I play among us on both of these.

I am terrible at the game um. Furthermore, I also play some other games like sports golf related, I'm also terrible at those and the phone works. Just fine, the great thing about these phones is they both sip the battery. Just like the pixel 5. These things are battery champs.

I have no idea how they can figure it out and get away with it, but I have no problems at all. Basically, can go all day being a power user hours worth of YouTube videos watched tons of music streamed. There is no question. These two devices are battery champs. So if that's something that tickles your fancy you're, definitely going to like this too, but now, let's flip to the rear facing camera.

So you can see what the stabilization in the camera looks like there. Okay, now, both of these right here are in 4k 30 frames. A second, the Pixel 4a does not have the ability to do 4k 60 frames a second that is definitely an advantage for the Pixel 4a 5g, because it does have the ability to do this currently- and Google has talked about this before so. The two pixels that I have on the stand right now have both of those crazy video modes that everybody talks about being sent backwards to older pixels. On my 4a right now, I have the ability to do that, so everything you're seeing here has the new video modes in both.

You can see the stabilization from both of these right here again, 4k 30 frames, a second out of both hows, the dynamic range how's, the blue in the sky, how's, the green in the grass how's. The details in both take a look and see what you can see in those. At the exact same time, I can do 2x zoom now both of this telephoto done through the camera app itself. This is what the stabilization looks like on both of these. I mentioned it before the 4a 5g has the ability to have an ultra white on the back, whereas the 4a doesn't have that.

So what I want to do again, you can see the stabilization that it looks like here. Let's go back to the widest shot, I can get on the 4a, and now this is a wide shot. You can see the entire baseball diamond right here, really, really good nice ultra-wide shot out of the 4a 5g. Now this is what the stabilization looks like on 4k 30 frames, a second ultra-wide on the 4a 5g and just regular, wide or just regular, normal shot on the 4a. Now back on the 4a still 4k 30 frames a second, the Pixel 4a 5g.

This is now 4k.30 frames, a second all done again through the native camera, app audio flip-flop. Just like I do every other comparison, video. This is what this looks like how's, the stabilization how's the details. What's the details, take a look like again look at the sky. Look at the clouds! Look at some trees to see how did the shadows? Look? What about the grass how's the detail in the grass see these are the types of things to talk about when you're doing a comparison between these two different devices.

Both of these devices are fantastic stabilization, as you can see unbelievable black magic for 500 bucks. You can get a camera 4k 60 frames, a second great point and shoot all of this.5G enabled crazy, which is really, really good. Now, this isn't to say just the pixels are the only way to go all the prices in the things from a mid-range perspective this year in 2020, has just been phenomenal for devices now that we've done that, let's go take some photos between the two of these and then come back and take a look. What they look like so, okay, now that you've seen a few of those shots and again those are just a tiny amount of shots compared to what both of these can do. Obviously, it's November in Ohio, so there's like no crazy, leaves no nothing like that everything's pretty much dead because everything goes to die in Ohio, but the point of the matter is take a look at some of the details that you're getting in those shots.

I picked that one shot with the stick to specifically see how well the portrait mode could handle blurring out and doing the both effect on everything around it. I didn't think it was a very easy shot, both pixels handled it just fine, so I guess at the end of the day, when I'm kind of talking about which one would I recommend or buy, I still stand by the fact that the Pixel 4a, in my opinion, is the device of the year. The fact that 5g is out there not a big deal to me. I don't particularly think five deals is a make or break this year. So if you're buying a phone, and you're thinking, it's going to be better because it's 5g nope not this year, not in 2020, probably not in 2021.

That's a 2022 problem and much more a few future iterations from here on out, but you can get a ton of potential and a ton of power and a ton of battery life and a ton of great things for a 350 dollar price point. However, for 500, so only 150 dollars more, you can get a 5g enabled again, not a big deal.4K 60 frames a second ultra-wide camera. Both have a headphone jack, both don't wirelessly charge both can fast charge via USB type c and basically get the exact same performance. Oh, and by the way it is the XL model in the 4a5g. So take a look at what your needs are want a bigger screen to consume media.

No question 4a5g want to save a little of coin, like a smaller phone, no question 4a, because again the differences between the two of those in terms of performance, camera battery life are so small. It really comes down to personal preference. I know a lot of people want smaller phones, highly recommend the 4a device of the year, in my personal opinion, best 5g enabled device of the year boy. The 4a 5g is right up there. There's a lot of great 5g, enabled phones, lg velvet, the Samsung folder, even though that's crazy, high expensive, the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro there's a ton of great devices this year that you can get to meet almost all the needs that you have as much as 2020 has sucked for a lot of reasons.

Phones have not been one of them, so that's it! That's all I have thanks for watching and, as always as share subscribe thumbs up, leave a comment below see you next time.
