What's going on everybody Caleb here for a moment in today's video is all about moment, lenses on the pixel for and specifically looking at portrait mode. So it's pretty awesome how you can use portrait mode on the pixel for because it uses high your totally good, basically with our lenses attached to the pixel for you're able to get a different field of views with your portrait mode, so you can get a wider shot, which is awesome and still have that blurry background. You can use our tell lens and get a longer portrait shot. You can even get in metamorphic portrait photo so just wanted to show you quick video today and how you can use our lenses in conjunction with the portrait mode on the pixel 4 and get some pretty awesome results alright. So in order to get some portraits, we got been helping me out today. What's up because, we might remember Ben from the NEAR box video we did but anyways.
Maybe we can swap off. I can take some of you. You can take some of me yeah. Let's get some different settings alright! First up. Let's just do like a basic tree background, because the pixel, when you hit portrait mode zooms in a little already this wide lens, really counteracts that opens up the shot.
A little more plus you get. The blur I think it's a nice I look crazy, but dude depth of field, so yeah on the pixel, for you can also adjust the blur after the fact. So don't get worried if you like, take the photo, and it's like super blurry in the background. There's a setting right on the bottom. I'll, hopefully have some b-roll right here, where you can, where you can adjust the blur amount, which is cool so, okay, so yeah.
So we have been shooting with the wide and the super fish and one of the things that we're noticing is you want to make sure that you're close enough to the subject to be able to have the camera really differentiate between the subject and the frame in the background, so like get close enough to be able to have that depth of field alright, but enough shots of me now, let's go find some objects and see how the portrait mode handles just on basic objects and see if it can detect everything with our lenses as well. We found our subject: we're going to test portrait mode on this telescope right here. I think it's going to be really cool against the background in the water, so Tell it looks sick, the shot. It's its really rad to compare the wide and the tell yeah they both look. Super, super crisp is spotless.
Let's get one more thing: let's go get like something random. Should we get a coffee, your coffee, let's get a star by yourself. What dude I have one PSL a year and today is the day I'm doing it, for this photo. Is that good Bureau? Is this that good b-roll everyone wants so Ben and I got pumpkin spice lattes what's up Ni all, but because we know everyone takes photos of their coffee. Definitely we're going to test this.
This will be kind of the last object test with pixel for portrait mode with our lenses, and then we'll get one without, but yeah got to get that coffee classic coffee handheld shot. Do you know how to do this? I got the wide on right now, I've got my PSL we're inking that classic coffee shot arm out just like, and with the portrait mode it's going to be like pop, and even more so here we go you're ready for this yeah going vertical here got the like little tiny Statue of Liberty in the background, babe, let's get one more just for good, for you know just for safety. Okay, so this shot is sick. It's like I mean this looks like it was shot on the SLR, it's great yeah for sure. Let's test in portrait mode, no lens still looks perfect, but that wide lens really open it up a lot which is really nice, so cool, so yeah we're going to end the video here.
I know this video is really simple. There were a few examples and just some footage of us kind of goofing off and shooting, but really just getting the point across just wanted to tell everybody that pixel for portrait mode with moment lenses. It just enhances that focal length that much more and the wide really fun so check it out, obviously linked below I hope. You enjoyed this kind of quick, video and I. Don't know how quick it was.
Probably ramble a lot but uh thanks for helping better befall, happy, PSL yeah, just hashtag PSL no worries alright. Later.
