BlackBerry Still Makes Phones? Where Is It? By TechOdyssey

Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey, so today, I'm here to talk about the current situation with blackberry, because it's kind of been a while, since we've heard anything from onward mobility, they made the announcement back in August, so we got September October November, December January February, march and tomorrow, actually today this video releases April, it's nine months, so my expectations that I've kind of stuck with from the get-go that I've been telling everyone is typically it takes about eight to ten months to bring a device to market, whether that's apple, whether that's Samsung, that's kind of the timeline that people work with, and you know I know, we've kind of discussed, leaks and rumors, and things like that a little, I don't really buy into them a lot, especially considering this is such a small company it'll be very easy to figure out where the leaks are coming from. It would be counterproductive to you know, I think what they're trying to do so. I haven't really expected leaks to come out like say apple or Samsung, some other ones during this time, but I kind of thought we would hear something by now, and I know that earlier in this year, just a couple short months ago, there was a little of excitement whenever it came to talking about the new acquisitions for government sales for international sales. Talking about the distribution plan, and things like that, so I thought we were kind of getting like just building closer to where we would find out more about this device, and we still have not, so that's kind of what I want to talk about in this video, but before we get into that, I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I don't want to make this sound like I don't think the device is coming, because I do.

Furthermore, I 100 believe that we're getting this phone whenever that may be, but I think that it would be negligent of me at this point to not talk about the possibility of. Maybe it's not going to be here in time, and they said from the get-go. The plan was to have it here, the first half of 2021. , the first half of 2021. I've said this over and over and over is June 30th.

So today is April the 1st we have April we have may we have June. I guess there's still some time left there and, like I said just a few seconds ago, I don't want to paint a picture of it's not coming. It's not going to be here, there's something wrong. I don't believe that I don't have any inside information on that. I'm merely just addressing what I think a lot of people are probably feeling right now, because I have been getting a lot of comments, a lot of messages, a lot of people saying hey: where is it? Where is it? Where is it? I wish I knew the answer to that question because I don't I don't work at all mobility.

I have the information that you have, so there's nothing. That's come out. As far as press releases, there was a tweet that onward mobility put out today right yesterday, now talking about uh, there was an interview with a basketball player who got some recognition for still using a blackberry. Nate Jones is a friend of mine, he's a friend of yours, and he shared with me that um you, you still have a blackberry that you're one of the last people on earth that that that still has a flag. First, can you still? Can you define? Can you defend that? Can you deny that? Can you confirm it? I need to know, can it's the keyboard? The keyboard is just you know.

I ain't got a long spin time keyboard. You got your phone with you. I got it once Eugene Crawford come on man, he said he's loyal. Do you have a blackberry with you? Do you have it my teammates? I couldn't be on the group text, so they had to just send me. You know the stuff on the side cause.

I didn't have it, it was coming up green. Do you have it with you? Can you hold it up? Yeah, yes, please and like Shaw and Charles Barkley were kind of ragging on him and that's something I want to talk about too, because it's very frustrating sometimes being a blackberry fan even years ago. You know people were saying years ago they still make blackberries. I mean we've been dealing with this for a long time right ever since probably about 2013 2014, really people started to get on the bandwagon of they still have blackberries you're still using a blackberry. Blackberry still exist, so I feel, like I spent a lot of years as an ambassador going.

Yes, yes, they do. Yes, they're still here. Yes, there are still blackberries. Please stop asking me this just because you use an iPhone, or you use a regular android phone and not an android phone with the physical keyboard does not mean it doesn't exist and also the other questions like. Why do you still want to use one of those? Well, I've made other videos.

We've talked about this. We know us, blackberry fans know why we love blackberries and physical keyboards, because we get stuff done. Furthermore, we enjoy typing on them. It's a great typing experience. People that don't appreciate them can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that everybody doesn't want to use an iPhone or a slab phone.

They just can't- and I don't know why people have an issue with us in our personal choice, to use a different phone. You know there are battery powered cars. Now, there's diesel-powered cars, there are sports cars. There are economy, cars, there's two-seater cars, there are motorcycles, there's so many ways to get around, but people get their head wrapped around so much around what we're using as a phone with the physical keyboard on it, and it's not dated its something that works really well. I love physical keyboards.

I've been using them for over 16 years, so just like a little tidbit there I thought maybe you all could relate to that. Maybe you all saw the interview. Maybe you saw the tweet that Omar mobility put out. It is a little frustrating in that regard, because here we are on the precipice of when this phone is supposed to be coming out and s2021, and we're still using a physical keyboard and that's great, but other people seem to have problems with that. So I think that that is going to present an issue and I thought about making a separate video.

Maybe I will- but I kind of want to talk about this here, get ready for when this phone does arrive, because I can guarantee you as soon as this gets out in the media outlets about the phone once it finally launches as soon as reviewers get them in their hands as soon as mainstream finds out that, once again, we have a new phone you're going to have to deal with this. Every person that you go and talk to that's, not a blackberry fan is going to go what they still make phones. Why are they still making phones? You still want a physical keyboard. Why? You know these are questions you're going to get, but anyway stand fast, stay strong, they're relevant and enjoy what you enjoy, but getting back to the phone. Yes, I thought we would hear or see something by now and the funny thing with this is, I feel like it's just like the stock market, like I feel like as soon as this video comes out not like a week later onward mobility or somebody will say something.

It's like you know your stock goes down and down. You start getting worried about yourself and then magically it goes up. So it would just be irony if I put this video out and then right around the corner. The phone comes out. So this is not a.

I don't have a vote of confidence for them. This is not, I don't believe them. This is a kind of expected things to be here by now, and I know a lot of the people did too and people been saying for a long time. You know maybe there are problems. Maybe this is going on, maybe that's going on, but I don't buy any of that stuff.

I'm waiting for them to tell us something officially, hopefully the next official announcement is we have a phone coming. Hopefully it's not, you know, there's a delay. Hopefully it's not there's a problem. Hopefully it's not whatever, but regardless of what it is. I still think that we're going to get this phone.

I still think that it's going to be a great phone once we get it. Furthermore, I am really excited about the prospect of using a flagship, android blackberry device with a physical keyboard. That to me is like the best thing that I could possibly hope for, and so many of you can too for so long. We've been handicapped with mid-tier phones or missing features not having the best cameras not having the brightest and best screen, not having good speakers there's so many things and just the promise of having a flagship blackberry. I think that's what's disappointing me and others so much right now, not so much that it's not going to be here, but that it's not here now, and you know sometimes things take longer than anticipated, and I'm not trying to run cover for these guys.

I'm just trying to say I think we're going to be okay, whether it's here on time or not, and I think it's something that I have to address now, because so many people have been saying for so long that you know there are concerns and I think that's valid. Furthermore, I think if you are concerned about where it's at, why it's not here, I think, that's very valid. Furthermore, I think we still have some time left, but I kind of had my own idea on the timelines and when we would be hearing and seeing something, and we pretty much passed all of them, so hopefully we'll hear something soon, hopefully we'll see something soon, one way or the other good bad or indifferent. It's really getting to the point, and I think that we should probably hear something and as fans, I think that would be important as much as they're, making a phone we're the people that are going to buy the phone when it comes out so making sure that you're transparent with your audience and the people that you intend to sell it to. I think, goes a long way with maintaining that rapport, because I have so many people that message me and say: hey, I'm holding out on getting a new phone.

When do you think the new one is going to be here and as much as I want to say soon? I don't know that, so I feel bad, because there are a lot of people that are waiting to upgrade their phone. There are a lot of people who are using their blackberries on ATT and are getting kicked off the network. There are a lot of people who are using blackberry who see the end of life window coming at the beginning of January 2022. So this is a very, very sensitive time for blackberry users, because we want to know where our next phone is coming from, and we've kind of expected it to be here, because we were told the first half of 2021. Yes we're not over, yet I mean we haven't passed the halfway mark, but if they're going to have it out sometime in the near future, you know this stuff takes time.

It hasn't passed through the FCC. There are no leaks and rumors there are no images out there, there's no plan that has been put out as far as an announcement or anything like that so yeah. Those are question marks that are hanging out there, that you know pry on our memory and pry into our mind and say: hey. You know there are seeds of doubt here. So I think that it's important to address that.

I think it's okay to talk about it. Do I still think the phone is coming? Yes do I have doubts about this phone existing and that it's going to come to fruition? No, I don't, but when you look at the calendar- and you see where we're at now, you kind of have to start looking at these things and say: hey: are they going to be able to make it on time? And hopefully they are hopefully like? I said hopefully I'll put this video out and there will be something new that comes out just around the corner, but in the reality of things, I think it's important to talk about this and address it because we're waiting on a phone- and I want as much as you do and there's a lot of people out there that are waiting to upgrade phones, or you know- might want to pick up an interim phone as they wait for the new one to come out. People are putting their lives decisions on hold regarding what they're going to do with their phones waiting for this phone. So you know, hopefully something will come out soon and people can have an idea of when the phone will be available, or maybe we'll get a surprise, and they'll be like here. It is, and then that would be even greater so uh.

This is not like, I said intended to be a negative video. It's just yeah gotta address the elephant in the room. I get bombarded with questions and concerns from people all the time and that's kind of where I'm at I believe it's coming. I believe that they're going to make a phone I'm just kind of curious where it's at, and I'm sure you guys are too. So.
