BlackBerry Livestream! Red KEY, BlackBerry Stock, OnwardMobility

Okey-dokey and we should be live now so happy Sunday to everyone and welcome to the live stream. Now the live stream is going to be a little shorter tonight, I'm not going to be able to do an entire hour, but I will be here for half an hour and just so you know the level of commitment that I have to being here this evening. My food is going cold on the table in the kitchen right now it took me longer than I thought to get some food cooked. So I made some homemade beans. I made some prime top sirloin steak and I also made some rice to go along with it and I got about five bites of it and had to run out here. So I'm here for you guys tonight, and I have a special guest in the house.

The red edition, blackberry, mobile ke2, so ta-da good, audio, good camera, good light, sweet, thanks, differ and I've got my other light on right there too. So that should make things a little better, so hopefully you're all having a fantastic weekend ready to get back to uh. The real deal tomorrow and yeah last weekend. Sorry, I wasn't here for my live stream. I was actually out of town.

I was in Las Vegas for a few days. Furthermore, I was shooting some stuff out there, but it was a good time and got a lot of good video footage because I've been testing out and reviewing the OnePlus nor duh n105g so got that going on uh. Furthermore, I've already done my. What did I do? I did the video game review on it show off the gaming. I did the unboxing and first impressions, and I've got a vlog video for that one to show off the video camera capabilities and also the full review coming up this week as well.

James Herrera, hey, what's going on h, town friend, h, town represent a lot of people in here so far, tom c hello, hello, Tyler, lower sonar, capital, hello, thanks for being here, Joshua Campbell, sierra jet differ, Jaden Robertson, charlie trains, UK Dr pessimal Reid and Mario her had to get a pixel today as there's no clarity on the new blackberry. Well, you know, I don't blame you at all, especially if you needed to get a new phone and the pixel is definitely a very good one. I love the pixel lineup of phones, especially the pixel, 5, totally love that one. So let me see what's going on what do you think of the Samsung s21 ultra? I absolutely love the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra, and I've been using it for the last couple of days. I got it a day before launch because I pre-ordered it and this phone right here is amazing, and it's great starting off 2021 with such a good phone, it's hard to say phone of the year when we're only a month into the year, but this one right here, man, it's good! Furthermore, I like it a lot.

Furthermore, I have to wait two years to come back to blackberry, and I'm sorry to hear that Mario, hopefully something works out, and you can get back in the blackberry family sooner than that Edwin Merced, no key3, so yeah, there's no here's the thing! Everybody keeps calling it the key three, the key. Third, the key three was a naming scheme that blackberry mobile came up with, so they have the key one. The key2 key2le, whatever this new phone is going to be, is going to be a name construct that comes up from onward mobility in blackberry, I mean, if you want to call it the key three just to attach a name to it. That's fine, but this one won't be the key three, that's not something that is going to be carrying over, and I'm hoping they come up with a perfect and uh unique for it unique name, um, honestly, I'd really like them to call it the blackberry renaissance. I think that that would be a perfect name.

I might have to throw that their way and see what they think about it. But you know, usually, whenever we talk about blackberries, they've got perfect. Iconic names, the classic, the bold the curve, the passport like usually the ones they have that actually have names, are pretty good phones, so um, maybe I'll talk to them, be like yeah. They should call it the should call it the uh, the renaissance. That would be neat, but it will have 5g.

It will be running android. It will be supposed to be the most secure phone in the world. So I'm looking forward to that Charles Kramer. What are your thoughts on the velvet? I think the velvet is a great phone. I reviewed it.

Furthermore, I tested out and made a lot of videos on it perfect device, especially for the price and, if you're, even looking for something that might be better like modality wise with the about the different modular capabilities, is the lg wing, and I got some confirmation on this last week, I'm going to be getting the lg wing, so hopefully we'll be here in the next couple of days. Furthermore, I'm really excited about that. Furthermore, I was hoping to get on the bandwagon like earlier on um. It just took a while for it to finally trickle down to my level, but I will be getting that, hopefully in the next couple of days that's going to be exciting, because it's, I mean the lg wing is basically the lg velvet that top screen just swivels out. So I'm looking forward to that- and I don't know what everybody's got going on tonight, but I'm drinking a Pepsi cola made with real sugar, which is amazing.

I love the sodas that have real sugar, they're they're, perfect. Let me see here a couple more questions. Tom c, I love my bold, my classic yeah totally. Those are two awesome phones and uh. I think my guess is that whatever this new phone is going to have like gonna look like, I think it's going to have some bold or some classic DNA in it.

I think that that's probably the smartest way to go from utilitarian like perspective, but also from a familiarity perspective, and it's funny I actually ran into somebody at Best Buy today and yeah. Furthermore, I go to Best Buy and I hang out there, and I look at all the stuff, even though I go there like three times a week and just walk around and look at things. Even though there's nothing new, and I ran into somebody today, and they were. I was looking at cases because my wife has an iPhone 11 Pro max, and she wanted to get one of the apple silicone cases, but she didn't like the black color, so we're looking on the other aisle and somebody comes up to me and like hey. What cases are those and ended up taking them over to the case aisle to be like? Oh here, here's where your phone cases are at and while we were talking because she currently has like an iPhone uh 11 pro max, she was like yeah.

I really miss blackberry. I wish we had another blackberry like I, I can't wait for the next one to come out, and I'm like. Oh hey, like oh, let's talk about some blackberry stuff and I pulled out the uh, the red ke2 and showed that off, and she was like. Oh my gosh, that's amazing! I can't wait for the next one, so you know that that was fun for a minute um. Let me see here: Edwin Merced, yeah blackberry stock.

So I will talk about this for a second just because it's one of those I mean it's a really important topic right now and everybody may not want to talk about blackberry stock, but things have been crazy. The last couple of weeks. So if you all been paying attention to blackberry stock just a couple of weeks ago, it was only like barely five dollars a share, and then they started announcing all these different things like the partnership with Amazon and then the sale of the patents and then the other stuff. So that was a catalyst to start fueling some of this momentum behind the stock, but then with the whole stock market thing with this Wall Street bets and AMC and GameStop stock and all that other stuff. So there was a couple different stocks that these guys from the Subreddit Wall Street bets were like really doubling down on and pushing.

Of course, the GameStop ones because of the short positions were just through the roof, so they're doing the uh, the short squeeze on that driving up the price and holding it- and you know really cashing in and the people over there were not just pushing uh GameStop stock, but also AMC, blackberry, stock and uh Nokia and a couple other ones as well as Bed Bath and Beyond at Dillard's, and it's funny because they're like oh, this is terrible, but I mean you can go out online and look and type like you can search for most shorted stocks. It's very easy to do, and you can see the ones that were there and the scheme that they put together. I mean when you talk about there's a lot of people. This Wall Street bet Subreddit has got like over four. I think it's close to six million people now.

So when you have that level of money and commitment and the coordinated effort, I mean they shot this stuff up through the roof. So I plan on making another video to talk about the blackberry stock um. It's very important because here's the thing it was pushed by Wall Street bets, but before it was pushed by those guys there was legitimate increase in you know the momentum there, like the price, was going up because of all the positive news that blackberry had. So I think that you know whenever it left off at like 12 14 15 bucks, it's probably still a very safe position and likely my guess- and this is not stock advice. This is not me telling you what to buy what to put in your portfolio prospectively.

I think that probably it will still go up a little more and if this trend from last week continues with everything that's going on in the volatility, it may be some spikes, but if you're going to enter, you know get into a position with blackberry stock. That's totally your own! That's your call, I'm not telling you what to do! I'm not suggesting what to do. This is merely just a talk about what happened, so I'm going to leave that one behind and start talking about something else. That's really cool, which is the blackberry key2, but the red edition, and I have my silver one here, which I absolutely love. I love the silver one this red.

One, though, is fantastic, and fortunately I was lucky enough. A friend of mine has one and was like yeah I'll. Let you borrow it for a couple of weeks, and you can make some videos and show it off, because I've always wanted to get my hands on one. I did get to see one back at CES 2020 because they had it on the display at the blackberry mobile exhibit. But this one right here I mean it's really cool.

I got to send it back here, another week or two, but yeah really, really neat phone. Let me answer the couple questions good evening, Adam. You think the full three will have an IP rating and what upgrades from the second one, I think I'll wait for this year, yeah. So when it comes to the fold three, the biggest upgrade is going to be the s pen support, I'm hoping they make the screen a little wider, but honestly they probably won't. I don't know anything about the leaks or the rumors.

I would say no, that it won't have an IP rating just because I don't see them really doing much of an improvement to the hinge and when you have all this stuff going in going on with the hinge and the inside, it's just if it's just something, I don't think they're going to be able to make water tight, at least not in its current form. So I would not expect the fold three to have an IP rating, but um I'm hoping for better battery life, I'm hoping for more improved cameras, and I'm hoping for uh. You know the s pen support, I think. That's really the big thing and the full two was such a tremendous upgrade that yeah it felt like a really complete phone. It was the most one of the most improved generational upgrades that I've ever seen.

So I was really happy to see that I love my fold too for the most part other than you know. I get stuck using this small screen and I never open it up all the time just because if I'm always so busy and I don't really sit around and have time to open it up and play on it, but yeah it's a very complete phone. So adding the s pen support very logical, and I'm curious to see where it goes. James, Herrera, big question: do you have an iPad and which one? No, I don't. I did have one, but I gave it to my son and that's just the regular 10.2 edition. I don't really for me see the need for a pro or an air just because I don't use my tablets that much, and I have my tab, s7 plus, which is what I make all of my thumbnails on.

So it's mostly indispensable to me and I just picked up the 2020 Samsung Galaxy Chromebook in red, totally love it, and also that has s pen support. Of course, 4k screen lots of good stuff, so I tried making some thumbnails on it and when I went to Vegas last week, I took it with me and that's that's what I use while I was there, and it worked out pretty well on his armor mobility, going to build the next blackberry with all bands to work with us carrier. So, Michael Loki when it comes to that one, the bands are usually built. It's the modem. The modem is what controls all that, the modem, and it's usually it's part of the chip.

So the system on a chip soc, and generally they have a certain set number of bands that they support. So that's why you can't make older phones work with 5g. You have to use whatever the antenna is. That's in there, so you can't get like the blackberry key2 and then make it work with 5g. So the chips themselves and the modems are what dictate the bands, if they're, using a relevant Qualcomm chip, which I'm assuming it's probably gonna, be one of a seven series or maybe and eight series chipset.

Most of those support. All the common bands, especially since this is going to have to be an unlocked phone. I know when I talked to peter before he said that they were in talks with all the major carriers in the US. I don't know if that's going to come to uh, if that means they're going to actually be on the carriers, but they're at least talking to them so from the United States or North American market. Furthermore, I don't think that you should have any problems with network bans whatsoever, and then it's going to have 5g.

So that's going to be good too, as long as it doesn't have the x55 modem, I'm really hoping it has the newer one, that's built into the soc, so we'll see what happens there, but I expect it to have perfect network uh compatibility. There's one dude watching my YouTube: video on a Bros device shout out to him: hey if you're able to watch this on a Bros device and more power to you, Texas, marine, using a 12-pro max for work and a key one for daily, with a s20 ultra as a backup. That's what that's one! Heck of a backup man, but the s20 ultra, very, very good phone. My son, I gave mine to him. He had a s10 prior to that, so the s20 ultra was a big upgrade for him, and he likes that a lot and I just upgraded my other son.

He had a s10, and we're able to trade that into T-Mobile give us 800 bucks. I mean the phone's not worth anything near that, so I traded that in and got the s20 plus for him, and then I've got the s20 ultra. But yeah sounds like you're pretty loaded out when it comes to phones, there uh half hammed, I'm still using a key one. Well, I'm glad you're still able to use that, and it's working well for you, my only problem with the key one like I like it just fine, but it hasn't, got a security patch since, like april 2019 so yeah I really don't feel like they supported that um. Well enough and ditched it a little too early, and it's in its life cycle, especially considering how things are going um.

Let me see here I got a buddy down in Rio has been there for two months: hey Rio is great uh. I went to Rio de Janeiro for a week back in 2011, and it's beautiful Hastings. I love my PRI good. The PRI is a great phone, I'm glad you're enjoying it. It should keep you warm during the winter, Jonathan 64, gigs of storage, so the blackberry, ke2 uh, the red edition is actually 128, as opposed to the regular ke2, which is 64.

Edgar hello from Canada. Thanks for being here tonight, should we expect a passport to Wiley coyote? No, I don't think so um. So the information that was put out- and when I talked with peter is this- is going to be a new keyboard. This is not going to be one. That's been seen before, so they're it's.

It should be a new form factor. It's not going to be a passport they're, not they're, not using a previous phone and just upgrading it they're, making a new one link hello thanks for being here watching on the blackberry, z10a Han, hey! Well, that's cool! I'm glad! You're able to do that still if they did something like the lg wing, but with a physical keyboard slide out yeah I mean that could be cool. I certainly would not uh be upset about that, I'm hoping that they'm hoping they come up with something creative. Here's the thing. Whenever people look at buying this phone like die, hard blackberry people are going to buy it anyway and, of course, that's who they're marketing towards, but then um also from the professional or the government and enterprise perspective.

You know something. That's not too crazy is probably going to be the safe bet, but if you want to get new people on board, it's gonna need to be cool. So if they can find some way to do some sort of slider technology, then I think that that would be a win in a lot of different categories, because you still as long as you don't compromise on the keyboard, because the keyboard on the PRI, I totally hate it- the physical keyboard one. So if they can find a way to make the keyboard work as well as it would normally work otherwise, but still add in something like a sliding or a swiping or a rotating screen, then that would be cool one on Amazon to buy red ke2 yeah there's. So they are a lot uh.

I would like to buy one myself uh just so I can have one for my own personal collection, but they're just so expensive, and you know they there weren't a lot of them were that were made and the people that do have them. Yes, are asking a lot of money recently broke my note 9 and switched back to my old key one. Some lag issues, but it will keep it until our mobility releases are blackberry, missed the keyboard yeah. So the key one um, it's a reliable phone. It works well and of course it's running android 8.1, it's not the latest and greatest, but you still get that best-in-class physical keyboard and I thought the keyboard on the key one was pretty good. So you'll be.

You should be all right there for the next couple of months until the new one, technically speaking, the Scott peachy, thanks for being here tonight and real talk, and you know what devices I rock with. Would I like the blackberry ke2, you probably would not um just because of the processor and the operating system? Like that's the biggest point of frustration that I have at this point in time is yeah. It's great. I love the physical keyboard. I love the phone.

The form factor is not bad. It's gorgeous looking, but then, when you fire it up, and you're using android 8, and you have these capacitive buttons down here, you don't have the swipe gestures and all that other stuff. That's what frustrates me the most, because I'm using these other phones all the time that are all swipe, gesture based and then switch over to my key two, and then it's like all right. Well, let me go back to hitting the capacitive buttons and the older software again so, and it's its not as fast as what I'm used to or what you're used to I'm used to using top of the line flagship technology so going from a snapdragon 888 or going from a fold to or going from an iPhone 12 Pro max and then picking up a key two yeah. It's it slows me down and the older operating system with the capacitive buttons and no swipe gestures is its kind of frustrating.

If it at least have the swipe gestures, I could overlook some other stuff, but uh it's just too much it messes with my brain. When I'm switching all the time Michael Cochran, I might actually be less expensive to oh, it might be less expensive to make a lg wing with the keyboard base. Yeah, I don't know um lg put that device together and the company that's putting this together is Foxconn. I don't think they had anything to do with the lg wings. So I doubt we're going to see that.

But you know from another perspective, I think that I think that whatever they make is going to be a good phone, and it has to be if they're saying it's going to be flagship. Caliber they're saying it's going to have a flagship, camera they're saying it's going to have great battery life. It's going to be running android, it's going to have a physical keyboard, it's going to be running 5g, so all that stuff tells me that it should be a very capable phone and I think that whatever they put together will probably, I think, it'll work well as long as there's plenty of ram the all mobility blackberry should be enough. Yeah uh, this the four gigabytes they had on well, the originally key one had three gigabytes, and that was not enough, and then they came out with another edition with four which was improved, but it still wasn't ideal uh. The six gigabytes on the key2 is definitely the way to go.

Well was the way to go this one I will hope will have at least eight like it is. It really needs eight gigabytes of ram hi from Europe by the way. Oh, thanks a lot Augustine thanks for being here tonight or today. Your time are actually probably just really late. Your time.

If blackberry phones lost the pentagon contract, what does U. S. military um whenever I retired three years ago they were switching over to iPhones. So my guess is that most people in the military are the issued. Phones are our iPhones? Have you done any reviews on gaming phones? Well, here's the thing uh Charles! I have reviewed a lot of phones from a gaming perspective.

I don't really believe in just regular gaming phones, because other flagship phones do pretty much everything already. So when you look at like the Samsung Galaxy s20 note, 20 ultra s21 ultra, you look at um. You look at the iPhone. You look at some of these other very capable phones. They already run everything maxed out like if you get a s21 you're going to be able to play any game, that's possible fully maxed out, and you have 120 hertz refresh rate, all that good stuff plus you've got great battery life.

So um there's very few like true dedicated gaming phones like you're, looking at like the ASUS republic of gaming 3 phones, but I don't know I yeah they are they're the best whenever it comes to actual gaming, but with the availability that other phones are at and the other things they bring to the table. Personally, I would just go with a s21 ultra over a republic of gaming phone s odor, so I have a PRI it's lit literally. Yes, it's a good phone. I had the print for a long time. Slider function was great, but the keyboard, especially on the edge, was mushy.

That was the thing the phone was laggy, the PRI it is just didn't do well, because one the battery life was not great and then the heat issues with the processor just made that even worse and yeah the keyboard on the PRI was just. It was spongy, it was spongy, and it was soft. It was not. I never liked it, and it was just annoying having to swipe up all the time and then, when you did slide the phone up the screen, the phone was so tall. It just really didn't make for an enjoyable process, so they need to do something to address that.

Should we still expect the new device yeah I mean, there's been no update, Wiley and they said first half of 2021, first half of 2021 gives them until June? 30Th I mean tomorrow is February the first, so I think they're still on their time frame. Recently I made the video they've hired the new couple of positions, so I would imagine that they're probably going to get ready to bring this thing out in the next couple of months. I'm hoping that we hear something soon and as soon as we do, I will of course share it. Uh em, elfin, uh, sorry, late to the party. Here's anybody that prefers a physical keyboard missed a swipe to type with screen keyboards.

Recently we got the classic from eBay and right now, it's just not possible yeah the whole swipe to type thing. I'm not big! On that, anyway, the only time I ever really use it is for one-handed use, which it does work good for that, but otherwise I prefer straight up just typing: why does Amazon sell the blackberry q2 red at high price over a thousand dollars, so they're, not the ones selling that um that's an individual. So when it comes to that phone, I mean it came out over two years ago or right about two years ago, and they don't have any new ones out on the market anymore. So, in the end, whenever it comes to that new uh when it comes to selling those, it's just somebody selling theirs on Amazon, which is why it's so expensive, they were very few in production. There's not a lot of them.

It's a special red edition. Blackberry has not made a phone in over two years, so if they're just trying to squeeze the money out of somebody who's willing to pay for it, I mean, especially if it's a know kind of a collector's item. Why would you sell it for less I mean? Surely they'll probably come down on price a little over time, maybe but um yeah, that's the thing, and I've looked at picking one up myself and no I'm not paying a thousand dollars for it. Uh IAN, I'm not a mobile gamer, but how many games these days actually take advantage of hybrid? So it's not! The panel itself is fine um, regardless of whether whatever you play on there is going to use the 120 hertz refresh rate as long as it's enabled. So it's not, it doesn't have to be programmed specifically for the refresh rate.

The refresh rate is just it's the display technology. So if you've got a game that you're playing on your phone and your 120 hertz is enabled it's gonna, it's going to show. At that rate, if I end up hating my pixel 4 I'll switch 4a I'll switch back to the key2 yeah. The Pixel 4a is such a good phone, though uh went from Samsung to lg. Lg makes solid stuff, I'm really concerned about them, because there's right now, things are not going good for lg and I didn't realize how bad things were going.

But if you look at the announcement that they made they've lost over 5 billion dollars in the last five years, approximately on their phone division and lg is otherwise a very healthy and profitable company. So it's costing them a ton of money to drag along these phones that are not selling, so they said that they might be willing to uh, sell the handset division to someone else, or they might exit the handset division altogether or um. Maybe they might make it uh. You know a smaller footprint and not make so much stuff, so you know we'll see just curious to see what happens to them moving forward. This exceeds my knowledge, but some people know how to program the phone to use part of the SD card.

Uh yeah, here's the thing, the ram, that's in the board, you're talking about virtual cache is what it's doing and windows used to do this, where it would use a portion of your hard drive or your storage space as a supplement for the ram. But the problem is even if you're able to do that. The memory speed is very, very much faster than the hard drive speed. So if you were to use it, for you know basically additional cash to your ram, it would not run as fast, so it would. It would not be good link.

I don't think lg will continue with phones much longer yeah, I'm worried they won't, and they said that they're committed to still bringing out this rollable phone, which I think is supposed to come out in the next couple of months. Um and I lost my contact with lg. So I don't know, I don't know if the rollable phone's still even going to happen with this latest revelation from them, and I'm really hoping to I'm hoping it does. I'm hoping they can find some way to fix things and to find a way to be profitable and that's the thing they don't market. Well, the phones they make they.

They rely on these different things like gimmicky little features and if they just made whittled down the software experience, got rid of their dumb overlay and just did a stock android experience and made a decent flagship phone that was no frills and sold it a good price. I think they could compete and, of course, market it. They don't market. So that's one of the big things um. Let me see, I'm back.

Welcome back Michael, is the red key to you: have a dual sim and the 128 gigabyte uh. I don't think it's a dual sim. I popped it open the other day. Furthermore, I believe it's just the single sim model, it's not the dual sim, but it does have the 128 gigabytes of storage. Furthermore, I dropped my sim card yeah.

No it this one's, not dual sim. It does have the SD card slot on it, though, so I mean that's cool, and I believe this is the 128 anyway. I don't think they made a 64 gig version of this, but I'll look: storage, storage, yeah, this one's 128 gigabyte model. That's what I thought! That's what I've been telling people it was anyway uh and loving your new setup with the chair. Oh,, thanks! Yeah! Actually I've got to do my review on this, but these people um easy six uh.

They sent me this chair out to review, so I've got that I've got that coming soon currently have a g7, hey. The g7 is a good phone uh. That was actually my number one phone pick for uh for 2019, so I thought they did a perfect job with the g7 ram. Emanuel, hey thanks for being here. I just realized that was yeah.

I was reading the thing and not reading the name and uh. Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to be on here much, much longer holy cow. I don't know what that translates to um, but yes, whatever that currency is uh. Thank you very much unit and thank you. Thank you for the super chat.

I appreciate it fan from India remembered you were looking for the blackberry evolved and been looking for that phone on resale yeah. I can't find one if I could find some. If I could find one somewhere, I would totally buy it because it's basically the key2, but without the physical keyboard on it is was supposed to have that all touch screen and the snapdragon 660 six gigabytes of ram, and I was very, very interested in it whenever it came out so yeah I if I can ever find one I'll, definitely pick it up. Blackberry passport is still the best device. I've ever owned rock solid heart.

You know there's a lot of people that I talk to that are still like yeah. I really love the passport. It was such it was such a good phone and yeah. It really is, and my wife, even though she's using the iPhone 11 Pro max now um she still misses her passport. So even she is looking forward to the new one coming out.

Uh, let me see is the blackberry. Is new blackberry by automobile onward mobility going to have a physical keyboard uh? So, yes, I can confirm that it will have a physical keyboard SD card slot. I can't confirm that just because I don't know, but considering blackberry is typically known for productivity and for business and for getting stuff done, I would imagine that it will have a SD card slot. I can't see them making one and not. That really seems like one of the things on the checklist of stuff they're supposed to have.

I don't see any point in lg pushing the rollable phone. I think there's a harsh reality yeah and that's the thing if you look at what Samsung and Apple are doing now like they were pushing the super high price range for their flagship phones, and now they're, doubling back around and trying to scoop up some of that mid-tier market, where it was uh where it was left uh vacant by them. So there was like a window of opportunity that a lot of companies had to try and capitalize on the mid-tier market, and now, Samsung and Apple are really pushing those as well. So any company that is making phones right now has really got to compete. Really.

Well, greetings from Monterey Alberto thanks for being here what f o s, so the new blackberry will be running. Android they've already confirmed that uh. I believe a hundred rupees is about a buck. Fifty yeah, I figured that was rupees, but either way. I don't care if it's 25 cents, or it's you know a hundred dollars anytime.

Anybody makes a super chat donation. I really appreciate it because you don't have to do that. I do this. Furthermore, I like to do it on Sunday kind of into the week recap get ready for Monday, and just you know Saturday is the day I like to take off um, even though I did make two videos yesterday. Normally on Saturday, I don't make videos, and I'm trying to get back into that anyway, like I need a day off during the week to take off.

So usually that is Saturday, but I don't put any pressure on myself to make videos on Saturday, but if I do, it's just an added bonus so um I did. I did that and I made one today uh. I definitely have a video coming out tomorrow. So you all can look forward to that uh thanks a lot also for uh crazy Brazil from the for the super chats. I appreciate that is the iPhone 12 waterproof so um in the sense that you're looking for asking yes uh, it's ip68, Dustin water resistant that gives you it can be submerged up to six feet, two meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

If I remember correctly uh do you what do I think of the Sony pro phone? Well, I like what the Sony brings to the table, but the 2500 price point is not if it's the phone that it was based off of is not selling. Well so adding the features they did not optimize it, and it's still missing other stuff, that's cool! You can use the phone as an external monitor but 2500 that that ain't it at all, I don't get it go flow, backward classic, fell flat, face flat and now screen just black. Oh, that's terrible! Oh, the only redeeming factor there is that you can pick one up relatively inexpensive, uh online Charles Kramer, so I switch back to lg. Why is your switch back to lg the SD card slot uh, Fernando Villanueva, hello, very good, thanks for being here tonight and on mobility needs to design their own android OS? Yes, so I'm really hoping their trying to position themselves once again as the most secure phone in the world. That's awesome.

I'm glad that they're doing that, but unfortunately that means probably slower updates and they better be on top of the monthly security updates, or I personally will be very mad just because I don't think I don't think you can hold yourself out as the most secure phone in the world if you're not at least putting out monthly security updates. I mean yeah they'll do the hot fixes and the hot patches when those are necessary, but they've really they've got a lot of rehabilitation. They need to do their image in the smartphone industry so that that's something that's priority. Number one and wow we've got 83 people in here right now, so for all of you who are here tonight. Thank you so much for being here thanks for taking the time to stop by and talk blackberry and just talk about stuff in general.

So I really appreciate it of course uh if you're here, and you have a good time hit the like button. If you want to get updates and notifications for when new phone new videos come out, then subscribe. Also, memberships and super chats are open as well. Let me see uh yeah same agreed about the price for the Sony pro phone kind of like the look, but also to what you said. Yeah, I like the phone.

I would love to get my hands on one. I think it has some real world applicability for people like me who do this stuff all the time, and I don't like to use regular cameras. Furthermore, I would much rather use a smartphone for everything. So if I could use a smartphone for everything, then that would be amazing, but I'm not paying twenty-five hundred dollars. For that, and I mean I would even contemplate that like if there was a phone that was so powerful and so well-built out to do everything I needed to do on it sure yeah I mean I would save me money.

It would save me time and I think that it could be a really nice thing to have, but that phone is not worth 2500 for anybody. Charles Kramer, not a big iPhone user went to Samsung now back at lg, oh well, hopefully you're enjoying it. Um lg actually made some perfect phones. This year I was a big fan of the v60, a big fan of the velvet, and I'm looking forward to playing with the wing whenever it gets here, I'm hoping they bring back their own Bros, yeah, so blackberry. I honestly, I think the way to go in the future is for them to uh to make their own OS again to be truly secure, and I don't even think it needs a bunch of apps.

I think people are past caring about the idea of having a phone that may not have all the social media stuff. If blackberry were to make like blackberry, 11 or whatever, they wanted to call their operating system to where it's a completely closed setup- and you know it's secure- you know google's, not tracking you, you could use BBM or whatever else on there if they made their own truly like secure phone. I think a lot of people would really be happy about that and would have no problem in picking one up. The problem was before they were trying to make a consumer phone that was also secure and they just couldn't get enough apps on there. So then it failed that prong and then also people were ditching BBM and going to other different chat services, so um yeah they failed at what they were trying to do.

Had they kept it where it was isolated and absolutely secure and didn't worry about that stuff then yeah, I would totally use that on for a day-to-day phone. I would be very happy with it uh when all road sells. Blackberry motion is like blackberry, z10 um. No, the new blackberry is gonna, have a physical keyboard. It won't be like the z10.

A lot of free publicity this week for sure oh yeah, I mean this last week with everything that happened with the stock, like really drew a lot of attention back to blackberry, like a lot of my videos, have been getting a ton of uh extra traffic right now and even the blackberry, ke2 video that I put out like two days ago. It sits over like 15 or 14 000 views in two days right now, which is like astronomical for me and uh. You know I'll try to stay on here, a little longer um. I ended up pinching this nerve in my neck this last week, so I've got some herniated discs in my neck and I aggravated it, and I've been in a lot of pain all week. So I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do the live stream or not tonight.

But here I am, I was planning on doing half an hour, but I'll go a little longer, it's better than it was on like Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday, but it's uh. It's still not comfortable. Right now really wanted a blackberry, OS 7.5 yeah, and they could do it very easily like they could make a dumb down very efficient operating system that just if they just put a decent browser on there and uh some other tools where you could use it, then you know that would be great, but uh yeah. I don't see that happening immediately, but there's gotta be some conversations going on in Waterloo because I think the writing is on the wall with the need for that. Back in the smartphone industry, blackberry passport's, still incredible, yeah fantastic phone uh blackberry should use Linux.

I mean Linux is not bad. Charles MCE I've never really tried. Samsung had Sony opera, iPhone, blackberries. Of course, yeah um Samsung makes some perfect phones, Fremont pathfinder. I have a blackberry, key2 and love it.

Yes, the key2 is very good um. I'm really looking forward to the next phone that comes out for sure love the red one. We don't find that when we see, I think the next blackberry will be a success of all the current smartphones yeah. I think that, right now, and I've talked about this before- I really do believe that this is like the right time for blackberry to uh to hit the market again with the smartphone, with the security issues with people. You know everybody knows synonymous with security.

Some people still love the physical keyboard. Some people are looking for something new, there's new form factors coming out that aren't just these regular candy bar phones anymore. So we'll see how it goes, and also- I forgot to say this, but unit uh, thanks again for the super chat uh up there as well. I appreciate that uh look at your reviews on lg phones, yeah uh, Charles I've, reviewed this year, the v60 and the velvet so uh. You can feel free to take a look at those, but very, very good phones, uh baclofen yeah, I'm familiar with that one.

I have that one prescribed before I've got a different muscle, relaxer that I'm prescribed now, but uh doesn't seem to be doing a lot, mostly whatever yeah, depending on what position I'm in and- and you know, trying to get more comfortable and laying down it's fine, but right now, uh sitting here at the computer for a long time is uncomfortable. Security is definitely first on my muscle list yeah and I think that's high on a lot of people's lists like for the longest time it was like security, security, but then, when it was like, oh we've got all this social media stuff, and we've got these other cool things going on everybody's. Like I don't care about security so much I want to have access to Snapchat, I don't have access to WhatsApp. I want access to all these things and security kind of fell off the capital conscience of the mainstream consumer, and now it's back at the forefront of things. People are tired of getting hacked.

People are there are more eyes on cybersecurity than there ever have been before, because there's its in everything I mean people can hack like electronic thermostats and toasters and steal information. So just there's a lot going on in the world. That's really driving an eye back towards uh and a need. People are really like. Look I'm tired of google stealing my information, I'm tired of all this stuff with Facebook, I'm tired of this stuff with uh, android and google.

So I think that I think that this is an as a reality. I think that in the next year or two that, whether it's blackberry or not, somebody will come out with some sort of alternative phone. That's super secure, and we'll see what happens, so I think blackberry will have some accessories for their new phone uh. You know I've had that thought myself and also when it comes to like I, I sent a list of questions over. I wanted to talk to peter at onward mobility about, and I was actually one of them.

The best accessory for blackberries is the leather pouch. So I hope that they don't overlook that like. I really hope that, when this phone launches that they're, like hey, we're, gonna, have a pouch for this thing, and it's really nice like having those blackberry branded accessories is really cool. It really stands out, and I like that, so I'm hoping I'm really hoping that uh that they do that. Uh security now matters all yeah everything everybody does everything from their phone, so your phone needs to be absolutely secure and that's all the ins and outs you want your.

I mean you've got all of your private information on there. You've got your banking information there's so much like your phone is like the most vulnerable extension of you and interacts with the entire world every day. So I'm hoping that I'm hoping that there's a lot of a lot of insight that they have on this, and I'm hoping they use their expertise to really make this a secure phone. Because you know a couple of years ago, people are like. Oh it's, the most secure in the phone world.

It's the most secure phone in the world like yeah, who cares? Whatever all the phones are secure now, whatever I know, I can't do this, and I can't do that and now people are like you know. I think I'd be willing to give up one or two of those conveniences just to be able um to be secure again. Um, you see, I think blackberry has a bright future yeah, I think so too um, even though you, so I'm hoping- and I know they just hired this new position with the new vice president to uh in charge of government sales. I know that they're pitch again. I know that they're trying and that's something that they didn't do whenever it came to uh the blackberry mobile devices like there was no way those were going to get DOD certified.

So I'm hoping that this one, like they're they're, looking at military and government sales, and not just in the US but other places as well. I really do believe that they're trying to re-establish themselves in that market and if they could lock up some of those contracts and get some guaranteed uh sales in those areas. I think that it'll make a big difference. Uh, I know you're a phone junkie. I bought a note 10 plus a year ago, and I was thinking of adding a second line and getting the note 20 ultra so note, 20 ultra is good.

The only thing that I have to say about that is mine. The battery life is absolutely terrible, so I would say recommend that you would get the s21 ultra, because it also has the s pen support which is really cool, and if you get the s pen case, it actually comes with the stylus, which is the same one as the s tab, s6, and actually I like it a lot. I like it better than the regular stylus with the note. So there you go yeah, I don't use a belt holster, but you know blackberry has always had those, so I could see people wanting them to come back. Blackberry must do tablets yeah.

If blackberry did everything that would be great laptops. Uh laptops tablets watch all that cool stuff um, but we have to start with one device. First, so we'll see what happens with the uh with the first phone, hopefully we'll hear something in the near future. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm really hoping to hear something in the next couple of weeks. I think it's important and wow 96 people in here right now, so for all of you who are watching tonight.

Thank you. I really appreciate you being here. I thank you for taking the time to be here and watch and uh yeah. We have 68 likes and 92 people in here. So if you haven't hit the like button, go ahead and hit the like button and uh, you know if you like what you're hearing here and enjoy all the blackberry conversation, then you know hit the subscribe button as well, and I do have a new blackberry video coming out tomorrow.

So you all can look forward to that as well. Uh Greg McElveen McKelvy. I can't wait to get the z-flip. The z-flip is a very good phone. I have the z-flip 5g and I absolutely love it.

Probably my most favorite phone of 2020. , I'm really looking forward to the new one, because it's supposed to have a more interactive and larger display on the front, so I think that'll be good. Uh, Joaquin, barrera yeah. I love the Sony smartphones. I think they make good phones.

The problem is, is they don't have carrier, availability, they're, overpriced, um and that's it, and they're really, usually not as good as their contemporary counterparts? Usually they're, not as good as a Samsung. I mean there are certain things they do like their pro camera and their pro video modes. There are some really nice things that they do, but they're, usually not on the same level as just across the board is like the Samsung's or the iPhones, and they want too much money for them. So if they would lower the price, then I think that they would sell better, also get them and carry your hands or market uh. Like the odd port.

Let me see thanks for the super chat ROM. I appreciate it that playbook could double as a laptop yeah. I mean that would be cool. I the playbook is very good. It was very good when it came out.

It was way ahead of its time, so I would like to see what they can do, but you know I think that they're not probably positioned to do that right now, but hey if they get some more money. The shares go up if they can issue some more shares and capitalize and get some more money they're in a perfect position right now, and they finally have started to get you know free uh. You know cash flow positive, so I'm looking forward to what they do in 2021, and I think it's been exciting already this first month with all the things they've announced already, so we'll see what goes we'll see, what happens, which is better the v60 or the velvet uh. The v60 is technically better uh. It is more powerful and uh.

Overall, I like the v60 better than I like the velvet, and you can probably you can find either one of them fairly inexpensive, especially on resale uh. It's not so much that I mean it depends on what you mean by better. I mean if you want one that plays games better, then yeah I mean go with the v60, because it's got the snapdragon 865 in it. If you want something, that's sleeker that has more camera capabilities than go with the velvet and also like I said both of them are fairly inexpensive. But if I were to buy one myself I would get the v60.

Do. I think they'll bring out a new pixel phone in the XL size um. I don't know I've heard rumors of a foldable. Furthermore, I've heard rumors of a pro version, and we'll have to see, and if there is one I'll get it because I'm on the team pixel program, but as of right now, there's been nothing, that's been put out. Um and you know, pixel doesn't put stuff out this early anyway.

So I would, if there's going to be anything from them. My guess it would probably be around the April time frame, but we'll have to see uh what happens. Uh former blackberry enterprise, server, plus novel group wise, email system administrator. Oh man, yeah, uh- that there was some good stuff back then uh Alan. They uh- I miss those days.

I I I miss the days of all what blackberry was like king of everything, and it was. It was good times if only we could return to like half of that former glory with all the new technology. That's on the market, but, like I said you know the phones, they were hemorrhaging, they were losing money, they were really things were not good at all, so they had to ditch the phones, and I understand that because they wanted to keep the company alive. But what I hope, like my biggest hope here, is that they can use all this success. Moving forward, make more money rebuild the company to where they can.

You know handle more than just what they're doing like if they can find a way to be really profitable and then bring phones back in-house. I think, as their momentum continues to build and moving forward, then I think that that will open up more doors in the future uh Sergey. When will it be Russian subtitles? So I'd have never subtitled any of the videos before, so I will, I'll have to look into that um, I'm not sure exactly how to do the subtitles, but I'll see. If there's like a button or something that I can do to enable that uh Joaquin. What phone do you recommend right now, I'm upgrading from a note, 9, um, honestly uh.

It depends on how much use the stylus. If you use the stylus a lot, I would say: go for the note 20 ultra. If you don't use a stylus a lot, I would say: go with the s21 ultra just because you can still use an s pen with it, and what's cool is you can use three different? You can use the s pen from the note on it. You can use the s pen that comes with the s pen case, or you can use the s pen even from the tab, s6 or tab s7. So it's really cool that all those different styluses work with it and there's good trade-in deals like especially if you're like with T-Mobile or different carriers.

You can trade in the the uh. Well, you have the note 9. Is that what you said go back to the comment. Yeah, you can trade in a note, 9 right now at T-Mobile, and they'll give you 800 of trade-in credit, which is ridiculous, because the note 9 is not worth that at all uh Charles score, yeah life. What life was simpler.

Life definitely was simpler. Wow, we've got 110 people in here right now. I totally wasn't expecting to have so many people here. You know it's a Sunday night I mean I'm glad that you all are all here. I love to hop on here and talk about all this stuff, so yeah, it's great that uh.

You all take the time to show up and come hang out and, of course this is when I like to be able to sit here and answer a lot of questions like usually all if you all notice, I don't have a big driven narrative that goes along with, with the show um I just like to hang out and answer a lot of you all's questions, at least as best. I can use the stylus a lot yeah. If you use the stylus a lot, I would say go with the note 20 ultra, just because I mean the s20 ultra 21 ultra, I think, is a better phone, but this case kind of makes if it's not symmetrical like you look at it and there's this little wedge right here, which adds on to the side. So the phone is not really like exactly centered in your hand, and then you're limited to this case, and I'm sure there will be some more cases that will support it, but um yeah. I would recommend, especially if you like the smaller stylus.

I would. Furthermore, I would recommend the note 20 ultra. Furthermore, I think it's a very, very good phone blackberry lost in the past. They were competing with other companies yeah. I think that they did get a little lost in things I think they lost like they tried to change their identity.

They tried to be something that they weren't and instead of doubling down on just being and uh. It didn't work out, but it was a weird time because people really cared about security, but then, as it's one of those things where, when you play with when you, when you get used to something, that's dangerous, I'm not saying other phones are dangerous. Just when you get used to the idea of something if you've got a phone, that's secure, and you're used to having a really secure phone you're worried about a phone, that's not secure, but when you use a phone, that's not as secure over and over and over for a longer period of time you get used to it. You're like oh, it's, okay, nothing ever happens. Nothing ever happens.

Why do I have to have a more secure phone if this phone? If there's nothing wrong with it? So really, I think the importance on security started to fade and people are like. Oh, it's, okay, I don't have to use a secure phone and I have to use a super secure phone, this one's just fine and then that's what caused that lack of interest in the blackberry phones. So blackberry tried to be more mainstream and by being more mainstream, you know they suffered with their identity, but at the same point in time it also hurt because people just weren't buying them anyway. So I think now, with the bigger emphasis on security, with cybersecurity awareness being higher than it's ever been. I think that this new one will be more successful.

Yeah. The note 20 ultra is an exceptional phone. It's perfect. I like it a lot, probably the best note ever. I just had battery problems with mine like it.

It doesn't last as long as I think that it should, but some people seem to get good battery life at them. So who knows talking of memory is the only thing I didn't like about the q10. Oh, yeah. The loading time was terrible. One thing I did like about the loading time, though, is you could touch the blackberry icon in the center there, and it would tell you like what percentage it was at whenever it was loading.

So I always like that uh Lyndon nelson. Is this a new phone, no um? If you're talking about because of the thumbnail and this one, this one is a couple of years old, it's just the red version of the blackberry ke2, so it's just a really attractive phone. I, like it a lot, and it's really eye-catching uh, you think for sure the note series is dead. I don't know- and I think I saw something earlier today- that was a rumor saying that the note 21 is confirmed, and I believe that the note 21 was going to happen anyway. The concern was, is, maybe a note 22.

So I'm fairly certain we're going to see a note 21, it's just a matter of will we see a note, 22, and we'll have to see what happens beyond that, because Samsung has opened up the uh, an expanded array of devices that support the s pen, you look at the s21 ultra. You look at what we're getting with the fold 3, which will also have s pen support, so I think moving forward they're going to be selective with, though, because the regular s21 and s21 plus do not support the s pen. So I don't think that they're just going to throw the s pen at everything because they're trying to keep that more in line with their premium devices, but we'll have to see what happens going into 2022, but I think we'll see a note, 21, almost certainly hi from Quebec City. Do you think blackberry PRI is still a good choice? Uh yeah! I really don't have that's the thing when it comes. The PRI is so old uh, and it has not had a security update in years.

Really I can't recommend that as a secure phone now, if you like to use one, if you like, the sliding form factor, also be very aware that it's not the fastest phone in the world and moving forward less and fewer things will support it. Battery life is not good. There's just been so many changes over the last six years since that phone came out so um yeah. I, unless you just want one for fun to play with, I wouldn't recommend it as a daily driver at this point yeah what Mr o'tear says: they're, not not a good phone for today, yeah, yeah waiting for the q10 uh yeah. I would wait for the new one uh, hopefully we'll hear something in the near future.

Furthermore, I mean I don't know when uh. All I know is like look if they're planning on this thing coming out before you know the end of the second half of this year. There's going to have to be some information that comes out in the near future. Blackberry should focus on a phone geared towards mixed reality. If that that's cool, but I don't know how much augmented or mixed reality that you're going to have that incorporates business product like business and productivity I saw the s21 screen is slightly smaller than 6.8 inch. I want the note 20 ultra, because it's 6.9 like here's the thing I don't think you're gonna, really notice that much of a difference between the 6.8 and the 6.9. I've been using the s21 ultra for the last couple of days and the battery life is insanely good on it like way.

Good and I've got my video, which I'm probably going to record it tonight or tomorrow, but uh battery life to me is way better on uh the s21 ultra than it is on the note, and that to me is more important than the 0.1 inch on the screen. Uh is the key one still good I mean you can use it if you want something cheap and if you just want a physical keyboard to tide you over for now, then I mean that's fine, but um. You know it's also dated and hasn't had a security update in almost two years at 2000 called they want their racer phone back uh. Well I mean the racer phone is back. I mean it's 2020 2021 so, and you can go, get the the racer or the racer 5g, which is way overpriced.

Do you think armor mobility should acquire lumborum for their keyword? I don't know anything about that. Um, I'm not up-to-date on those and the FX tech pro is cool and all, but I really don't like those landscape style, landscape style, uh keyboard. It's not my thing. I like the more close keyboard. I don't like the one.

That's stretched out uh. I don't find those efficient to type on at all, Giovanni Genoa or Pok?mon. Gay um, I don't know probably uh, probably depends, I think, there's probably plenty of heterosexual Pok?mon. I haven't really lost a lot of sleep over that, though, so if you know something that I don't you're welcome to share with the group, but I'm not really concerned with the sexual orientation of uh cartoon and card video game characters today, but yeah. I answered your question anyway.

Well, I'm coming up on an hour now, so I'm going to get ready to go ahead and close up shop on here, but thank you a ton for everybody coming and hanging out tonight. It was a. It was a blast. I'm especially glad to be here since last week. Didn't happen.

Um but yeah lots of new videos coming out this week again, like I've, got the s21 ultra-right now I have videos on that. Also. The wing will be here in the next couple of days and I have a surprise phone uh. It's not a blackberry, but I have a surprise phone. That's showing up and oh just so you all know.

I've also got in my possession right now, the atomic red blackberry ke2 LE. So I have a video coming out on this as well too so lots of good blackberry stuff over the next week or two um and yeah we'll go from there. Let me see, do you know we'll get a more hybrid OS uh? I don't know right all. I know right now is they're working on android, but if we get something else in the future, then that would be great uh, I'm expecting the new phone to have AMOLED um yeah. I don't know about the dating habits or mating of Pok?mon either but uh.

Furthermore, I know there are different genders because I used to. Furthermore, I have a bunch of the cards from like 20 years ago, but thanks a lot. Everybody for being here tonight make sure you hit the like button on the way out the door and uh. Hopefully, you all had a good time tonight. Thank you for the time that you took to come, hang out and uh I'll have my regular show.

On Wednesday night my unhinged tech show, with my buddy English Dan reviews on Wednesday night 7 30 Central Standard Time. Lots of videos coming out this week, so you'll have that to look forward to, and I'll be back again next weekend, so you all stay safe, have a wonderful week, drink lots of coffee tomorrow, take care, and I'll see you guys next time.
