BlackBerry KEY2 in 2020: Unboxing the Greatest BlackBerry One Last Time

Everybody welcome back to tech Odyssey, so today, I'm here with a other unboxing of the BlackBerry key -. This is a Silver Edition, and it's not the Silver Edition like special one like the passport. But if you are uneducated on the BlackBerry key ?, it came in three colors. It came in this fancy silver color. It came in black which I have right here, taxa, and it also came in red which I have yet to get my hands on. So if I can ever get my hands on one of those brand-new which will probably cost me, a ton of money, I will be able to unbox it as well, but let's go ahead and dive in and take a look at the BlackBerry key ? and 20:20 unbox.

This sucker get it out of here and take a look at it, so before we get into that, I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here. If you enjoyed the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and a little notification bell. So you can get updates when new videos come out now, let's get into the key to all right. So here we are with the BlackBerry key -.

This is the silver color or silver edition. Very much like the passport silver edition. You can see here that there's some obvious influences in the design of the key to wink wink. Basically, it just looks like a lighter, slimmer version of the passport, of course, with the longer L on Akkad screen, but 4.5 inch, full HD screen, 64 gigabytes of storage. It's got the snapdragon 616 processors, an 8 megapixel, front-facing camera and dual 12 megapixel cameras on the back and a 3500 William battery.

It's running Android 8.1. So let's go ahead and use my handy dandy, unboxing tool here and cut the tape, so we can get the key to and liberate it from inside its box. So got that off. You can see here. The BlackBerry key ? is kind of raised on the box here, but you can feel it when you run your fingers across it and then taxa there.

We are with the BlackBerry key ? in all of its glory. Now I happen to think that this silver color is the best out of all three colors. It's got the matte looking keyboard, it's got. The nice polished metal. Look to it with this, this silver color.

It looks perfect. You can see. It goes around the edges and also the frets in between the keys around the camera on the back and then even the BlackBerry logo on the back of it. So it looks really nice got the rubberized. Texture got the dual 12 megapixel cameras on the back there.

You can actually take some pretty decent portrait shots with it, which is surprising because there's a black bag got the SD card slot on the side there, and also for the sim card, and then we've got our convenience key power button and volume up and down on the side there and take off the little security shield sticker there. Of course, it's got the headphone jack on the top USB see on the bottom and actually has stereo speakers on the bottom downward firing. That's pretty darn good sound for a blackberry, so not gonna, be disappointed there inside the little box. Here, of course, we're going to find the world's dullest most unread documentation in history of mankind, and we have our sim ejector tool in there as well. So here we are with the documentation.

It's actually in their like three different languages, I think it's English, French and maybe Espa?ol so yeah put that back away in there, where it's never ever going to see the light of day again so go ahead and set that off to the side. Now, also in the Box, we have our set of earbuds. Now the neat thing about these earbuds is it actually has the BlackBerry logo on it? So that's kind of neat, and it comes with the ear tips already on there, and then it comes with extra ear tips as well, so you can get them fitted for your individual comfort and listening. So pretty there I'll try and get this back in there. If I can yeah I, don't even know if I've ever actually listened to a pair of them.

I always keep everything how it is in the Box with the accessories. We got the power brick here. It is capable of quick charge. This one is 5 volts and 2 amps, so you have to find it in the find the lettering on the backside of the power brick there, but 5 volts and 2 amps, so it does get recharged pretty quick. The nice thing is, of course, is that it has a 3500 William battery the Snapdragon 660 power, efficient workhorse of a processor, and then we have our USB-C charging cable in here as well good to go, it's actually a pretty short cable, but I mean whatever it works so yeah here we are with the BlackBerry key to again, like I, said I.

Just think that it looks really, really sharp. Now I'll go ahead and get my black one here, we'll put them side-by-side this leather case that I've got is actually from a company called Tet dead, t ET de Bie, and I've had it for a long time. It actually works really well, so you can see here. Like I said, the black one is completely subdued the BlackBerry logo on the back, the sides, everything just kind of looks blended together, and it looks nice I mean don't get me wrong. It's the exact same phone, but some colors just really make the device, and you know everybody loved the passport silver edition.

So much, so I think that it was only natural that we would see the silver color in the key to now. They had a silver key one as well, but it just didn't, look or feel the same. It was kind of more rounded I, never really liked the appearance too much or the form factor on the key one I mean it was nice that we got the Android version of it and, of course we got the key to the key. ? did so much right and different and built upon what the key one did so putting them side-by-side. Here you can see, it looks basically I mean identical other than the fact that you know one's a square and the size of a passport and the other one looks much more modern elongated designed for Android with the better aspect ratio on the screen instead of the one-to-one.

So it does, though, I mean they very much. Look like each other, so I like that I do love the passport. Se I mean it's a sharp looking phone so having the Silver Edition I mean even the speaker. You know grates down the bottom. Look looks the same, so I, really like what blackberry Mobile did with this, and I wish.

We would have seen a key three, because I think that would have been awesome, but for what we got here with the key to appearance-wise. Form-Factor I think this one right here is the best of the bunch, but you know some people like to read one ?, there's a lot of going for it, so pretty darn cool all right. So here we are with the Silver Edition key ? and it's not really Silver Edition is just a silver colored one. It's not like there's a special one. They made like the passport silver edition, but you know I kind of feel like this is probably the most unboxed phone that I've ever had I've had several key twos since the beginning, when it came out, and I originally did have a silver key too, but I had to get rid of it.

I, when I retired from the military I took a job, it was kind of way out in the middle of nowhere as an assistant county attorney. They didn't have T-Mobile service out there, and I couldn't use this. So I ended up switching over to Xfinity, Mobile and I had to get an iPhone for a little while. So this is actually the second time I've had this phone, and now it's never ever going to leave me again, but it does have a nice look to it. I, not let the black one, the black one, does look perfect, but you can see here.

It just looks, really sharp, and it accents everything like the black one. Everything subdued it looks like it's one color and then here you have the silver one. You can see the frets between the keys and the border all around the edges. It's just a really sharp looking phone. Of course, it's 100% identical.

It just looks different, but that really goes to show you that the right color on the right phone can really make. It stands out a lot, so I've really been enjoying using this since I'm boxed it the other day, and I'm glad that I have begin, because really it's a great device, and it's still perfect. Even in 2020 I, don't really notice any drop-off in performance. The snapdragon 616 is fine, I mean they're still putting 665 675 s in phones nowadays, I mean, if you bump up to like the 765 series and some newer ones, really you're just kind of getting like the 5g experience. You know with the new 765, so the 660 is still a solid processor.6 gigabytes of RAM runs like a champ and I, really like this phone. So I'm going to make some more content with this, of course, because we love blackberry and I love blackberry, so I'm going to make videos about it.

But I wanted to do this one last unboxing, you know I had thought about holding on to it for a while too, because I thought, maybe I'd unbox in a year or two, or maybe I'd hold on to it and just as a collector saying, but this is such a nice phone and I want to use it now, while its still kind of in its prime I, don't really care that it has Android 8.1, that's perfectly fine! It just got security update in March. These keys are what it's all about, so I've been really enjoying I've typed so much on this in the last 48 hours, especially between Twitter, all my Twitter posts and everything else, so the best communications device pretty much ever it's its just so good. So that's all I have on my unboxing and a little the impressions and some talking time on the key ? I am going to make some more videos about it. So definitely stay tuned for that and might even do a comparison between these guys and then, of course, the Battle Royale, with the silver blackberries, so stay tuned and, like I, said the beginning. If you enjoyed the video, please hit the like and subscribe button and a little notification bell.
