Now one area that OnePlus will dominate the Apple Watch and that is what up you all its your boy c kid here and let's talk OnePlus and apple smartwatches. Now one area where I feel OnePlus will dominate. Let me get it. Let me get it the Apple Watch and that is in the battery life department, now being able to go an entire two weeks on a single battery charge is crazy and then 20 minutes of a charge can go one week. That's just some insane piece of tech and something that I wish that the Apple Watch had to me in the area of batteries. When it comes to the apple wearables, it's not actually good at all from AirPods to AirPods Pro to AirPods, max Apple Watch, etc.
They just don't seem to be able to hold battery life that well. So the fact that my one plus watch can go weeks without ever needing to charge up is very impressive. Now, let's go ahead and do some quick comparisons: real quick, the Apple Watch costs literally 400 and the OnePlus watch is only going to cost us 120 with 20 off coupon that you can get on their website. Now. Apple Watch can check your blood oxygen levels.
Heart rates. Take phone calls reply to text messages, get all of your alerts, which is all the same things that the OnePlus watch can do as well, even 40, cheaper than the Apple Watch Series 3. , but even with all of that, these dope comparisons and all these features, the major issue why I can't compete is because you cannot use it with iPhones yet to me this was a huge blow to me wanting to be able to floss around your know, because I was excited to be able to use it with my iPhone now in OnePlus defense. They did mention that iOS compatibility will be coming to the OnePlus watch in the future. Now I understand why they probably didn't because, let's be honest, the majority of OnePlus users in their audience are android users, so it makes sense to go ahead and release the watch with android only and base and basically making it android only compatible now.
The other reason why OnePlus watch can't really compete with the Apple Watch, and that is because they did not release a LTE edition. Now it is 2021. I felt like the cobalt looking option was dope, but I felt like it should have been the one that they actually are planning on uh, releasing with a LTE option, because that is the one that I'm personally going to be getting. But, like I said in my previous video honestly, I don't really want another bill with LTE to have with my smartwatch, but I still think for those that wanted it. It would have been a good option to have if they would have just put it on a premium edition model for those people to buy.
So let's go ahead and talk about storage, real, quick with the OnePlus watch. Now I do like this feature. If you are an apple user without LTE, mainly because I don't have to be connected to my iPhone and can stream and play music stored on my OnePlus watch, but where I feel OnePlus watch actually fails short of apple, is you have LTE on your Apple Watch, where you guys can stream apple, music or Spotify music libraries straight from your Apple Watch, where you wouldn't actually need internal storage, because it's all being streamed over a network? Now I'm actually excited about the OnePlus watch myself, because I personally think it is a good start for OnePlus to really start building out their own ecosystem. They already have the buzz z and the wireless buzz z that are good, and they also now have their smartphone, lineup, and they're. Now dipping into the smartwatch game and to be honest, guys, I'm here for it now, I do think the OnePlus watch has everything except this one thing that would just take it just completely next level and uh.
Let's go ahead and talk about that right now. The one thing that is still missing from this smartwatch is what up you all so the other day. OnePlus revealed that OnePlus 9 non-pro and the newest member of the lineup that we're going to be talking about today, and that is the OnePlus watch, and I'm going to be telling you guys all why this is a major leap for OnePlus, but it is missing one thing, so let's go ahead and start off with the one item that I feel like that, I'm most excited for, and that is the OnePlus watch. So this watch here looks clean. It looks classy all of that, and I also like the fact that they also decided to go with a round shape instead of like having like the square option that apple gives us, but even with that, the one thing that is still missing from this smartwatch is yo.
I have to break into this video real, quick because, like literally later on in the day as I'm editing, this video that you guys are watching right now, I had to break in here man because one of the biggest things that I don't like about the OnePlus watch, and again I haven't gotten it yet. I can't use it on my iPhone, like literally it will not work for iPhone users and I feel like if you guys, are entering the space, and you're trying to compete with apple, obviously being the king of the smartwatches, and then you also have Samsung that's kind of a strong runner-up with it, and so I feel like if you guys, are entering that space, and this is the space that OnePlus wants to be in. Then you have to make it compatible with all smartphone genres. So I just feel like me, being an apple user. I feel like I'm left out, and I feel like this is one of the biggest issues that I have with the OnePlus watch.
We're gonna we're gonna, let's go ahead and get let's go ahead and get you all back into that. Let's, let's go, but hopefully that's coming in the near future. But even with that being said, the OnePlus watch is something that I'm still hyped to actually try as well as test out here in the studio. So let's go ahead and start off right, real, quick here with pricing as well as specs and get all of that out of the way, so one plus watch is going to cost 159 bucks. Now the watch does come in midnight, black, a silver as well as a premium model called cobalt edition.
Now the size also comes in one size, which is just 46 millimeters, it's a stainless steel, but it is a bit on the larger side, and I'm expecting it not to necessarily look too big, but again we're just going to have to wait and see once we actually get it here in the house. Now when it comes to the battery life, they are claiming up to 14 days on a single charge. Then, if you guys actually charge it for 20 minutes, it will last you guys. Seven days now. I ain't gonna lie to you guys.
That is bold claims from OnePlus, but I will say with me testing OnePlus in the past, with the batteries I have to be honest with you. The battery technology is actually pretty good. Now you also are getting four gigabytes of internal storage which, if you guys actually just go scroll down the page, look at the fine print you're, actually only getting two gigabytes of storage, because the rest of it is actually going to be used by the operating system in itself. It's going to give you somewhere about 500 songs that you guys can have downloaded on the OnePlus watch itself, all right. So let's go ahead and talk about the design.
Now I think the design to me personally looks perfect and, like I mentioned earlier to you guys in this video, I do like the fact that they went with a round design, which is something that I personally like over the square design smartwatches, but the body is made out of stainless steel, which is a solid material. Don't get me wrong, however, stainless steel over time does build up tiny, scratches pretty quickly. Now, on the side of the watch, you are getting two navigational buttons with one of them actually being branded with one plus's naming on it. On the back side of the watch, you are getting the charging pins, as well as the sensors. That's going to be used for blood oxygen levels, uh monitoring your heart rate, as well as a lot of health and wellness fitness items and last, let's talk about the display, which is an ammo, led, there's going to be a little over an inch that you guys are going to be able to see on the watching itself.
Now, if you guys have a pair of wireless earbuds or headphones, then you are going to be able to Bluetooth connect up to the actual smartwatch and listen to your music on the go without the need to actually have to pair it to a smartphone or anything like that, which I think is dope now, assuming that there is an easier pairing option, if you guys are using something like the OnePlus buzz z or the wireless z options. But again we're just going to have to wait and see when we get that in house. Now, speaking of testing out, you guys are gonna, get a hundred and ten workout types to be able to choose from that fits your active needs. So let's say you guys are a cyclist, a jogger or sprinter, a hiker or whatever you guys do. There is a mode for tracking that is specifically designed for you, which is dope, because this is going to allow you guys to have more accurate, uh readings when it comes to your workouts, which I think is really dope.
Now this current first gen that is available on April 14 does not have a seller option to be able to act independently of the actual smartphone in itself, which is honestly it isn't really that big of a deal for me, because I always have my phone with me. So I don't really care too much for that feature. I actually wouldn't want to spend any extra money on a separate plan just for a smartwatch anyway. So I'm cool with that, but yeah guys, I'm actually hyped to actually check this watch out. But in the meantime I talked about the new OnePlus 9 as well as the non-pro, and could it possibly be the new king of android smartphones? Well, uh, let's go ahead and talk about it.
OnePlus just might be the new king of android smartphones. Now I'll. Let you guys tell me if I'm wrong or not down in the comments after you guys finish this video, but anyway, let's go ahead and talk about it. Now before we actually get started just know your boy actually got the OnePlus phone actually coming in house and I will be testing it out and all of that and letting you guys know if I think it is the android smartphone that you guys should buy also knowing that rap is coming as well, so definitely keep it locked for that as well, but this will honestly be my first OnePlus device that I will be experiencing. So I'm excited about that too.
Now, if you don't know what I'm talking about, the latest smartphone by OnePlus is the nine as well as the non-pro, both being 5g and able, which honestly doesn't really mean that much right now, unless you live in one of those areas, so I wouldn't really pay too much attention to that. But let's go ahead and start off with the non-pro model. Now I didn't actually order this model for a couple of reasons, because to me, I just didn't feel like there was too much difference from the regular non-model other than just that telephoto camera on the back, which really makes it hard to justify for me spending an extra three hundred dollars for something that I probably just really wouldn't use. Now the non-pro does come in better color options in my opinion, which are that morning mist as well as the pine green, which that pine green color is 100 percent, the best color option, in my opinion, that one plus release. Now it also looks like if you guys pre-ordered the phone, they are giving you guys the buds, z, Stephen Harrington edition for free that I talked about here on the channel.
If you guys want to check that out I'll link that video down below now, you also are getting 120 hertz, refresh rate display in full resolution. You also are getting oxygen OS on android 11, with Qualcomm snapdragon, triple 8 processors, now, you're, also getting 12 gigabytes of ram fast warp charging, all of that good tech and jazz, but anyway, you're also getting that sauce internally. That Samsung is giving you, but at a cheaper cost. So if I'm actually an android person, why would I actually look at Samsung if I would be paying more now to me? One thing that Samsung still hasn't gotten 100 right to me, I feel, is camera for video. Now, it's just not on the same level as something like an Apple device, but from research that I've done neither was OnePlus, but this year it actually seems within both models of the OnePlus device.
They are giving us a well-known camera manufacturer and partnering with which is Hasselblad, even though they are still using a Sony sensor which I'm not gonna lie to you guys when they actually mentioned that I was like huh, so you all partnered, with Hasselblad for the camera, but you're using Sony's sensor like where they do that at.
