Apple Watch Series 6 Leaks & Rumors! No Force Touch...

So the Apple Watch Series six. What is it going to include? Is it going to be a big upgrade? Should I wait to buy it uh, it's going to be a pretty decent, upgrade, definitely more significant than the series 5 and 2019, because we really only got two things. We got the always on display and the compass this year we're hearing about new health features both for the existing ECG and new blood oxygen saturation monitoring, better internals, which shouldn't be a surprise, but considering we didn't get a faster processor last year it is and then there's some weird stuff, like apple removing forced touch. So, if you're looking forward to the video, you want to learn something new today, you want to expand your cranium drop like down below hit subscribe for more and let's go ahead and jump in obviously apple's been marketing this as a health accessory for a long time I mean since the very first iteration you had heart rate monitoring, then it expanded to ECG, and they're, actually expanding on that feature this year, with this series 6 making it work with heart rates between 100 and 120 bpm. If your heart rate at the time of measuring taking that ECG was above 100 in most cases, it would fail and say you know in incongruent results, or we couldn't figure out what exactly is going on with you. So you could be dying, you might be dead, or you might just have a slightly quick heart rate.

I don't think it's a widespread problem that a lot of people have a faster than 100 bpm, heart rate, but certainly apple expanding support. You know if you are in a situation where your heart rate is a bit elevated. You can still get a proper result, but well that's a pretty small upgrade on something that we've already got. The huge new feature is blood oxygen, saturation monitoring, so you've probably gone to urgent care. The doctor maybe even been in the hospital before you know that little, like suction cup, tube thing that they put in your finger, and you're like am I in the right place, and then it gives you a little number, it's probably between 90 and 99 or 100.

That's essentially telling you like, when you're breathing how much oxygen is going around your body in the simplest terms that I can describe it so apple's working on introducing that for the Apple Watch. But the cool thing about that is that when you know your blood oxygen saturation content, you can actually figure out a bunch of other stuff like one feature that could be coming is going to be related to mental health, where apple would be able to detect some abnormality in either your heart rate and in conjunction with your blood oxygen saturation that you may be going into a panic attack and then could suggest some breathing exercises to help you out, which is cool. I mean there's a ton of possibilities, for this apple has shown us that they just really like this of the health device, and personally I'm really into that. I like knowing more about myself on device. You know it's cool to be able to see that data on your wrist.

You don't even have to go into a doctor anymore, which was just unheard of a few years ago. Another application for the Apple Watch that they've been more heavily promoting every year is swimming with it. Now I'm also the person that, like when I get into the shower, I'm still like nah, I'm gonna, take it off anyway, like I know it's going to be fine, but then it's just kind of wet and my hands all moist, and I'm like what am I doing out here, I'm just in my house. My arm is just like wet this year. Apple could be improving the level of waterproofing.

Yet again, I think we actually heard from a reliable source that for the series five, it was going to go up significantly, and it essentially stayed the same, but we're talking, like maybe 50 to 100 meters and the first thing that pops in my head is like what could apple do next here? Could it be transformed into a diving, a diving feature or a diving mode, or perhaps even a variant of the watch for diving, where you could see some more information about what you're doing now that there's like customizable watch faces and shareable ones in watchOS 7. ? It just got me thinking about it, and I don't know if that's the case, but better waterproofing could definitely be expected, but of course, apple's going to have to make some hardware changes, because the pressure once you start going down that far, is going to be pretty intense on your Apple Watch. So what are they going to do well? A couple of years ago, you guys have probably heard me mention this like 400 times and every year I'm like this is the year it's coming. This is the year we're going to see it, and then I look like an idiot because it just hasn't happened. It's making all the buttons solid state.

So you know how the home button on the iPhone 7 when you click it or the iPhone 8 or the SE. It doesn't actually move it. Just vibrates it's responding with haptic touch, because the button itself is stationary, it doesn't move at all and apple according to fast company, could be adding that to all the buttons on the Apple Watch. So the digital crown might just feel like it's moving, but it might not actually spin the side button. Might just vibrate not physically press.

I think, if Apple does, that that could certainly allow them to get some pretty impressive numbers, potentially for something like going 50 to 100 meters below the uh, the sea level out here. So that could be a cool feature and even just longer water resistance for everybody else. Maybe apple would say you know up to 50 meters, but for like three or four hours, rather than 30 minutes to an hour and what's something else that could potentially help, maybe if apple removes force touch now. This is one that gets me because force touch 3d touch. These were all proprietary apple technologies that I was always fascinated.

Never got picked up on the android side of things like generally android releases, a feature apple copies, it quotes, unquote puts it in the iPhone same thing. Apple makes a feature: android sees it, they copy it, but nobody really copied 3d touch or force touch. You know where you can tap on the display and using pressure do an action. Now I was a huge fan of it. I love the peak and pop I liked it, but apple removed.

It's starting with the iPhone 10r, it's not on the iPhone 11 series at all, and this year the feature has been depreciated in watch OS 7, leading a lot of us uh to basically expect there to be no support for hardware for force touch on the Apple Watch Series. Six. It just wouldn't make sense for apple to remove support in the software and be like no we've still got it in the new watch. I mean they're, basically confirming that just like they did with the iPhone there isn't gonna, be that force touch sensitivity, so you can see like I don't know. Can you guys see this if I like force touch hard it is goes in, but with watch OS, seven you'll be able to just do a tap and hold to perform a similar action? Now I think it's a worse experience.

I don't like it, but that's that's what we're hearing. So I got to be the bearer of bad news for you guys. I know it's not fun, but that's the reality and then peeking even further internally we're looking at a faster processor this year, which again I said I shouldn't have to mention like that: that's a given for new product, but apple, totally conned us. Last year they said there was a s5 chip on the inside. If you go on the watch series 5 website, it says s5, there is literally no speed improvement.

They just called it the s5, and they got away with that because they put a compass attached to the processor and that's why it's a new system on a chip. So it's really the exact same as the series four, which still blows my mind like. I can't remember the last time. Apple just hasn't upgraded the processor on something when they could like. That's just expected, along with the new s6 processor, apple's, also going to be introducing faster, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which I think is good.

I've noticed the Wi-Fi has always just been a bit sluggish on the watch. It's gotten better since version one like way better, but it still doesn't feel in parity with my iPhone or the ability to like to read and send data like I can on my phone. So that's a good sign there as well. There is a toss-up rumor that I've saved for the end, and you may have heard about it before um. I actually broke the story a few months ago when I worked with the verifier, but I don't think it's coming to the series six.

I haven't found it's coming to the series. Seven a touch ID sensor, either built into the display or into the digital crown. Now the digital crown route sounds way more realistic to me, and I don't want to get you too excited, because I don't think it's coming this year. I have a strong feeling. This is coming on the Apple Watch, series, 7 or even 8.

Later down. The road could apple. Surprise us, certainly like iOS 14 during the pandemic, was a way bigger deal than we thought it was going to be. I just there hasn't been a lot of concrete evidence that this uh this watch sensor is coming. I think touch would be cool.

You know you don't have to just double-click: the side button you could actually scan your fingerprint, I mean face ID, I think, would be even cooler, but that's the big wild card, another one. I've seen that I don't know where it came from, but apparently the watch could come in. Like a navy blue. I haven't seen any reputable sources saying that I've just heard that I think that's just one of those rumors that just kind of sprung up, but overall, I'm looking forward to the series six. The series five has been incredible, I always mean on display, was the reason I upgraded, even though the upgrade overall wasn't that significant with apple adding these new health features faster, internals, better waterproofing, maybe even solid state buttons.

I can do a watch without force touch I'll, be disappointed that it's gone, but overall the upgrade this year is looking really solid, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. So I hope you guys enjoyed the video. If you did drop a like down below hit subscribe for more and I hope you're doing swell I'm Sam I'll, see you in my next video.
