Hey guys, what's going on it's Karl here, back with an episode standing in one of my favorite places of all time. We are here, of course, for the Apple event. We've had some major news today, of course new iPhone stuff. This video, though, is all about Apple Watch, Series 5. We have a new one, not redesigned because last year we had the series 4 with, of course, the new watch sizes that stays the same this year with series 5 we've got this amazing Apple Music playing in the background, if you guys can hear it but like I said 40 and 44 mils are the two sizes for series 5, so the biggest thing I think personally is the always-on display. It's the thing that we needed from Apple Watch this year in series 5.
They finally have that. So that means, whenever you're glancing at your watch, you can tell the time you can tell what workout you're doing whatever this screen was on before we've seen that, if coursed, in some Android watches, and I'm a big fan of that once again, Apple slightly late to the party, but that's totally cool, they do it right and this time always-on display I think this is a game. Changer and I think this is why some people would actually buy an Apple Watch now, just for that reason alone. I myself, if you watched any of my videos, you know that I always try to gravitate back to my oh gee watch, because I think the true function of a watch is to tell the time yeah. Obviously now you can get phone calls, you can see your text messages it's an Apple Watch, but first and foremost you want it to tell the time, and it does that now, all the time no pun intended.
So it achieves that always-on display by having a new piece of tech and that's called the low temperate poly oxide display or LAP. Oh think, I nail that actually on the first take approve it now and typically a screen refresh rate is around 60 Hertz on a normal Apple Watch, and it has that all the way down to one Hertz and that's really important with battery saving, because if you have a display, that's always on, you obviously need your battery to still have that all-day performance which the series 5 still does, which is awesome and I. Think a lot of people were worried about that. You still get that same 18 all day battery life that will probably even last you a day and a half depending on use. You also have a new built-in compass, so now you can, if you're lost, you're lost in Steve Jobs, be here, you're lost out here in Apple Park.
Furthermore, you can locate exactly where you are. Apple also made a big emphasis, not just on the Apple Watch, but across its entire range on recycled aluminum, and that comes to the series 5, all three colorways of aluminum, of course, gold, silver and Space Gray. All of that is 100% recyclable, aluminum I'm. A big fan of that I love, seeing that in the MacBook Pros MacBook Airs, of course, the new iPhones and series 5 in addition to the aluminum, you also have stainless steel for a bit more of a premium finish I. Think a lot of people are looking to the new finish color way: I guess it's titanium that comes in -.
Of course, options the dark black brushed or the traditional titanium I'll try to get a separate video on that, because I think a lot of people are fans of that coming from say, a watch guy, I myself. Titanium is a material used to save weight. It's of course lighter than stainless steel even stronger and, of course, that lightweight miss savings. You can't have a watch that weighs you down and, of course, for all the ultra high-end ballers out there. You still have the ceramic finishes: I think those are usually the priciest or, if you're a designer, they have the Hermes not into brand names.
Don't know how you actually call that perfect timing for that series. Five will be available on September 20th. You've got the two pricing breakdowns. Just GPS 399 cellular is $4.99, so essentially the five is replacing series 4 Series three is now dropping to $1.99 as their entry level, I guess Apple Watch, and they also have a dope new announcement, which was building your own, been inside an Apple Store, I. Think that's called the Apple Watch band studio, I, think that was the biggest complaint from customers.
Why they couldn't mix and match watch bits. So now, if you check out your local Apple Store, you can build a strap to your heart's content and have a truly customized piece for your Apple Watch. Hope you guys enjoyed this video. Of course, a ton more Apple coverage coming your way so make sure you sub to the channel. Hope you guys like series, 5, and I will catch you guys in one of my next ones base.
