Apple Watch SE versus Series 3: DETAILED COMPARISON — Should you buy/upgrade?

Hi everyone, it's Nordstrom apple, is currently setting three apple watches the series six SE and the series three. Maybe you currently own the series three and are wondering which features you're gonna, get if you buy the SE, or you're on a budget and are doubting between the series three and the SE well, in this video I'll, be comparing both devices side by side going into every detail, I'll be talking about design accessories, storage, battery life, software and watch faces. Okay, let's start with the design the series 3 has. The original app watch look same as the series 0, 1 and 2. While this SE has the same design as the series, 4, 5 and 6. , the biggest difference between both designs is the screen.

The SE has a 30 larger display going edge to edge around the bezel, while the series 3 has noticeably larger bezels. As someone who has owned the series 3 for a few years now, the larger display on the SE is awesome. On the other hand, besides the smaller display on the series 3, it is still a very good OLED display, where I didn't have any problems. Reading. What's on it, the sides are different as well.

The speakers on the SE are larger, making them 50 louder and the microphone has been moved to the other side of the watch, which is a more logical place to place a mic, because that's the place where you're also more likely to speak into when you hold it close to your mouth. The back is different as well. The SE has a ceramic back, while the series 3 has an aluminum back sensor, wise SE, and the series 3 both have a heart rate, monitor so no blood, oxygen level and ECG monitor along with the design. You also have watch bands, the series 3 and SE both support all Apple Watch bands. This means you can use your series 3 bands on the SE like me right now, or you can buy one of apple's newest bands and put them on your series.3. the 38 millimeter series, 3 bands fit the 40 millimeter SE, and the 42 millimeter series.3 bands fit the 44 millimeter SE. Now when it comes to cases, they aren't compatible with each other.

So if you would buy a SE coming from the series 3, you will have to buy new cases. Next up is storage, and this is more important than you think. The GPS version of the series 3 comes with 8 gigabytes of storage, of which just 4 gigabytes of usable storage, while the SE comes with 32 gigabytes of storage, of which 26.6 gigabytes of usable storage, the low amount of storage in the series 3 might result in some issues when updating your device. Now, let's get into the software experience, both devices run watch OS 7 quite well. In my experience, it runs very smoothly even on the series 3.

It's just when actually using resourceful apps, that you will notice a difference between the s3 chip and s5 chip, which is twice as fast and has the 64-bit architecture. But again in general. The series 3's performance is good at the moment, especially when using the stock apps when it comes to features here are the similarities they're both water resistant and swim proof. They have GPS, a gyroscope, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer and they both have a heart rate monitor, although this SE has the second gen heart rate, monitor. They both also show high and low heart rate notifications, and they let you know if you have an irregular, hard rhythm as well connectivity wise, the SE, supports Bluetooth 5, while the series 3 has Bluetooth 4.2 and both support 2.4, gigahertz Wi-Fi. The SE, however, has a bunch of extra features fall: detection, which alerts your emergency contact.

If you make a hard fall, noise detection, which alerts you when decibel levels, are too high and could damage your hearing hand, washing detection, which reminds you to wash your hands regularly for at least 15 seconds compass and always on altimeter, which constantly shows your elevation compared to the series 3, which also has an altimeter but doesn't constantly update and finally, also haptic feedback in the digital crown. So if you like turn the crown, you can feel it clicking, you can turn it off if you'd like, but it is actually cool to keep it on now. Most features I just talked about are also mentioned on the website, but what isn't in the comparison chart is that the watch faces are limited on the series 3. Here are the watch faces you do get on the SE, but not on the s3. California, chronograph pro count up: GMT gradient, info graph, info graph, modular, emoji, meridian, modular compact, two of the three solar watch faces stripes and typography.

That's a bunch of watch faces. Most of these watch faces support, more advanced widgets or complications as they're. Actually called these complications show you a lot more information or even update all the time like the compass or the altimeter. Finally, we have battery life. My series 3 usually lasts about 24 hours, meaning I can wake up charge it where the whole day sleep and comfortably charged again the next morning.

Now this is great in my opinion, as its battery health is only 83 now, my new SE obviously has a brand-new battery, so it lasts me more than a day, so I could say I could charge it in the morning and use it until the evening of the next day or even until the day after so like really 48 hours, which is excellent. So what's conclusion: if you're on a very tight budget- and you can only afford the series three then okay go for it- it is a very good device even on watch us seven, but if you could save a little more for the SE, you really get much more. Many more watch faces more functions, more features and a larger screen, which is really much more that you'll get compared to the series 3. Now, personally, I upgraded from the series 3 to the SE, mainly because of those watch faces and the larger screen, but I explained my upgrade experience already in my other video which I'll link here now, if you have any questions about the series 3 or the SE, just let me know in the comment section. Thank you very much for watching and see you in the next one.

You.
