Apple Launches IPAD AIR 2019, myspace hits delete & Intel supply struggles

Before we get into the main reason you're, probably watching this video, which is the launch of the new iPad F 2019 I, am just going to talk you through a couple of other tech news stories that caught my eye, so the first one is MySpace, have deleted twelve years worth of music and have watched server migration, probably the worst nightmare for any tech firm when you migrate onto a new server, and you lose data. Now, quite interestingly, there 's's a lot of artists who actually made their mark on the music industry through MySpace such as the cycle here on the verge mentions, Arctic, Monkeys and Enter Shari. Both great bands are well I, don't really like Arctic Monkeys anymore, but I used to like their original stuff, and there is a few others like Kate Nash. She was. She was on the platform. They have a disaster really for MySpace, but let's face it, who uses MySpace anymore? Not me! Next up there is the news of the CPU shortages and excess GPU inventories, which is contributing to decline in PC sales.

Quite an intriguing one. This is the way Nvidia reacted to the crypto mining boom that we had a couple of years ago whilst to produce more powerful cards in greater quantities. That's now coming to bite them on the bottom, because they have an awful lot of excess stock, but also the price of their video cards is a lot higher for their best models. So a bit of a bit of a neuron girl there. What I, fascinating about the CPU charges is the fact that it's predominantly Intel and who are struggling with supply quite a lot of Arty's down to the lower end of the CPU market, with the slower processors actually been the ones that they are struggling to supply for as they try and become more profitable by more of the more expensive higher powered processors.

Unfortunately, for Intel. Quite a lot of people would now like a lower end device in the market at out of any numbers to back that up, and then we turn to the very much interesting news that Apple are releasing a new iPad Air. Most of us thought that the iPad Air had finished and that that type of iPad was gone as they did in 2017 I think it was. They switched from the iPad Air 2 to just the iPad. This new iPad Air is going to have a ten and a half inch Retina display with the same processor, which is the a12 Bionic processor that is in the iPhone XS.

The iPad Mini 4 will be stopped in production which we've had since 2015, and we will have a new $399, iPad Mini. So on the screen now are the specs for the new iPad Air. As you can see, it's its quite a high spec for what it is, but at the price that they are releasing it at I, totally get that there is a headphone jack. Oh, just notice that fantastic, it does start at $499. It's a lot more expensive than the iPad 2018.

Then we have the iPad Mini. So with this one, it has a faster processor than the previous iteration seems to have more storage as well. Interestingly, this one again comes with the headphone jack, but also causes a lightning connector. We did, we did seem to think that Apple were ditching, the lightning connector, but clearly that's not the case. These new iPads should be available from the end of this month, which is March 2019.

What we will get as well is a launch event on the 25th from Apple, and this is a Netflix style streaming service. So that'd be quite interesting. Something tells me it's going to be very expensive and something tells me one compete with Netflix, because Netflix he's so big these days that any new entrant to that market will struggle. So that is it for my tech news this week. I will be uploading.

Another video shortly so I'll see you in that one if you've not yet subscribed to Thomas Tech, and please do so down below. Thank you.
