Hey, what's happening everybody, so my iPhone 12 Pro max has been heating up and mine's, not the only one long story short the iPhone 12 max was built as a video taking machine right like for the content creators for those that are really serious about content creation. You know making the videos whatever it is. You're doing so. Let me tell you my experience and I and I really didn't catch it at first, but okay, the screen dimming issue. So the other day I was recording three videos, so I had two videos uploading, and I am recording the third one. Well, I noticed all of a sudden in the middle of my recording and these aren't very long videos we're talking like two five-minute videos, whatever it's not a big deal, and I noticed though, halfway into the video like all of a sudden, the screen got dim, and I'm like I thought.
Maybe it was my eyes because, I'm always in these bright lights, I thought there are bright lights in the studio right, so I thought maybe my eyes are not adjusting well, so I just went along with the program kept doing the videos, but then, when I picked up my Samsung Galaxy device to take a photo for the thumbnail for the picture to cover the video, I noticed how bright that display was I'm like what there's nothing wrong with my eyes. So then I went back over and looked at the iPhone and there it was. It was still dim and then all of a sudden, while I was looking at it after the phone cooled, the display went back to its regular brightness. So I went on, and I tried doing a few more things with this. I was playing some video games, and it happened during that as well.
Now uh the cooling system in the iPhone top pro maps, it's already it's in the apple communities, they've talked about it. I really didn't want to talk about this by the way, because, but it's only fair that I do because I, whenever I know, there's been people that have said that I don't ever say bad things about phones that I really like and that's not true. I say bad things about phones all the time if they piss me off, and I'm a little perturbed by this. You know I spent fourteen hundred dollars, you know give or take you know some money. Fourteen hundred bucks, you know, because I wanted this phone.
I needed this phone to be the phone right. I needed this iPhone 12 Pro max to be the phone that I went into battle with or say I was in the gym and I didn't really have access to certain things that this was going to be the phone that I was going to do. My video recording my content creation, my uploading to YouTube. This was supposed to be the phone that could take the heat, and it can take the heat all right. So you know it's a little frustrating for me.
Uh, it's making me want to sell it and just get like the regular iPhone, 12 and uh. You know I'm currently right now, I'm rocking the s21 ultra as my daily driver I mean and here's the thing I want. I wanted the iPhone top pro max to keep being my daily driver and that's the thing. That's bothering me about it right now. I got to tell you- and I want to say this right now- my lg v40, which I've recorded a ton of YouTube videos with, has never ever done that to me, and there were times when I was recording 10 videos a night with my lg v40 and uploading at the same time it that phone, never overheated, never dimmed out, never shut down.
On me, I can say the same things about all the Samsung Galaxy devices I've used before okay, so the iPhone 12 Pro max is really and look and for a second there I thought. Maybe it was just me with a problem because sometimes it happens. Sometimes, whenever you have an issue with the phone, sometimes it's just you right, and then you know, and then you post it on Twitter and everyone's like well, my phone's not doing that. Well, apparently, it's happening to a lot of people with the iPhone 12 Pro max the heating up issue. So but anyway, I digress.
I just wanted to say, like that's like I was saying my lg v40, my Samsung Galaxy devices that I recorded, and I'm recording this video right now with my s21 ultra um, using video pro mode and uh. You know it's going to hang tough, it's not going to do anything crazy, it's not going to overheat! It's not going to do any of that! So and in last night I went a step further with this phone here, and I was playing some asphalt 9 just having a good time, and it got hot. It got really hot it damned on me um. You can even smell it like you know that heat smell, that was the heat smell, was even coming off the display a little. Now, I'm not saying that.
I don't like iPhones, I'm just saying I don't think these iPhones are like you know all that, for when it comes to like content, creators or people that need a phone to perform on another level. No because what's the point of having the a14 bionic and all that speed. If this phone just gets throttled down like crazy, you know- and it's apple doing it because apple- wants these phones to last five years. You want to get five years of updates, so I mean that's cool and everything. If that's your thing, but if you're a content, content creator like me, come on, you know you need a phone that can take the heat all right so and no, I don't really want to go and get a DSLR, or I don't want to get a camera.
For my video recording a lot of us content creators we like using our phones, uh, shout out to josh quinones he's one of them he's a big time. Samsung video creator, he uses uh his Samsung Galaxy devices to record all his videos uh to edit. He edits on his phone and I've had some issues with this with editing and stuff like that, going to iMovie, and I'm sticking together a video and I spend forever putting it together, and then I go, and I hit you know the finish and the save it destroys. It doesn't do it, it won't. Do it sometimes and that's frustrating I've never had a Samsung phone.
Do that to me all right. I've never had a Samsung phone. Just leave me hanging like that, and you know I mean look. I get paid to do this all right, so it's not that huge of a deal, but can you imagine if I was an up-and-coming YouTuber guy and I had 100 subscribers, and I'm over here spending 1400 on the phone, because I needed the phone to be. You know the greatest ever because like when this phone came out, let me just go.
Look at the way look at the videos of whenever the apple announced this phone right. Here I mean man, you know that they can record cinema. You know quality videos. You can do this so that you can do that with it. The a14 bionic is the best this and the best that, but guess what they forgot.
They forgot to put an adequate cooling system inside this device right here that could handle it all right look. Maybe they should have made this phone a little thicker. Maybe they should have some cooling chambers. Maybe they should have done something okay. Now, I'm not saying that this is a bad phone.
Apple makes great software. They make a tremendous ecosystem, but man, you know whenever that happens, it's just it's frustrating and last night we were out just riding around doing our thing, and I was recording some video and uh. I did a 10 minute, video last night, uh because it was snowing. It was doing all that you know some weather was coming in, and it was a cool night, and it was this: it's not summer right now, okay, so I'm not driving around, and it's it. But it's still even then, when I was- and I know all phones will heat up when you record, but I was only doing 1080 60 frames per second last night now, when this phone initially heated up on me, I'm only doing 1080 30 frames per second, but anyway, last night, even last, when it was cold uh yesterday evening, and I'm not recording the videos, it was still warm.
I was showing people I was dating other the people who were with me. I was letting them touch the phone to show them, and they were surprised they're like wow. They never felt the phone get that warm. So anyway, I'm not trying to say this is like uh. You know, like heat gate, you know, you know, there's something crazy going on.
I mean that's. What apple do you know? Apple? Does things like that to make their phones last a while? You know, but you know, at the end of the day, I if I was going to recommend the phone for content creators out there for various and look listen to me. Look, yes, I could record the video with the iPhone, and then I could air drop it to my Mac, and then I could do the editing and all that stuff on there. Then I could do the uploading from my Mac, but why should I have to do that, especially when I paid 1400 for this all right? I'm just saying it's! It's ridiculous! You know so I would not. I mean unless you're so heavily vested in the Apple ecosystem, unless you're using Final Cut Pro to edit your videos.
Yes, you know say, say you do record a video, but then again, if you're on that level, more than likely, you probably have a DSLR, or you have a separate camera or a dedicated camera. That's just for that. For that purpose right, but if you're just a regular content creator, you know I'm not going to recommend this phone. You know not for that. You know especially like if you're a hardcore, vlogger and you're going to be out there on the street.
Furthermore, you know, recording the videos and then uploading you're going to be using LTE. So your phone, your phone's, just going to be getting a workout, and it's not going to like this phone does not like getting hot period. Okay, there's nothing! This just that's the way it is, and that's you know I'm not saying that it's not a great phone. I mean I's my daily driver, but I am thinking of selling it now and picking up a regular, iPhone, 12 and running off into the sunset with that and just using regular iPhone 12s and never buying uh, the pro max versions of these iPhones again, and I'm just gonna just you know, use my regular iPhone just for regular iPhone stuff and for my content creation, I'm going to use my Samsung Galaxy devices, because my Samsung Galaxy devices have never left me hanging like that, and I can say the same thing about my lg v40. My lg v40 right here all right this phone right here I could turn it on right now, and I can bust out the videos, and it's going to be it's going to be a trooper all right, even though that phone hasn't been updated or nothing like that.
But anyway, regardless okay, I like iMessage- and I do like you- know: iOS software blah blah blah the Apple ecosystem's cool, but uh yeah. That's the point of this video is the iPhone 12. Pro maps is a little heat machine, and so that is what that is. Okay, anyway, that's gonna, be it for this video. Hopefully you all got something out of it.
If you have any questions hit me up on Twitter, we can talk about it on Twitter. Hit me up on uh hit me up in the comment section of this video I'm on Instagram as well. You know, but anyway, thank all of you for watching. As always, and I will catch all of you in the next one- take care.
