Apple iPad 8th Generation UNBOXING & First Review – With Magnetic Zugu Case!!

Hey guys today is a day I have been waiting for. We are going to be doing an unboxing, specifically the new Apple iPad, 8th generation unboxing and giving you my first impressions and, at the same time, I'm going to show off a really cool new Zulu 8th generation. iPad case review right after this. So if you want to hear the latest gaming news, tech, news reviews and comparisons hit that subscribe button, followed by the bell, so only last week we saw the announcement of the four new products from apple at their September virtual event, we saw two new apple watches, including the series six and also the new SE. In fact, last Friday I did an unboxing of the SE and my first impressions and if you haven't seen that video check it out after this one, we also saw two new iPads, including the new iPad, air, 2020 or iPad Air 4, and also the new 8th generation iPad. What I have right here, the new iPad, has the same design as the 7th generation with that 10.2 inch display, but we are now having the amazing a12 processor inside that is also inside the lights of the iPhone 10s and the 10r, and even the current iPad Mini I'm going to unbox. This iPad then check out the design followed by putting it inside this new Zulu case called the muse case and then do some tests on some apps and also my pencil.

However, before we continue on any further, this channel recently hit 50 000 subscribers. What is to me amazing? So a massive thank you to everyone for all of your support. Since the celebration of this, I have decided to do another giveaway to one lucky subscriber and that subscriber will actually get this iPad. I'm unboxing today it has 32 gigabytes, storage inside and is also the Wi-Fi model I will be announcing. Who will get this iPad when we get over 75 000 subscribers, and I'm going to reveal later on in this video, how you can get your hands on it but make sure for now.

You have subscribed first to be in for a chance, so let's go out to my desk now and start the unboxing of the iPad 8th generation. So I have my iPad right here, and it's a really nice case. I'm sorry! If the light is reflecting it's just the plastic over the top, but you can see it says iPad. There, we've got the Apple logo and on the back we have some other bits and pieces as well. We've got some other details there telling it's a 32 gigabyte model as well, so it's the usual classic iPad box, what you normally get with most iPads.

So let me just grab my scissors just here and what we'll do is open up the cellophane just turn the box back open and just make a nice light piercing across, let's close those up to one side right and then what we do is we just can start to peel. This open comes up quite nice and easily. I'm just gonna. Put that down to one side: don't need that any more right, let's open up the iPad box, so it comes out. Let's pull the lid bits here very carefully, and it should just drop the tray and oh wow.

Sorry, you can see my reflection, but look at that apple certainly like to squeeze the iPad in the box. Let's just take it out and have a look, that's really nice. It feels really light in my hands at the moment. I also got the cellophane we'll just put that to one side see what else we have got inside here. We've got the usual labels, bits and pieces.

Have a quick look see what we've got in here. Okay, so, first, we have, I think, there's a quick guide yep just how to use your iPad, underneath that we've got some sort of warranty document as well. Just put that to one side. What else have we got in here? Let's see if I can get it out. Oh, it's a bit stuck! Oh, the traditional apple stickers that you always get and there's also something else.

There's like a bit of cardboard. I don't know if I can get it out actually nope. Maybe it's not meant to come out, don't know, okay, never mind! It's! Not meant to come out, it's just part of the cardboard, let's put these back together and just put those back in this tray and um. What we'll just do put that to one side as well. Let's see what else is in this box.

We have the new charger and just get it out of this piece of paper here. Glad to see it's not plastic here be good. If I could use the paper on the actual iPad, let me just peel this off: let's have a look inside and there we go and then, if I'm right in the UK here, we've got these cool plugs where, basically you can flip it open like that to get your free prongs, I don't have other countries have that, and then you've also got your USB charging there as well, and then you've got that cable to charge. You actually your iPad. You can get it out of here.

Nope there we go, got some cardboard bits just here. Let me just undo these. If I can, that's one, I can get it off the other one as well. Oh, the whole thing comes off all together and let's pull out that lightning port as well just there and then, as you can see here what we do. We do have the lightning port, and we have the USB port as well so lightning into the iPad USB into the charger.

Let's get that iPad back out again, let's have a deeper look at that: let's get the cellophane off it's like it's a shame! It's not actually the paper, but oh well, let's peel this off! Now, that's peeled off! Now, let's see if I can get it off there now and tell you what I'll just pull it out and start filling with all that packaging there we go! That's better wow! That is really nice and shiny. Look at that! I'm sorry! You can see my face again. Let's just do a quick tidy up of all the bits and pieces before we look at the iPad a bit further, so just put those to one side in the box. Let's push that together and put it down here right, the iPad. It looks really, really nice with the black finish.

It has on the front here and on the back. You've got that space gray. What's really nice as well, it's nice and light in my hands and then here, as you can see, we've got some iPad written then some other details. We've also got the Apple logo there. What's fingerprint sticky at the same time as well, it's nice and thin, and you have some buttons here on the side, you've got the volume rockers up and down just there at the same time.

What else have we got? We've at the top we've got the power button. We've also got the headphone jack. You've also got the camera at the top as well, then, on the side, you've got those ports for the smart keyboard. If you want to attach one of them, but yeah, this classic design still holds up really, really well, I believe and then my hands it feels quite good. Actually it doesn't feel that heavy it's quite light, so yeah, it's really, really good.

I do really like this design still so then, let's power it on them. For the first time there we go, we've got the Apple logo. Come up on the screen, as you can see there, I'll try and get as much reflection out as possible, and we'll just let it just boot up. It's quite quick. Actually, I think we're probably going to get to the main yeah look at that.

That was super quick with that a12 inside. So what I'm going to do now is I'm just going to set up the iPad and then, after that, we'll do some testing, so I've set up the iPad, and we're on the main menu look at that it is beautiful and quickly going here. I've got all my settings everything's set up now everything the way I want it to be, and the airs or my apps yeah, let's just open up, say BBC news. We have right here and look at that pictures load straight away. Everything else is just loading super quickly who needs 120 hertz, but yeah.

The menu system is really, really fast and snappy there just opening up everything. I've got a few widgets there and then all my other controls and control center. There everything seems fine, so yeah, it's brilliant. Let's press that home button again to go back so the other item I have here is a case for the iPad. It is the Zulu moose case, and it is for the seventh generation iPad, but it will fit this 8th generation iPad because it's technically the same size.

So if you've got a 7th generation or 8th generation, it will fit. So, let's just open this up, let's pull up the cellophane again inside this. It's a little tough to get off, but there we go, we've got it off, and we don't need that for now. Let's put this on the table. Let's see if we can drop this open a little harder this case than the iPad one, let's see a bit more pressure, I think, is needed at this end.

There we go it's coming off now. Oh, look at that. That is a really nice finish, like a tissue paper. Look at that! I don't want to rip it, I'm going to rip it, probably at this rate, but that is really nice. It's also got the Zulu label on it as well.

Oh, yep ripped it my apologies to Zulu. So, let's just pull this out and yeah: let's see if we can just slot it out and unravel it, it unravels just here and wow, wow. That feels perfect. Oh, it flips open. Let's get that open there put that out the way, but that feels really, really nice.

This case does: let's just put this to one side, bits and pieces in the cardboard there. We don't need that, but yeah wow look at that. That just feels gorgeous this lever feels really, really nice. It feels really solid. This does but yeah.

I really like the look of this case. Let's just pop this open we've got some foam here, we'll just remove that and the bits and pieces inside. Let me just pull that out. Yeah, and we've also got some other information inside here. Oh, if you leave a review, you get a rebate of some money, so that might be worth doing on Instagram.

Let's put that's one side, and also what have we got here? Oh, it's a little card of information and how to install your iPad into the case and put it in different positions. It even says you can stick this to the fridge. I'm going to have to try that out in a minute and then there's a bit of information from the founders as well a bit of bedtime reading, but yeah some perfect, useful stuff there. I'm just going to put that to one side, but look at the inside of this case. It is beautiful.

It's really, really nice, if you like in this case so far, look at my description below for more details, but let's load the iPad in and see how easy it is to put inside. Let's turn it off click it in order to come back on, but never mind but wow. That's that's, really easy I'll! Just click straight in! In fact, let me show you that again, let me just get that out again. Let me just push up here. Let's pop it out, it's really, really simple to pop back out and then just to push it all back in again.

That's really it, and it's in really, really secure once it's in place and let's just close the lid and yeah. That is really, really nice. I do really love this case. Let's see if we can uh flip it open now again and uh, let's see if we can get it to stand up. So let's just turn it sideways, so you guys can see it a bit clearer and, let's flip it over turn it over and then on the back here.

If I lift it up, we've got this kickstand. Let's pull that out and there are some magnets and oh it just clicks into place. Wow, look at that. It just holds in place. The magnets are so strong, it's just holding it.

That's really useful! I don't. If you've ever had the case it just flips out. Let's try another one yeah again, look, that's just really, really good, it's just holding it in place. That is really amazing. So let's try this iPad out in this case.

Let's just turn it around to you. Guys then just use my thumb to see if it unlocks it come on. Let's try guys get a better angle for you guys come on there. We go it's unlocked now. I've also got my pen here as well, and, as you can see, it works really well flipping it.

I'm sorry the lights are reflecting. Let me just move that away a bit for you guys, but yeah look at that. That is really, really good. Let's see, if we can open BBC news again, I can just flick through and just load everything. That's really, really nice and fluid just come back out on this, and if we just close the case up, actually I just push this here, get it closed and then actually on the back.

There actually is a holder for your pen. So if you've got a pencil, if you've got an Apple Pencil, you can just slot it in their just like that. So, let's just quickly explore the case a little more. It feels really nice. The lever on it, and you've also got all your ports, like your volume, rockers right here same time at the top.

You've also got your power button, and then you've got your one microphone hole port here with the other microphone port there and the 3.5 jack for your headphones just turn it around. You've also got your speaker grilles and microphone whatever down there, and then you've got a nice wide slot to put your lightning cable in there as well, and, of course, I've had to do the test. I've gone down to my fridge in my kitchen and look at that. It's stuck to my fridge, so they weren't wrong. There's some really strong magnets inside this case.

So back to the iPad, 8th generation. What I've decided to do is I've decided to run a geek bench 5 test and, as you can see, we've got a single core count of 1113, and then we've got a multi-core of 2554. In comparison, the a10 chip on the iPad 7th generation. It had a single core count of 747 and a multi of 1 374. , that is a 50 and a 100 increase on the single and multi cores.

Next, let's try Netflix, and I've got johnny English here and let's just press the play button, just to see what the sound sounds like and the quality you can hear here. That sounds perfect from the single speaker here on the side. The quality looks perfect for that universal logo coming up here as well. Let's just see if we just move it along a bit. Let's see how quality looks that looks perfect as well so yeah.

That is really, really sharp and does look really, really good. So, let's just stop that for now and let's just come outside that app and let's move along one of the other, most common apps is just doing some browsing on your iPad, so I have installed chrome on this iPad, so I'm just going to open that up and there we go we're on the apple page and, as you can see, everything just loads really nicely. Nice and snappy, especially chrome, can be known to be a bit heavy on the old, app side of things in the ram department and everything but yeah. That is perfect, and I'm really impressed with this iPad 8th generation. So before we summarize everything up that giveaway I mentioned earlier to be in a chance to get your hands on this iPad, 8th generation.

I want to know from you: have you owned an iPad before, or maybe you own another tablet? Let me know in the comments below and when we get over 75 000 subscribers. I will pick one lucky subscriber to have the iPad, so there we have it the new iPad, 8th generation. You really can't go wrong for 329 us dollars or 329 UK pounds and even 499 Australian dollars right now from my first impressions, if you are starting out on your iPad journey, as Tim Cook said that in the last year 51 of all iPads are for new owners, then this is the one to buy. I would also say, if you own an iPad sixth generation or below, then this is the iPad to get if you're on a budget, then. Finally, if you currently own any other iPads that are not supported by iOS 14, this is the model to consider and is likely apple will be supporting it for at least the next say three years, and if you do that math that makes out to be less than 10 us dollars a month over those three years as the cost of the iPad is 329.

Well guys, it is time to wrap up this video now. So, if you have liked it, please do press the like button and at the same time as well. If you want to hear the latest gaming news, tech, news, reviews and comparisons, don't forget to press subscribe and also don't forget to press that bell until next time guys. I will see you soon, bye.
