2021 Xiaomi Mi Watch (Global) Fitness Smartwatch - AMOLED - 5ATM - Under £90 - Any Good?

What's up guys, chigger and high tech reviews. Today, I've got my hands on the Xiaomi me watch, so this is Xiaomi's latest smart fitness watch with always on display built in GPS, big battery life, big display and lots more now. On the front, we have a 1.39 inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 454 by 454, and it does always support on display and on the top you do have 2.5 d glass. Now the watch itself is made from a plastic case. Finished in black dimensions are 45.9 millimeters in diameter, with 11.8 millimeters thickness, and it weighs only 32 grams without the straps, and here is the weight with the straps on 48.9 grams. You have silicon straps with this textured design, and it's finished in navy blue now the straps can be easily removed and replaced with your own 22 millimeter bands.

This is how the watch looks on my wrist. It's a very light and comfortable beautiful AMOLED display and in case you're wondering my wrist. Circumference is seven inches and this watch does feel very comfortable and light on the wrist. Now, on the side, we have two buttons: a home button, slash power button and the other one is your sports button, so you press it, and it gives you access to your workouts and I believe there are 117 different workouts all together in this watch. Furthermore, this watch connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth version 5, and you also have built-in GPS.

There is, however, no Wi-Fi or NFC in this smartwatch. This watch also does not support Bluetooth phone calls and there is no loudspeaker built in. You will get notifications when someone calls you, but you just won't, be able to take the call on the watch. Instead, you'll have the option to drop the call from the watch now at the bottom of the watch. You will find your heart rate sensor and charger pins, and I'll quickly show you the charger.

So it is a magnetic charging plate which simply clips on the back, and you can charge that up with any 5 watt USB port, and it takes around 100 minutes to fully charge that 420 William hour battery. But the watch will give you a battery life which can last up to 16 days, of course, depending on your usage. Now the watch is running a basic custom OS, which is easy to use and navigate. The touchscreen is actually very responsive, and the watch will track your daily fitness activities, which includes step counter calories, 24 hours, heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. Now all your health tracking activities can be viewed from your smartphone via the Xiaomi wear, app, which I was only able to download on android at the moment.

For some reason I could not pair with my iPhone. Maybe the watch is not quite ready for iOS, but with android it paired immediately and everything's been working great since so quick, look at the smartphone app. So on the top you'll see your status. You will see your total steps and calories and your workout history at the top with the most recent, and you can just tap it, and it will give you all your workouts, and I'll open one of my treadmill workouts and show you what sort of stats, so you've got the date time. Distance pace, duration, calories, you've got cadence your heart rate all throughout, and it gives you your workout performance with your vo2 max and even a recommended recovery time.

So pretty detailed, workout stats. Now here's sleep tracking, total sleep, six hours, 29 minutes deep sleep, 1 hour, 35 minutes it gives you a sleep score, and it gives you a full breakdown. It can record multiple sleep records. So, for example, I went to sleep at 11 59 just before midnight and I woke up at 7 23, but in between that sleep I woke up three times so one two and three, and you can see at the top yellow means awake and so on so forth. So sleep tracking is very good on this watch.

I like how detailed it is, but, most importantly with sleep tracking it records multiple sleep records per night, perfect sleep tracking and the other information you can find in the app is your heart rate, energy stress, standing time, vo2 max and blood oxygen. So, for example, as long as you're wearing the watch, it will track your heart rate throughout the day, and it will give you all your averages as well and likewise the same for your energy stress, blood, oxygen and vo2 max over. Here you have workouts, so you can initiate a workout from the app or, of course you can initiate the workout directly from the watch, which is a lot easier. You can just keep the phone in your pocket on the profile. It will tell you your battery status.

It will give you the options to activate various features like notifications, incoming call alerts and so on so forth, and here are your watch faces. You can change your watch face from the app, or you can change it directly on the watch. Um here are a few that I downloaded. You start off with about six watch faces and if I tap on the online tab, then you'll see a whole library of watch faces that you can download anytime you like, and just to give you guys an example. I will download one.

So let's just grab this one over here in the middle. So we're going to grab this one blue, star, 0.78, megabytes downloading right now, so let's see how long it takes. So that's how long it took to download, install and transfer a watch face from your smartphone and check out that watch face beautiful AMOLED display all the watch faces. Look stunning on this watch. Furthermore, this watch has 5 ATM water resistant rating, which means you can weight this watch whilst you're swimming, and the watch can also track your swimming activities with distance calories, time and strokes.

Now you can change your watch face directly on the watch by keeping the center press for around two seconds, you will feel a vibration, and then you'll be presented with a choice of different watch faces that are pre-installed on this watch, and I'll give you a few examples of the selection available on this watch now, let's quickly go through all the watch features if we swipe down from the top you've got your notifications. Now, these notifications are pushed directly from your smartphone, and they are all read-only notifications. So, for example, I just opened this email. You can read the subject and that's about it. You can't reply or do anything else.

So that's your notifications, if you swipe up from the bottom you've got your quick toggles, so you can quickly switch to do not disturb set, alarms, keep the screen on, and you've got your battery and Bluetooth connection information at the bottom. Now, if you swipe towards the left, you've got your health tiles. First, one is your all-day heart rate sensor. So as long as you've got the watch on, it would constantly check your heart rate. If you swipe again, you've got energy levels, so, when you're wearing the watch throughout the day, it can check your heart rate and your movement and based on that it will.

Let you know your energy level with a score. If we swipe again, you've got your sleep data, here's your local weather. You then have your stress levels spo2. So that's your blood oxygen, and you've got your music. So there is no internal storage to store your music.

This acts as a music, remote control, so the music you play on your smartphone can be controlled with this music. Remote controls in the music will play on your phone. If we swipe again, you got your overview for calories, steps and standing, and then that brings you back to the watch. If you swipe towards the right, you've got exactly the same: apps and tiles so left and right. Swiping does the same thing.

If you hit the home button, it will show you all your apps, and we're going to quickly go through this. So the first one is workouts 117 different workouts. Second, one is your history of workouts. So that's everything. I've done so far with your date and time.

Next up is activities. It will show you a full breakdown of your activity. For that day, you've got your heart rate, so you can immediately check your heart rate out and as long as you're wearing this watch, it will continuously check your heart rate. You've got your spo2 sleep tracking. You've got your energy levels.

Stress levels. You've got a breathing exercises. There's your music alarms, stopwatch timer local weather air pressure. A compass notifications find your phone. You can see what's happening so if you lose your phone behind the sofa, this is definitely going to help.

You've got your torch. So tap to enable- and it just gives you an ultra bright white display- okay, and you've- got a help page. So if you're stuck to scan that qr code it'll give you any help or support that you might need, and then you've got your settings and I will quickly go through the settings because it's quite extensive, so the first one is watch faces. Second, one brightness you can have it set on auto, which is what I normally set it on, but for this video to achieve the right brightness level I have to leave it on three you've got do not disturb which you can activate from the quick settings. You've got, do not disturb raise to wake so raise to wake, is on, and you can set the sensitivity and the time period as well.

I'm not going to put it on high yet, and we're going to see how good the raise to wake is in a bit. You've got your heart rate, so you can have it continuous, and you can have reminders on and off. If you don't want it continuous. If you want it use as you go, you can switch off. Continuous here are your workouts, and this does have automatic workout detection.

So once enabled a notification will be sent when a workout is started or paused. Workout types can include, walking and running your activity. Reminder if you're not active it will give you reminders. You can enable a password on the watch. If you want to keep things personal, Bluetooth reminder if the watch gets disconnected from your phone, you can set it to remind I've got that off, and here are your display options now always on display is off right now and cover to turn off, which is this is on now.

Let's have a look at the always on display and show you what options you get I've enabled it- and here are the always on display watch faces that you can choose, so there's one two, three, four, five six, so you've got six different watch faces that you can have for always on um I'll, show you how that looks. I've set it to phantom, and you'll, see what happens and there's you're always on display, and you can see it's in color as well. Okay, so after display you have vibration, you can have it standard or enhanced. I've got it on standard notification options. You can have it to light up the screen when a notification appears, but I don't find that necessary.12-Hour clock can be turned on and off system settings you've got reboot power off and completely reset languages. I know some of you want to know.

So here are the different languages included, I'm not going to say all of them, because I know I'm going to get them wrong, but Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, no idea Polish, Turkish and you can read Indonesian Romanian Netherlands and back to English all right. So we're going to do a quick screen on hand raised tests on the left. I've got the watch on the right. We have the galaxy watch 3. So here we go one two three me watch actually looked faster to me.

Let's do that again. Let's try it once more. This is the decider more or less the same. I think me watch took it there, but at the end of it we have established that the watch has a very fast screen on hand race. So next up we're going to test out the accuracy of the heart rate sensor.

So this is the o2 ring. It's a medical grade, heart rate and spo2 sensor. Let's test out the heart rate, and you can see my heart rate is quite high. At the moment, 123 beats per minute, which is high. Yes, it is no.

The device is not malfunctioning. That is a fact. I am unhealthy, and hopefully this year I'm going to improve things. Now here is the heart rate on the watch. We've got 117 beats per minute and if you can see both of them at the same time, 118 119, 119, they're, pretty even 123 and that's on 119 120, that's gone up to 120.

No smartwatch outs. There is medical grade standards, but the point on my test is to see how close we can get to medical standards. So yes, I can certainly say that we've got a decent heart rate sensor in this me watch and let's go ahead and check out the spo2 levels measuring right now. Okay, so we are now testing the sp02 on my o2 ring. It shows 97 total score 99 on the watch and 97 on the ring.

So that is what you can expect from the health tracking on the watch, and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with the accuracy of the heart rate sensor. So there you have it guys. That was the Xiaomi me watch. So here is another good smart fitness watch to consider. Now this one is priced around 89 pounds or 118 us dollars.

Now the watch looks nice. It's built well for the price. I love the design and how the color blends nicely into the straps. The watch is super light and comfortable on the wrist. The AMOLED display looks nice and bright both indoors and outdoors.

Now you have pretty accurate health tracking and a very good detailed sleep detection. There are plenty of premium features included, such as GPS, 24 hours, heart rate, spo2, 5 ATM 117, different fitness modes, 16 day battery life, and you even have automatic, workout start and pause now. The only thing to mention is the watch case is made from plastic. So whilst it does not affect the performance of the watch, but it also takes away that element of premiums that this could have had. But that being said, I still like how the watch looks and feels on the wrist now.

A few other things to mention there is no Bluetooth calls no third-party app support. You have no built-in NFC, but considering this is a smart fitness watch designed predominantly for fitness and health. It already comes with all the apps you're going to need for it. So bottom line a budget. Smart fitness watch, which includes some premium features normally only found in the more expensive watches and the result is an accurate fitness tracking watch, which is quite enjoyable to wear with plenty of features to keep you busy, and it also has a very good smartphone, app included for those detailed reports.

But I could not get it to work on my iPhone. Hopefully an update will resolve it and if it do, I'll update you guys in a pin comments and with that being said, I will leave the links in the description, so you guys can check this product out. Meanwhile, thank you so much for watching, and I hope you all have a brilliant day. I'll see you guys in the next one. You.
