Xperia 5ii (UK Blue Version) -- FIRST LOOK 🔥

Hi guys it's harry here, welcome back to the channel now just a quick video this evening, because this beauty finally arrived. It's a new Sony, Xperia 5 mark ii. Now I'm sure you haven't failed to notice if you've been following the channel that the Xperia one mark ii released earlier this summer has been one of my favorite phones of the year and Sony got so much right with that phone. It had a gorgeous display fantastic specs and a great camera, but it was a very expensive phone. That's over a thousand pounds, so the Xperia 5 mark ii looks to replicate the success of the one mark ii at a much more palatable price. This one in the UK starts at 799 pounds, so it's still not a cheap phone by any means, but much more affordable than the one mark ii.

So I thought we'd take a quick first look at the phone this evening. If you enjoy my content, hit the like button and the subscribe button as well. That'd be amazing. Okay. So here we have the Xperia 5 mark ii box and, like the one mark ii, it comes in a really understated white package here which I think looks really classy.

Nothing too garish here and I think that's the theme of this phone. So let's take a look inside. Oh I'll, just get rid of the knife. Before I cut my finger off, so what have we got? We got the phone itself and a little packet there we'll come back to that. Then we've got some paperwork and inside we've got the charger which I believe is an 18 watt charger and an USB c to USB, cable.

So far so very standard. Interestingly, look there are no headphones. It looks like there's a little space there were headphones could have gone, but there are no there's no headset just as well. I've got about a million lying around so get rid of the box. So let's take a look at the phone itself next, and this is the blue version, which you can only get online at the moment in the UK anyway, there's a film and at the back you can see straight away.

Is that lovely blue color slightly hard to see in this light, but believe me, it is blue, and you've got the blue aluminum rail around the other side. We'll have a look at that in a moment, time to get the wrapper off lovely and the back's just got a little sticker on it, which will take off as well and there's a phone in all its glory, and the first thing to say is having come straight from the one mark ii. This thing just feels so compact in comparison, it's by no means a small phone 6.1 inches, but it's just so much easier to hold on to the edges are less straight as well they're slightly rounded, although not as much as something like the iPhone 11, not sure how I feel about that, particularly I quite liked the squared off edges. It's the same 21x9 aspect ratio as we'll see in a minute when we turn it on. We've got similar hardware buttons, so volume rocker, fingerprint scanner and on off button camera button.

But this is the somewhat controversial new Google Assistant button, which we'll um have a look at when we look at the phone in more detail, and we've got the USB charging port and then that lovely, easy to pull sim tray, gorilla, glass front and back very similar, shaped camera bump to the one mark ii you can see. It's still got the three sensors that we got used to and loved on the one mark ii only difference this time is: there's no time of flight sensor. So, let's fire it up. So you can have a quick look at the screen. This is just a first look I'll of course, go and set the phone up properly and the next video is going to be a comparison between this and the one mark ii uh phone launches with android 10 installed.

It's a shame. It doesn't come with android 11 pre-installed. One of my only criticisms of Sony uh in terms of the software experience is that they are one of the slower OEMs to update their phones, and traditionally they've not provided more than about a year's worth of android upgrades. I hear on unofficially that, like Samsung, we've promised three years for this year's flagships going forward. I hope that's the case, but there we are there's this screen turned on and, as you can see, it's a gorgeous big bright by 9 aspect ratio screens.

So that's it! That's your first look at the phone gorgeous thing feels solid, reassuringly solid, although not heavy at all. I just think it's a gorgeous looking phone and I can't wait to set it up and start using it so stay tuned.
