XIAOMI Redmi Note 9T 5G Flip Case by Hoomil Available on Amazon - Unboxing & Review

Hi there it's Lukas for the tech, travel geeks, and today we're unboxing and reviewing a wholemeal flip case for the Redmi Note 9t by Xiaomi. If you haven't already make sure to subscribe to the tech travel geeks to see more videos from us, we recently received a review unit of the Redmi Note 90 from Xiaomi, and we've just unboxed and set it up here on our channel. If you haven't yet make sure to check the setup video where we tried something else and filmed it in the form of a cooking recipe, let us know what you thought about it, but let's get back to this video, the phone actually comes with a transparent gel case, but I've been using flip cases since the HTC one m8 back in 2014, mostly to allow me to watch videos with a stand. So I got the flip case from Amazon straight away, link in the description below. Unlike many previous cases, we unboxed this one comes in a rather large box branded by humid. Interestingly, there's no mention of which phone this is for, so it looks like a generic box.

They use for all of their cases, which is definitely cheaper and faster, there's also a safety seal, but just on one side, so we can easily open the other side to get the case out inside. We can see that the case has two extra covers on it: to keep it safe. Both branded wholemeal, there's also a lifetime warranty card in multiple languages. So that's great to see once we remove the packaging, it turns out that the case is quite sturdy, but feels a bit stiff. It's PTU or leather plastic leather, so it's likely to soften a bit, there's also a magnetic strap and on the back, a cutout for the camera unit inside there's some styrofoam to keep the case in shape during delivery.

The inside is light brown, color and quite nice in touch the plastic container, for the phone is actually a bit flexible, which should be fine. There are also two containers for cards, so you can put your credit cards or ID there. There's also another container on the side for money or similar in case you want to keep it there now that I think of it. This case is almost identical to the one I already have for the pixel 5, but that one was branded as case collection. They look the same from both inside and outside.

With the same light brown color I've been happy with the pixel 5 case. So that's good news back to this case. At the top, there are two cutouts for the microphones and the infrared blaster. There is no cutout for the top speaker, but I guess they assumed nobody will be using the phone. With the case closed, so it will depend on the personal use case.

There are a few custom cutouts at the bottom, including the carriage port or 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, the USB c port microphone and speaker. So it should be fine, there's nothing on the left, and we'll discuss the right side once we put the phone in the phone fits in nicely and looks quite good. However, bear in mind that this case adds quite a bit of extra size to the device and what's more important, more weight. I went ahead and compared the weight of this case to a few other flip cases. I had handy the cases from the lightest to heaviest were pixel 5 at 66 grams Samsung, Galaxy S9, plus at 71, Huawei P30 Pro at 74, and finally, the Redmi Note 90 flip case at 85 grams.

So when you add the case, you'll end up with 280 grams total, with almost 30 percent of the total weight being the case. So keep that in mind. Coming back to the right side of the case, the volume rocker works, just fine, no problems there. Unfortunately, the rather large magnetic strip covers the fingerprint scanner, so it's rather difficult to unlock the phone before opening the case. In this case, the best solution will be something similar to the Samsung Galaxy s9 plus, where there's no strip in the way.

Actually, as I'm working on this video, I've just ordered the case, which should help with both the weight and the fingerprint scanner issues on AliExpress, we'll review that case in the next few weeks as soon as it gets delivered from China. One thing I do like other than the good build quality is the fact that it works great as a stunt when watching video. That's my favorite feature by far and watching both YouTube videos and movies on Netflix is a great experience. So, overall, I'm quite happy with the case, especially that the delivery from Amazon took just over a day. If the issues mentioned above, don't bother you and time and convenience are more important.

It's a good case to have for sure and will serve me well for the next few weeks, while I'm waiting for the other one. So those are our thoughts about the home wheel case for the Redmi Note 90 by Xiaomi. Let us know what you think about it in the comments below and if you haven't already make sure to subscribe to the tech travel links to see more videos from us, including the next case, we'll be testing and the full review of the Redmi Note 90 coming up thanks for watching.
