Xiaomi Poco X3 VS LG G7 (Cameras, Speed & Speakers) 2020-2021

All right guys today we'll be discussing the LG G7 versus the Poco x3 uh. So let's go ahead and get started with the price. So, as you guys know, I still think the g7 is the best budget phone around the 200 to 150 price point. You can find it really cheap on Amazon and eBay, I'll be sure to uh, put the links down below, but a very cheap phone, and you get a lot of phones. It pretty much beats pretty much every budget phone um when it comes to specs uh, but the Pogo x3, pretty interesting phone. It's very spec heavy as well for 250 um is as cheap as I've seen it on Amazon.

So let's go ahead and get started with the hardware, so I still think the g7 is a really nice looking phone. I do prefer the look and feel in the hand over the x3 and, like I saw some of you guys in the comments I was talking about. You think the camera module was a little ugly, and I'm glad somebody else said it because I just it's just you can't tell me that this is not weird looking um it just whatever phone you compare it to it's, just it's bulky, but it doesn't take photos to justify. Like you, we know on the s20 ultra, that's bulky for a reason this is bulky, and it just takes photos that you would expect it to right um. So I just don't know why they went with this design.

I love Xiaomi phones, you know April is one of my favorite design, uh on a smartphone but yeah just a weird design, but, as you can see, cameras on the back physical fingerprint scanner on the g7, let's go around something. I love about this phone again. The fingerprint scanner is on the side of the phone. We have both power buttons right here, flip to the other side, Google Assistant button on the g7 volume, rocker and uh down below headphone jack on both quad DAC on the g7 audio lovers, quad deck you're, going with that automatically USB single speaker, stereo speakers on the Poco x3 and, as you can see a little bigger the x3 and definitely thicker and heavier than the g7. If you guys don't know, the g7 is my favorite feeling phone in the hand um.

I could, I wish they made a phone like this with the same dimension just without the notch full screen. That's my ideal. Um screen size, so you guys know. I use these seven pro, but I would give anything to have a form factor like this. With a no notch display.

It would just be awesome all right, so let's go ahead and discuss the display. So on the x3 you have an IPS 120 hertz HDR 10 6.7 inch display 1080p 395 for the PPI on the g7 a little smaller display 6.1 inch, 1440p 564 for the PPI, so just like with the v50. This is. This comes down to choice right, so we all know what 120 hertz bring. If you don't know, it just makes the phone super smooth when you're bouncing in and out of applications, scrolling, uh, social media.

You know whatever you're doing on your phone. It's going to feel super buttery smooth. Now it's not something that you have to have um, but it's something that you know everyone wants just like with the new iPhones. It didn't have the uh, 90hz or 120 hertz. Everybody was disappointed, so 120 hertz in high refresh rate, it's the future, but you don't necessarily need to have it right.

Um, but as far as which display is better the g7 to me, it does have the sharper display uh, you will. If you look up close uh, everything is just going to be. Sharper text is going to be sharper, and you're just going to see overall uh just more detail if you're watching like nature's stuff, but both of these are two excellent displays, but you do have the Sancho, which is something that I love. It gives off a more immersive experience, and you do have the notch only g7. So you might not like that, but yeah overall, two very good displays, like I said it comes down to do you want a high-res display or do you want? You know a 120 hertz display, and you want to feel that you know buttery, smooth uh experience when you're scrolling and stuff like that and also games are compatible with 120 hertz um as well.

So that's the decision you're going to have to make and again the Poco x3 is a little bigger. So that is something to take into consideration, but overall, two excellent display qualities. If I was going to pick um, you know I like refresh freight it's kind of hard, because I like a high refresh rate, but I also like 1440p um, but honestly I would take the 1440p. But again that's just me. Okay, let's talk about these specs a little more.

So on the g7 we have android 10 with the snapdragon 845 and arena 630 micro, SD support, 64, gigs of internal storage and four gigs of ram on the x3. We have uh the snapdragon 732 g with uh android 10 on mini 12. , 64, gigs of internal storage and six gigs around. So we get slightly more ram on the uh x3, but as far as pure processing power uh, the g7 is still going to be the more powerful the device here. All right.

Let's go ahead and start with a web browsing test, open androidcentral. com. It's like the g7 got it there slightly. That was really close, though YouTube x3 play, store, g7 um. What else do we have subway surfer, x3, g7, um Instagram, look like I can't tell which one it was, but I think yeah.

I think it was the g7 they just loaded that up. That was really, really close and let's do uh pub g here, a heavy game, and it looks like the g7 is going to load it up first and can also show you the graphics and stuff as well and yeah. The g7 is in already, and we're just now in on the uh x3, all right, let's go to graphics. So again the g7 is still going to be a very good gaming device um. As you can see, we can go up to HDR ultra frame rates and on the x3 we can only do HD and high, so you will have slightly better graphics and frame rates on the um, g7 and um yeah.

So again it comes down to for gamers. It really comes down to. Is the 120 hertz, something that you really like now? There are some 120hz games in the play store, and they look really cool uh that are compatible, so it really comes down to what you want. Do you want the know, the extra juice extra graphic power frame rates games like this? I know frame rates are really important. Uh, but again that comes down to you, but for gaming the g7 is going to be the more you know powerful device.

Here now you do have stereo speakers on the x3, but let's see how they compare to the g7's one single speaker uh, so you can hear a little more depth uh with the 808s on the g7. I do think the Poco is a little louder and the kicks are hitting a little harder, uh, so you're getting kind of like, I think, you're getting a, get a more balanced sound on the g7, but the Poco is a little louder. Yes, it's definitely louder, but it's not as balanced as the g7 uh speaker there, but both as you can hear sound great and are very loud all right. Let's talk about the additional features and getting into the phone, so ip68 dust and water resistant. I can drop it in the toilet, and it won't break immediately uh.

The x3 is ip53 splash proof. So if I drop it in some water, it'll probably break um. So just do note that both of these phones have NFC both of these phones or the Pogo. X3 actually has the infrared as well uh. So you can use it kind of like as a remote controller uh, which is pretty cool and um again quad deck on the g7 high quality audio.

If you've got perfect pair of headphones and let's talk about getting into the phone, so they both have a physical fingerprint scanner and uh they're, both extremely fast like. Like you guys, uh already know, I prefer the one on the side only polo. I just really think it's convenient, because I don't have to pick the phone up to unlock it like when I'm doing these videos like this, sometimes I just like to unlock it like that these, you kind of, have to pick up um, but they're, both fast. They both have faced unlock, which works very fast as well. Also, let's go ahead and get into the pictures.

So I'm starting with the g7 on the g7. You have a dual camera setup: 16 megapixel standard 16, megapixel, ultra-wide 4k, video 30 or 60 fps, and an 8 megapixel selfie at 1080p. Basically, the g7 takes some pretty good photos, but you have to throw Guam on this phone if you want to get the most out of the photos um, but for an older flagship. I think the photos are perfectly fine. I think they're actually really on par with the polo.

So let's go ahead and talk about the polo's camera. You have a quad camera set up, so have more cameras to play with a 64 megapixel standard, 13, megapixel, ultra-wide 2 megapixel macro and a 2 megapixel depth get 4k video, 20 megapixels, a selfie camera and that shoots in 1080p um. You know the Pogo x3 takes pretty good photos again for its price range. It's not going to blow you away. I think the photos with both of these phones are pretty on par or pretty comparable um.

So they're, not I wouldn't say one is that much better than the other, because then again you can throw g cam on the g7 and the photos really start to look like you know the Poco with just different uh color profiles. So I wouldn't say no one is so much better than the other. Honestly now, as far as battery life, the Poco has a crazy 6 000 William battery uh with 33 watt fast charging. No wireless charging, the g7 has a 3 000 William battery 18 watt fast charging with wireless charging. So basically, you're just going to get much better battery life on the x3.

So if you need a phone, that's going to get you crazy battery life, I'm talking around 9 to 10 hours of screen on time, then the x3 is just a beast with such a massive battery. But again you don't have wireless charging, which I always find convenient. The g7 will get you around 6 hours and 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on how you use it, which is definitely a full day of battery life. So it's not terrible. But what do you guys think be sure to let me know, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
