Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra vs iPhone 12 Pro Max - Ultimate Smartphone Comparison! Clash of the Flagships!

What's up guys high there from high tech reviews. So today I bring you another ultimate head-to-head showdown between two flagship smartphones, so we have Xiaomi's me 11, ultra versus apple's, iPhone 12 Pro max, so this is the best flagship, top-end smartphones from each of these companies. I've been using both of these smartphones as my daily drivers for quite a while. Now and today I bring you an extreme head-to-head comparison where we'll be comparing everything from the sensors screen, build quality and lots more now, the me11 ultra is priced 1199 and the iPhone 12 Pro max is priced 1099. So the mi 11 ultra is a hundred pounds more than the iPhone 12 Pro max, but is it a better phone, and what does that hundred pound extra get you well? We should certainly find out by the end of this video, so no idea who's going to win. This is every much of a surprise for me as it's going to be for you so beginning with the first round, which is boxes and accessories.

So you can see side by side. The iPhone 12 Pro box is tiny in comparison. You can fit three of these iPhone 12 boxes to make up one me 11 ultra box. So what do we get inside the box? Well with the iPhone you're, getting a lightning charger and paperwork with some apple stickers? That is all you get, but with the me11 ultra, you are getting some paperwork a silicon case, USB type-c charger and if that was not enough, you're getting a 67 watt, fast charger included in the box. So the first round goes to the mi 11.

There's no doubt about that one. So the current score is one zero. So next up we are talking about the design and build quality. So Xiaomi's me, Kevin ultra is made from metal and ceramic with gorilla, glass, 7 Vitus on the front. The color is called ceramic white, and you can also pick this up in ceramic black and my first impressions of this smartphone was.

It looks like a beast. This is the ultra of the ultras, the beasts of the beasts. It's an amazing smartphone build quality. Everything is maxed out in this phone, so you've got the maximum ram maximum storage. The best chipset.

Look at that camera bump, it's absolutely massive and all three of those cameras can shoot in 8k, and you've got an incredibly cool secondary display on the back now the iPhone 12 Pro max is made from metal and glass. The metal is, of course, stainless steel, but the front of the phone- and I think most of you will agree- looks super outdated. Now. Both phones are quite slim and light. The mi 11 is 8.4 millimeters and weighs 234 grams and the iPhone 12 Pro max is 7.4 millimeters and weighs 226 grams. Both smartphones are also ip68 certified, so it looks like in the build and design department.

Xiaomi has done a much better job. The camera bump is massive you're, either going to like it or hate it, but I personally really like that camera bump um when you're using that camera, you look like you mean business and especially as they manage to fit that unique secondary display in the bump. So, more innovation and better overall design and build quality so again round two goes to the mi 11 ultra, bringing our scores to 2-0. Now, let's talk about the screens, the Xiaomi mi 11 ultra has a 6.81 inch AMOLED display and the iPhone 12 Pro max has a 6.7 inch. OLED display me: 11 offers 120 hertz refresh and a who plus display with a screen res of 3200 by 1440, whereas the iPhone is standard, 60hz, quad, HD, that's a 1284x2778 resolution.

The mi 11 will give you the latest gorilla glass, 7 Vitus and the iPhone will give you ceramic shield, which is supposed to be the strongest glass you can buy. Now. If we talk about brightness me, 11 has a peak brightness of 1700 nits and the iPhone has a peak brightness of 1300 nits, but in everyday use. Both displays. Look impressive, nice bright displays with great colors and contrast, but in comparison, mi, 11's, full screen display and 120 hertz refresh and no notch design is definitely a step ahead from the iPhone.

So that means round three is also taken by the 11 ultra, bringing our scores to 3-0. Now, let's talk about processing power. Both smartphones are powered by a five nanometer chipset, so we are talking about the snapdragon triple eight versus the Apple A14 bionic. The mi 11 also has 12 gigs of LP ddr5 ram with 256 gigs of internal storage. On the other hand, the iPhone comes with six gigs of lpddr4 ram and 128 gigs of internal storage, so you're getting double the ram and also faster ram and double the internal storage.

Also, both smartphones support 5g with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth version 5, but neither smartphones support micros expansion. So you can expect the very best flagship performance for general operation and gaming. Both phones are able to play Call of Duty mobile on the highest graphical settings. Just want to quickly show you the graphics settings, so me 11 ultra. This is cod mobile, so very high, graphics and frame rate set to max I'm just checking out the graphics settings on iPhone, so you've got very high, graphics and also maximum frame rate.

So both smartphones will give you the very best gaming experience and here's some gameplay. We captured footage enemy, taking b enemies, and here is some gameplay footage from the iPhone 12 Pro max keep on them get. You can expect the very best gaming experience from both smartphones. So who gets the point for this round? Well, we're going to have to turn to the benchmarks for this one as it's a close call, the bigger and faster of ram in the mi 11 ultra could be the difference maker. Well, here are the an tutu results for both the Xiaomi mi 11 ultra achieves 800k and the iPhone 12 Pro max achieves 594 k.

So, as you can see, the mi 11 ultra has absolutely thrashed the iPhone 12 Pro max in an tutu benchmark results. So it looks like another dominant round for Xiaomi's me 11 ultra and the iPhone 12 Pro max is taking an absolute beating. So current scores four zero. What about sustaining real-time performance? So the more you use a device the temperature gradually increases affecting performance. So to test this, I ran three back-to-back an tutu benchmark tests on each device to see if it can sustain its performance and to see what sort of drop in performance we're going to experience.

So here are the results for both. So, as you can see, the m11 ultra achieved 800k in the first test, thereafter 784 and the third test was seven six ones. The iPhone 12 Pro max achieved five. Nine four and second test was five. Six five and the third test was five four three, so it looks like the m11 ultra achieved a better benchmark, result in all three tests, but also maintained the performance with only a slight drop but iPhone, on the other hand, dropped performance considerably by the final test.

So it looks like five nil to Xiaomi's me 11 ultra, so the mi 11 ultra is well ahead. I can't see iPhone 12 coming back from this, but we do have quite a few categories left. So, let's see what happens so next up, we are testing the internal disk speeds, so the mi 11 ultra has a 256 gig, UFS 3.1 and the iPhone 12 Pro max has 128 gigs. But the iPhone has a different storage. It supports NVMe, so it should be interesting to see which smartphone uses the faster internal storage, and here are the results.

The mi 11 ultra achieved one gigabyte per second read and 741 megabytes per second right and the iPhone 12 Pro max achieved. Read speeds of 808 and write speeds of 474 megabytes per second, so higher the result better. The performance of the internal storage, so faster internal storage means you can transfer files to and from the device much quicker, and it also gives a boost to the device when opening and closing, and also installing and downloading stuff. So me, 11 ultra again takes this round absolutely thrashing the iPhone bringing our score to six nil. So next category is system OS.

Now the mi 11 ultra is running android 11 with me, UI 12 on top and the iPhone 12 Pro max is running iOS 14. Now here's the thing I can tell you, which one is my favorite, but it will be really subjective and bias. Everyone has their different opinion when it comes to android versus iOS, so not going to go down that road. Both are very productive. Os's both have their pros and cons.

So it would only be fair to give them a point each for this round. So iPhone finally scores a point, but is it too late for the iPhone to catch up so current score? 7-1? Now one of the most important categories in the smartphone, I think, is cameras um nowadays in a flagship you would expect the very best cameras' money can buy, and that is what you can expect with both of these smartphones. So the mi 11 ultra has a 50 megapixel main sensor by Samsung. There is also a 48 megapixel wide and a 48 megapixel tell macro lens, so all big maxed out lenses there. You can even see it says 120 times, zoom AI cameras, so you're getting the best of everything in this me 11.

They've uh they've not held back they've, given you the very best sensors that they could afford to put in this phone now. The iPhone 12 Pro max has a very simple setup: 12 megapixel primary 12 megapixel wide and a 12 megapixel telephoto, and for our selfies, the mi 11 ultra has a 20, megapixel tiny hole, punch camera on the top left-hand corner so well out. The way doesn't look bad gives you a nice big, looking screen with no distractions. The iPhone 12 Pro max has a 12 megapixel camera on a massive notch that notch just doesn't seem to go away, no matter which iPhone gets released. You're going to get that notch.

So as expected, both phones have a whole host of camera features, including optical image, stabilization for smooth looking video, but the m11 ultra supports 8k video recording and the iPhone 12 Pro max supports 4k video. Now, on paper, the mi 11 ultra sounds more badass and with higher megapixel sensors, more camera features to play around with more modes and more settings. So you could automatically assume me.11 ultra is better, which it might indeed be, but that is not the way I like to test things. Let's get practical, let's compare just the main sensors and also the most commonly used modes for everyday camera usage. So, first up we're comparing the primary sensors so in standard photo mode.

The mi 11 takes 12 megapixel photos via pixel binning and the iPhone 12 Pro max takes 12 megapixel shots as standard with the primary sensor so side by side. You can see pretty good-looking shots from both, in fact, it's quite hard to tell them apart. The photos are nearly identical, so it looks like equally good cameras on both for taking regular photos. Now in this shot, we are comparing the digital zoom. The iPhone allows a maximum of 12 times digital zoom in photo mode.

So I match that zoom with the mi 11 ultra, and you can clearly see the mi 11 looks much better. The subject is completely in focus with very good contrast, so you can definitely expect better results when using the zoom feature on the mi 11 when compared to the iPhone- and that is of course due to the large megapixel sensors that comes with the ultra. So now, let's check out some selfies, it's 12 megapixels on the iPhone versus 20 megapixels on the mi 11 ultra, so straight away, I'm preferring the iPhone's natural color and detail. Also handling of dynamic range seems to be better on the iPhone's front. Camera now same story on the portrait mode, the iPhone results, look more natural and better overall edge detection and dynamic range.

So it looks like I'm preferring the results of the iPhone's front camera. We are now checking out some 4k 30fps video on both smartphones, and you can see both videos look super smooth with optical image stabilization. The dynamic ranges handle very well on both you have a slightly lower contrast on the mi 11 ultra making the video looks slightly brighter, but otherwise, I think both smartphones capture, equally good video at 4k 30, and you have to look very closely to see a difference between these now I know there are so many other features I could compare to get a more definitive winner, as both smartphones have many modes and features to play around with the mi 11. Ultra, of course, has a lot more modes and features to play with than the iPhone, but I just wanted to test the most commonly used sensors for photos, videos and selfies, and to sum this one up photos look equally good on both so point each there zoom results are better on the mi 11, so that's 2-1 selfies are better on the iPhone, so that's 2-2 and video quality is equally crisp and super stabilized on both smartphones, so that's 3-3. So that means in this basic primary camera test.

That's basic point and shoot test. Both smartphones have achieved a point each now. I know this is subjective and will cause a huge debate of questions, but a full camera test is coming soon in a future video and that should make things a bit more obvious. So that brings our score to 8 2. Now, both of these smartphones come with the very latest.

Wi-Fi 6 5g built-in NFC you've got Bluetooth version 5, and they are both ip68 certified, but you are not getting any audio jacks or micro SD expansion on either of these devices all right. So now we're going to test out the sounds now. The meat 11 ultra does have stereo speakers supporting high-res audio tuned by Harman Kardon. So you have one speaker at the bottom, and you have one on the earpiece top firing, and you also have a vent on the side, so it gives you a kind of side firing and top firing effect in one now. The iPhone 12 Pro max also has stereo speakers, but this one supports Dolby, Atmos, sound, so a single speaker at the bottom and a single speaker on the earpiece, so that's side firing and top firing.

Now, let's just do a quick, sound test to see which one sounds better, so volume on max on both. So let's begin with the me11 ultra. Here we go, so both devices produce very good quality sound. They are clear loud with no distortion on either. Now I like how they both sound.

The speakers are great for music movies and gaming, but I feel the m11 is slightly louder than the iPhone, but the iPhone is slightly richer than the mini 11, so it's truly tough to choose between them as they both sound. So damn good, not just this one track. I've tried many sounds music movies and games, and I believe they both deserve a point in the sound department, excellent sound from both smartphones, bringing our scores to 93 people. So next category battery and fast charging the mi 11 ultra, has a 5 000 William hour battery and supports 67 watt fast charging and the 67 watt fast charger is included in the box and guess what people it takes only 57 minutes to get from zero to 100 percent. Now that is incredible.

Not only that me 11 also supports 67 watts of wireless charging. Now the iPhone 12 Pro max, on the other hand, has a 3687 William hour battery, which is a kind of strange figure. Why not just put a 4 000 million power battery in uh? What's the deal with 3687 um, only apple's going to understand that one now iPhone supports 20 watts fast charging, and you don't get the charger in the box. So if you have a previous charger, and it's a 20 watt charger, then you can take advantage of that fast charging, but that fast charging is still not as fast as the me11 ultra. It takes two hours and 19 minutes to charge from zero to 100, which feels like a very long time and only 15 watts.

Wireless charging blazing fast charging speeds with the mi 11 ultra and slow charging speeds with the iPhone 12 Pro max now. Battery life for general use, normal usage is great on both they will both last you a day, but the 11 ultra is a monster in comparison to the iPhone when it comes to battery life and battery life charging. This is the apex predator. I don't even need to tell you how long this battery lasts. It's a 5, 000 William hour battery beautiful AMOLED display 120 hertz screen.

You can really enjoy this phone for a longer period of time than the iPhone so final score for this match on the screen. Right now in front of you, 10 3 people, 10 3. , so there you have it guys. That was my head-to-head comparison between two flagship giants. So the Xiaomi mi 11 ultra versus apple's, iPhone 12 Pro max, covering everything from the box, design, screen, specs performance cameras and lots more so very interesting results.

The winner without any doubt, is Xiaomi's me 11 ultra and here is the breakdown on screen. So you can see exactly how they both scored throughout now we have not had a smartphone on this channel that has ever won every single round. The mi 11 ultra scores a point in every single round. It has not lost even one round, so the 100 pound extra for the mi 11 ultra gets you a bucket full of features. There is just no competition here.

Apple's flagship is nowhere near as good as Xiaomi's flagship. The value for money is just not there when you buy an iPhone 12 Pro max when compared to the mi 11 ultra apple simply has a superb ecosystem behind it, which reels you into buying a new iPhone, but the value and technology is always far behind, especially compared to Xiaomi's latest me11. Ultra now Xiaomi has put everything into this phone. There is absolutely no compromise apart from headphone jack and SD card. So what do you guys think? Do you agree with the scores and if not, how would you guys score it? Let me know in the comments which phone would you go for and why and with that being said, I hope you found this video useful.

I hope it helps you make your choice um if you're thinking of buying one of these smartphones. Thank you so much for watching. If you're in the UK enjoy the weather while it lasts and definitely wish you all an amazing day, I'll see you all in the next one peace you.
