Hey, what's up its wick for Xiaomi phi, and today I've got the 11 the global edition, as this one will be the one that is being sold outside of China. Let's have a look if it's any good and let's do a real, deep dive into the camera and really look at some photos and videos. So let's go so here's the global version. I didn't get this one with a box, as I had this one before launch to try it out for a while, but I was told that this actually does come with a wall charger which the Chinese one didn't in terms of specs. It's the same as the Chinese version, although for global they only seem to have the 8 gig ram version with either 128 or 256 gigs of storage. If you want to see my first video about the 11 when it came out in China, you can find that video right here and there I will go into much more detail about the specs of the phone.
So first, let's look at the global version in terms of performance, as it does have that snapdragon 888. It is really fast, and it's super responsive and snappy. I really did not experience it being slow, and it was very pleasant in daily use. The Wi-Fi and 5g performance was exactly like you'd expect as well, and I got some very good results with this phone. As this is the global version, it did come pre-loaded with all the Google apps, which is something that seems to become very difficult with the Chinese versions of these phones with the upcoming mini 12.5. So thus far, it's been doing very well.
On my end, the only thing that disappointed me slightly is that there's no 12 gig version. One thing I didn't look at in my full review are the protective cases in China. Xiaomi has already launched two different cases and the first one is this denim type of case they've also got this plastic case, which I think is an antibacterial case as it looks and feels very similar to the case of the met anti pro so right now, there are two different cases out in China: I'm not sure if they will launch them for global, but well they're. Here now, let's look at the camera as it's a very, very satisfying camera to use. It's got that main 108 megapixel main camera that you can use at a lower resolution if you want, but we can also use the full sensor with the full 108 megapixels.
Those photos came out. Looking very, very good again. I've done a few rounds around the block here in shanghai to take some photos over the last few weeks and once again, this one really was a joy to shoot with, and it just constantly kept giving me good results when you zoom into some of these photos to a hundred percent like this one right here, you can see how well it captures the details and the noise levels are very well controlled, especially during the day. All the photos have some very good details and I just couldn't stop taking photos with it. It's really satisfying.
I had a few photos like this one right here where, when you zoom in you can see it loses some details in the bricks on this building on the top floors. But on a picture like this, you can see that the background details are just fine, even though those are actually further away from the camera. If I take this picture right here, and I zoom in to 100 on this building, you can see the top floor. Details are still there, so I don't know. Maybe the bricks have too much small details that it kind of filters it out with the noise reduction.
I really don't have many photos that I didn't like the camera in this one, just inspired and motivated me to go out and shoot which I've had with several phones. Before, like the note, 10 the 10 pro and the mites ultra and the mi 11 really falls in that line, as all the photos came out with so much detail and the colors are so good, it's just a joy to shoot with when it gets darker. It's still held up quite well. This here is when the lights are more dimmed, and it lit up the picture really well. Also in these shots you can see it holds up really well.
I did notice that the shutter speed got a bit slower when it gets darker, and you might get some motion blur, as you can clearly see that right here and there's definitely a little more noise artifacts and things get a little more smudgy or blurry. When you take something that has actual motion in it also when it gets a lot darker, it did hold up quite well. Most of these photos at night came out looking good. The noise is there, but it is controlled quite well as you can see when we zoom into a picture like this there's. Surely some noise, but again it's controlled quite well when shooting video, it's exactly the same thing.
I had some very, very good, looking results with the 8k footage. Most of these shots came out sharp with very good colors, but at 8k the stabilization isn't there. So you might have a hard time when walking to get a very stable looking image at 4k, though the stabilization is much, much better, and I managed to get some really amazing. Looking shots during the day at night, the 4k video might suffer from having artifacts because of this stabilization. So in that sense I would say that using a gimbals or stabilizer might help you to get better 8k shots at night, as the crop of those is also a lot better.
As you can see in the 4k video, the crop is really quite big, so I prefer to have a 8k shot and then maybe shoot it on a gimbals. I think that would probably give you some very good results altogether. During the day, I got some really, really amazing shots, and if I take this sequence here, some shots of the bridge and I actually apply some color grading to that. I got some very, very impressive results with that. The ultra-wide angle lens is not as wide as some other phones that we've seen before, but it surely is a lot wider than the regular lens and again during the day, it gave me some very good results.
Although the default aspect, ratio of these photos is a little strange to me at night. This camera is not the best, though, as I did find that it gets a lot more noisy as it's not such a high resolution sensor, and you might want to stick with using the main lens at night. The video with the ultra-wide angle lens only goes up to 4k resolution, so you can't shoot in 8k with it, but it does come out a lot more stabilized per default. Another thing I did notice is that this lens gives a lot more chromatic aberration or green and purple cringing in high contrast elements, which is something I didn't really notice, this bad with the regular lens at night. This camera is not the best, though overall, the camera setup is very good, and I didn't notice any big differences between the Chinese version of this phone and the global version.
So pretty much everything I said in my review of the Chinese version goes for this phone as well, but there's a lot of new camera features that Xiaomi is pushing quite hard with the launch of this phone on global and there's some pretty cool stuff in this camera, but uh. Well, let's, let's talk about it because first we've got this Hitchcock type of zoom. That basically has the camera moving backwards, while the lens is zooming in and the phone actually does that with some AI and post-processing. But this is quite tricky to get done right, as you can see in shots like these, the results come out quite shaky. I also did it with this shot right here, where I definitely got some better results, so it is kind of a fun feature, but I guess it's not perfect, and you probably won't end up using it too often.
Another new feature is this low shutter speed effect when you're following a moving object at night. This will have the object that you're tracking sharpen out and the rest will get this low, shutter speed effect. These come out looking pretty cool, and I found it out the first time when driving next to the scooter, and even though it's not framed perfectly, it did show the effect, and you can see when the speed changes, though it kind of blurs out the objects as well, but it's kind of cool it's there. I did have a lot of these tracking shots on the street, where I was standing still and following moving cars, and again it looks pretty cool, although you probably won't use it that much also new is the night mode camera and well, it was kind of already there, but it was only for photos, and now it's there for video, the difference between the regular camera and the night. Camera is really, really big, as you can see when I walked here twice um, the dark shot is really dark, but the night camera is actually quite bright and even though it is a lot brighter, it's also a lot more fuzzy and a lot more noisy.
So it's really like a day and night difference to me, but the quality does kind of make it unusable, at least for me, then we also have a macro lens mom. I've used it and you guys probably know how I feel about slapping on a simple macro lens on all of these phones. So I'm really not a fan, but well it's there. What's more interesting, though, is the selfie camera, as this one is really rather good. When there's enough daylight, I managed to get some really stunning results.
The photos came out with lots of details and there's some very nice images. Also, video with that lens is really quite good. It's stabilized well, like we've seen with a lot of Xiaomi phones lately, and it works really well during the day at night. It does get a lot of stabilization, artifacts again and there's a lot more noise, but I did get some pretty good results, especially when I use like a streetlight here as a key light. I actually did get some pretty good results even at night, so just a little of light really helps, as this phone has a very good processor.
It also has this dual camera feature which allows you to use the front and back camera at the same time, while recording a video and that's pretty cool. So overall, what I think of the camera on the mi 11 is that it's a perfect camera. That's actually a lot of fun to shoot with I've been going out a lot just to shoot some stuff, and I managed to get some great looking results every single time to me. It's mostly the main 108 megapixel camera. That is interesting, though, and I'm personally just using that regular camera, the regular video and the pro camera, I'm not really that blown away with the additional features, as those are mostly kind of a gimmick that just happened with software, and I just like the results of the main camera, and I personally don't really need that many effects, but I mean, if you do then well it's there.
The audio we've checked out in my full review, and I've tested it with this phone as well, and I did a stereo recording, and it's just as good. It's really a good audio experience and that's something that I really like on this phone: it's not just like hair when I'm playing music, but also when you're playing a game. It's just that immersive experience with good speakers, or at least good for a phone that really helps to sell and really make you feel like more into the game so yeah. Definitely, the audio is something that I am very, very happy with on this phone, so yeah that was more of a deep dive into the camera into the video and into what the differences are between the global version and the Chinese version that I've looked at prior to this. So what do you guys think now that this phone is coming out for global? Is this something that you want to pick up, or are you a little disappointed? Maybe you wanted to grab the 12 gig version, but that's not being released for global.
Let me know down here in the comment section what you guys think and don't forget, to leave a little like below this video to show me that you've liked it and, if you're not subscribed to the channel yet well, then know that you probably should because I'm doing a lot of videos about Xiaomi and the Xiaomi ecosystem right here on the Xiaomi fight channel. As always, thank you guys for watching, and I hope to see you all soon.
