Xiaomi Mi 11 5G: Real Day in the Life Battery Performance Review (2021)

Another sunny day, which means another real day, video and this time we're doing the Xiaomi me 11 battery test. Yes, this is gonna, be a perfect one. In my opinion, I've done these in the past. As you can see my sims inside it's on 99, which is sufficient. I'm just going to break this video down into how long this phone can last at full charge to a low charge of about 25 and how much screen time I get with that and during this test I will go through a lot of things. That will probably benefit you.

If you want to get this phone, and I've done this sort of videos to try and show people who are making purchase decisions out there regarding this sort of smartphones on what sort of battery expectations they have, what sort of things to expect in real day format with this sort of phones. So let's get right into it, and we've got lily here. Obviously she loves her smartphones. Not really she just likes things near her head normally. Is she going to react yeah? She is the Xiaomi me 11.

Let's get right into this! Real dear battery test middle of taking a brilliant shot of lily with these beautiful blue skies behind us- and let's just see how quick that is there- you go, you've got the actual shot there. I think it's come out rather nice. If I show you the full format of it might be a bit unclear here because of the brightness. This screen does get quite bright. To be honest, even then, it's very sunny today, so you can see it's quite, quite bright on the screen.

Now this display is one of my favorite aspects of this phone. As you can see, it's curved on the edges, and it just looks so, so cinematic. So overall, one of my favorite features of this phone is the display this display. Let's talk a bit more about it, it's a 120, hertz, fully fledged displayed OLED, of course, and you can see the angles are very good. You can get an average peak brightness of about 800 nits, which is very, very bright, and you can see the viewing experience in return for that sort of capability is very, very good at most angles.

Obviously, that's contributed by the OLED and by the fact that this is a 120 hertz refresh rate here, we've got the silicone case provided by Xiaomi in the box of this phone. Basically, I'm going to pop this on, and I'm going to show you how easily it can go on the reason why I'm doing this is that we're about to head outside- and I do want to record and take some pictures whilst we're outside on such a lovely day. So basically I'll keep you guys in touch with things that I'm doing on the phone for this sort of videos. I try to do a bit more than usual just to try and use the battery in a high intensive format. So, let's see how long this Xiaomi alum can last throughout the day and how much screen on time I can get with it back to this bait.

There's double tap on board and the fingerprint scanner is fairly accurate, but it does take a bit of time. It's definitely noticeably slower than the s201, for example, and I do think that's a problem, especially when you are using it daily, like I'm experiencing now, when you've got a fingerprint scanner that is not as fast it can be a bit disrupted. As you can see, it's a bit too inaccurate for my liking and for the first update voice might be a bit muffled in this scene. We are still socially distancing because I've got my mask on, and also I just want to go through, what's happening right now as of this test, so it's on about 88, which is just about 11 drops, and we are at 11 44. So it's been um a bit of time, but approaching two hours.

You can see one hour 22 minutes of screen on time so far, but I've got a feeling. This is going to go a lot longer, because the standby time is not too bad at all. But let's see how it goes. These cameras were the big headline with the mi 11. I just want to show you something so, let's go into the camera app, and basically we're going into 10x to show you what the capability is like for zoom range.

So this is not optical by the way, because there's only a 5 megapixel macro telephoto, which means when you press to take this photo. Firstly, it's going to be unstable, and I suspect that has come out rather grainy, which it has now, I'm going to show you something else to basically show what this 5 megapixel telephoto is really or should be used for standard 1x, and then you can go into 2x, which is still optical, but the actual picture quality in terms of zoom range won't be so different. So you can see here still good quality, but the actual zoom range is not great you're, not getting a huge difference from where I'm standing to the actual object that I'm trying to take so go on ultra-wide, which, if you pop that on basically, you should get a nice wide field of view. I would say dynamic range on the phone overall, especially with this 108 megapixel main sensor is really, really good, as I've shown earlier on in the video with the picture of my cat lily. So you can see here.

This is the main sensor, and I'll show you guys the ultra-right now, which is this picture over here. So the colors are good, nice and popping, but I would say the actual dynamic range is better on the main sensor, but that is quite normal. I don't think that the outright is bad. I just think there are better outer rides out there with the video you've got the main, then you've got the ultra-wide, and you've also got the 2x optical. So obviously, in this situation the main one would be the most advisable, but the main headline is the cinematic modes that you can use with the video which I'll be showing soon notice, which I actually like about the me11.

It tells you pretty much what seems like real-time usage of your data, which is very, very useful, so that's perfect. Okay, so next update it's about wait, we're approaching 1250, and we are on 81, but what's interesting is two hours 30 minutes of screen on time I've been using the phone for, as you can see, mostly the screen on time itself and camera voice calls. So I made a few calls by the way. The cool quality I find is good. Reception is normally good.

It has got 5g here on board, so that might help with that. But overall I am liking the haptic feedback, which is a great plus. So when I'm texting I'm finding it quite satisfying when I am texting the vibration motor on this seems to be really, really good. So those are my updates so far. Let me know what you guys think with a comment below okay, so you already know about the quad HD panel here on board.

So it's a very, very good screen and viewing angles are great. I've been through all of that, but what I want to address now are those Harman Kardon branded dual stereo speakers. So let me put up the volume your comparison priced. Quite similarly, both the mi, 11 and iPhone 12 represent, what's strange about this phone is the fact that the juicer speakers they seem on par with professional speakers as far as I can tell, or I've got a feeling, basically, that these are one of the best quality speakers not just because they're branded, but because I think Xiaomi has allowed Harman Kardon to have a real influence on these speakers. The top firing, speaker surprisingly, actually does as well, if not better than the bottom firing one or vice versa.

In fact, they both perform really, really well. You know what I'm trying to say: it's a good set of speakers. Basically, all this time, I've been saying that this is the screen on time. Actually, this is the amount of time I've been using the phone for since it's been charged. This is the actual screen on time, so we're at 75 or 74 now, and it's approaching 2 30, and I've been using the phone for well just over four hours, and in that time it's dropped close to about 25.

Let's just say, and in that time I've had a total screen on time of 1 hour 16 minutes now, looking at that figure that doesn't sound too impressive, or you know too promising. But let's see how it goes. I'm noticing that the actual standby time is not great. So that's definite, but let's see how it goes throughout this test, 7 29 pm, and we are at 66 and basically, in that time I've just been using the phone for the following which I'll go through over here, and you can see total time on nine hours. Ten minutes and total screen on time is just under two hours.

The reason why it's not too dissimilar to what I've shown before is because I've not been using the phone as much, but what I did discover in that time because I was using the TV watching some TV just like the old days eh. I discovered this me remote, which is excellent. It actually allows me to connect to my phone and control it because of the IR blaster on board. So that's what I've discovered in that time and I want to know if you guys know about this IR blaster and what you guys think of this test so far: okay, so overall 14 hours and 55 minutes of active time, which means this is time that the charge has been going on for since its last charge and basically screen on time is about five hours and well five hours and 24 minutes which, at this point with 33 or 32 now, is quite respectable. Of course, my last update was ages ago.

What I tried to do in that time, as you can see, is trying to use the phone a bit more for the things I do a bit more in the evening like listen to podcasts, I'm going on YouTube and stuff like that, as this is a great content consuming device, especially this harman, pardon speakers. Yes, they still haven't changed my mind. They are incredibly good, so five hours and 24 minutes screen on time. Let's see how much further I can push it, but as of now, I'm I'm thinking it's going to be quite a mediocre sort of battery performing phone, which is not a bad thing. Considering we've got 120 hertz and a fuller, quad HD display on board okay.

So this is my last update, it's 2 23 in the morning and literally finally, I've got it to about 26 or 25 percent now, which is about the range I said I would conclude the test on and in that time the phone's been active for about 16 hours and basically, in that time I've been using it mostly for consul media consumption on YouTube and the camera here and there and just general usage of the phone in that time. I've got to know this phone a lot better to be honest, but what I found that is six hours or over six hours of screen on time, which is respectable, considering everything on board but still mediocre, considering how the smartphone market is right. Now, regarding battery, I like this phone for what it is: a great display, a good, solid, build good premium, quality materials and an overall comfortable to hold phone with a mediocre battery, but with a lot on board at a price which is very compelling, and that is basically the summary of the Xiaomi mi 11, and that is my wrap up of this real day. Battery test, I hope you guys enjoyed a thumbs up, would be a real appreciation on my part, because there was a lot of effort put into this video and if you guys liked it, I subscribe to the channel would be even better. So that's it from me guys and that's it from this video I'll see you guys in the next tech moment.
