Verizon mmwave test | TCL 10 5G vs iPhone 12 vs Galaxy Z Fold2 vs iPhone SE

What's up guys, so today I actually went over to visit the millimeter wave tower that Verizon has down in San Jose and boy. It was fast I have to say so. I tested it on a few phones. I tested on the iPhone 12, the Galaxy Z, full two, the TCL 10 5g ultra-wide band and the iPhone EU 2020. Now the SC 2020 is in there mainly because it's around the same price range as the tcl10 5g, and I kind of wanted to get something kind of like as an even middle ground, type of thing. So yeah I will be showing the video results right here.

Pretty shortly and uh yeah enjoy it's honestly shocking to see these speeds in real life yeah, you read that right over 2 000 megabytes per second, that's crazy! That's on the iPhone 12 with the ultrawide band enabled on Verizon- and I assume I was right next to the tower. I couldn't see the tower at all, for whatever reason: uh. There was a few like telephone poles, but they definitely weren't millimeter wave towers. So I have no clue where it was, but I was kind of just searching around the area and trying to find some good service, and I found I got four bars of ultra ride band service and I assume I probably could have gotten better service when I found the tower, which means I probably could have got upwards of 5000 megabytes per second, I have no clue but yeah. This is awesome, though, and then, as you can see, on the TCL phone, unfortunately, it didn't reach as high as the iPhone 12, but this is expected knowing that it's half the price of the iPhone 12 coming in at 3.99, that's honestly still really solid for phone that low price. Now, as far as the SC 2020, this phone is coming in around at 93 megabytes per second for Verizon in the same area.

This is mainly because it will never support 5g. It doesn't have a 5g modem, it's plain and simple LTE, so it's still good, but it's not quite on par with the 5g ultrawide band speeds, as the TCL 105g shows here, and now we got the Galaxy Z, full 2. Now, unfortunately, I wasn't able to record video of the full 2 or the SC 2020, actually going through the test, because, surprisingly, the millimeter wave tower was actually near a homeless camp and there was really no way for me to get across that bridge without going through people's homes, and I really don't want to have to do that considering it's a complete lack of privacy and I would like to respect that as much as possible. So I try to keep my distance and I try to kind of hurry up, so I would respect the privacy as much as possible, but the speeds are shown up here- it's not as high as the iPhone 12. Unfortunately, but it's its still pretty solid.

I mean it's higher than most people's home internet, which is crazy. It's its honestly, amazing that a phone can reach this speed on cellular service, not even hardwired. Now imagine if you plugged an Ethernet cable into that tower. That would be oh. That would be insane anyway.

I just wanted to make a quick video showing off a comparison between a few devices that I actually drove out and try to get a good test on. This is the first time I've ever gotten anything over a thousand megabytes down. So this is a really new experience for me. I'm planning on maybe going down, possibly after the next iPhone launch, maybe even after the s21 launch or s30, whichever it's going to be called and yeah. I hope you guys enjoyed the video, don't forget to like to subscribe and comment.

If you have any questions about millimeter wave I'll, be happy to answer them down below yeah I'll see you guys later.
