Unboxing Alcatel my flip 2 Tracfone turn off Voice assist!

Hey guys it's Timmy here with planktonic, I picked up one of these track: phones, uh, it's the cheapest thing I could find for my dad. He hardly even uses the phone. I got one of these. You know one year, 400 minutes uh. I got him a smartphone before, and it was too difficult. So we're going back to the flip phone, and this was my only option.

So, let's see how the only option for trace is at Walmart um. I don't know the specs on this thing, but it's just a flip phone. It's an Alcatel, I'm not a fan of the brand, even but let's see how it is, and it just falls out of the package nice and easy. I like that. It's got a little protector over the camera lens.

Take that off right now, a little protector on the front screen and press and hold for on and off on the red and let's see little screen protector. It has a little diagram on the screen protector to show you. You know what these buttons correlate with on the screen up here. Um. I don't need that though, and each thing is factory sealed.

That's that's nice and let's see here to remove the sim and micro SD cards. It shows on the thing. I don't really have to worry about that my dad's not going to be taking pictures with it. Just making phone calls once in a blue moon and just take the battery, and just like that, it's so nice, everything's factory, sealed we'll give that to Alcatel like everything's got a nice protector on it, micro USB cord, that's what it comes with: 550 Williams! So only 550! Oh yeah, it's not very much, so you know most devices are running on a couple amps, but we are talking about a flip phone here. All right click, the battery cover on just like.

So I got the sticker to feel just saying how to put the sim card in and take it out. Um there's my information, so I can activate it. I'm not going to go through the activation process because I'm filming with my phone, I use my iPhone 11 to film everything um. I used to use a GoPro and I just prefer my phone. It's easier to do editing, and so this is the Alcatel my flip 2.

And it just goes over everything man. It even has a headset jack yeah. My iPhone don't get that what you could listen to some mp3s, let's see if it has any power boots right up um. I don't know how many people out there buying flip phones these days. But if you are more power to you, um, I'm making this video to give you an idea of the quality of the device and really the screen looks pretty, pretty good.

It's a lot better than the flip phone. I had back when I had a flip phone um been a long time. Um the buttons have a nice feel to them, especially these big buttons. It's like their kind of soft, that's nice, and the buttons are huge. So if you got big hands, this is a good phone for you, I mean that's the largest keypad I've ever had on a phone, so it starts talking to you, and it says to hit the button to turn that off.

I think English United States- okay, oh my gosh, it has Wi-Fi. That's amazing: I don't like how it talks to me. Well, I'm going to skip that well, yeah I'll skip it for remote rock now ride features when your ready head to settings to set up your do's account. Okay, setting level 1 the easiest way to keep the system up to date with the latest version. Is it's not that's not the right time, so you can actually use Google Assistant with this, and it actually has Wi-Fi that's just kind of unbelievable to me really, so we'll just skip that for now.

I know my dad doesn't want to use Google Assistant wow. It even has YouTube and Facebook and stuff that's pretty cool. My dad ain't gonna use, none of that either. All you have to do is put his contacts in my's. Going to want that to turn off, though wow it talks to you a lot so um.

I'm gonna definitely turn that off. Let's see if it's in settings it has a lot of settings. I just want to turn off the talking connectivity. Oh, my gosh, it reads: what's on the screen, if you go back to the home screen too um, I already went into settings to try to figure this out. No, not in sounds oh my gosh.

I'm going to figure this out guys, but it's talking to me the whole way. Oh wow, this is gonna, be the longest video ever just because I can't even figure it out. So I'm just going through all the settings guys, I'm sorry. This is so moved on. Annoying open to author settings, launcher email, launcher, FM radio to longer notes to offer withdrawal for email launcher file manager launched.

Okay, I'm going to have to turn her down yeah. I can't stand it, so I just silenced it for a minute here guys, because this is ridiculous. Um there's gotta be an easy way to do it, but I don't want to drive everybody crazy on this video. I think it's part of the Google Assistant app, and I'm not sure how to oh there we go, so you got to push over when you're on the home menu. There are some icons, and you have to push the little arrow.

That is non-existent next to the okay button. There's that little ring and then click ok on assistant, and then I guess, I'm not using assistant. So that's just the voice. So that's, oh man. So that's not it.

That's not how you turn off that stupid voice assistant, but that is how you can get into those apps on the front of the screen like YouTube, and you just have to hook up to Wi-Fi to use those apps but notices, maybe no notices. It comes with about a half a battery, that's kind of cool um. It's kind of irritating me that I'm having a hard time figuring this out, really uh somewhere in here. Furthermore, it has a deal where you can turn off that voice assistant. So I'm not sure what you would call it, though I'm sorry guys this is, I'm not sure wow okay, so I guess the first thing I would say doing is turning the volume down, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to turn off that voice assistant.

I probably just clicked through it too fast, and I probably a lot of other people do the same thing. Um not sure here wrong press for ok button, it's still doing it. Oh my gosh, so I'm not even using Google Assistant. Yet this is just the stupid voice assistant that um comes with the phone you know, so I have to figure it out. I mean that's going to drive my dad crazy, like all thanks for the phone that won't stop talking, I turn the volume off so that it will stop talking.

You think that would be a utility, but that's just a calculator to to-do list or a setting. This thing has Bluetooth. Also, that's pretty cool, sound other sounds now with preset as google as the search engine. That's fine input methods, maybe no that's not it um. This is definitely not as easy as I thought it was going to be I'm getting closer, though.

Okay, you guys are going to want to know this it's under settings, and then you scroll over to devices or device, and then you go down to accessibility, and you click. Ok and then you go down to read out, and you click on it, and then you turn it off. You have to click on it. Let's see if I fixed it yay, okay, so, so far, my review is really it just sucks that it starts with that whole voice assistant, because that was really annoying and most people are going to click through all of that and then just be like the phone will not stop talking to me. It's been so long since I used a flip phone.

This took me forever to figure out you at this true time. I didn't edit it out um, but yeah, I'm, you know now. I'm really curious. Furthermore, I've been working on this phone for a minute here, so I'm going to go ahead and hook up to Wi-Fi, and then we can really see how like um, I tried to touch the screen. It's been too long.

Okay, so you just need to go back into your settings to hook up your Wi-Fi, if you didn't do that at the start, setting up the device on available networks, and then you just click on the network- that's yours and just type in the password um. It is a flip phone, so you have to do the whole hit each button. So quickly to get to each letter the buttons are really nice um, that's not it! Oh, that sucks. So I don't know what the back arrow is, so that sucks! Oh, it's just it's just the back button is your. I have to retype it all in, though, because I didn't know it's been way too long.

Since I had a flip phone, I can do this. We have it so good these days, thanks to Steve Jobs, wow all right. I finally typed in my Wi-Fi password with the old keypad. Oh, I didn't type it in right. Oh my gosh gotta love, flip phones, so jeez yeah, I'm just so spoiled with having a touch screen device these days.

So if I'm struggling with this, I'm sure there's other people out there struggling so uh. I feel good about this. It's really unfortunate. It's the only option you even have. Ah, I don't know why my password's not working, but I'm about to give up um all right.

One more! Try, sorry guys! This must be the longest video ever and let's try one more time connect up to my Wi-Fi. Oh my gosh. I don't know what I'm doing wrong there. I did just change my network a lot last night. Furthermore, I wanted to show you guys more, but you know at least know how to turn off that voice assistant and how to get to the Wi-Fi settings.

Furthermore, I think I just need to fix my network a little, but I'd say it's pretty good phone. Furthermore, I mean it's nicer than the flip phones I had when I had a flip phone, so pretty lightweight should be easy to use big buttons say it's a great flip phone, especially for only twenty dollars like it's amazing.
