Top 5 BATTERY Cases for the iPhone 8/8 Plus + Alternatives that AREN'T Powerbanks

So you've got an iPhone 8 and you think you need spare power. Well, I've got sad news for you: there's not a lot of options out there. Why? Because most cases manufacturers have either stopped making battery cases or haven't updated their cases for the iPhone 8, which seems silly to me, because the iPhone 7, the aides are generally the same size, but there is a difference, but if I had to make a product recommendation, I'll say for an office setting I would go with the Sophie force whole to set up it, because you get a pic when you bulk up your iPhone. Now on the flip side, if you need to take your iPhone as far as you possibly can from a power outlet go with this little lizard SIX extreme. Technically, you could go on forever without needing to plug in your iPhone technically so the next few minutes, I'm going to tell you my top five battery cases. I want to show you an alternative to battery cases that isn't a portable power bank I'm going to talk about why there seems to be fewer brands of battery cases out there after that, and the last thing I'll talk about are some of the cases that I reviewed for the sixth and seventh that are discontinued.

The companies have gone out of business that will fit the eight that might be worth getting almost like a collector's item will say: I buy most of my products online myself and the Blaze on case that I purchased through Amazon Prime, apparently is taking three weeks to show up. So whatever that case comes, I'll definitely add it to the list, if it's good enough, so do check out that website. Real usage, real reviews, mobile reviews, a CA and mobile reviews, a CA Monte. This wonderful Sch noodle and I base all our reviews on actual usage. Now we could definitely just rehash an old video and just lack an iPhone, 8, + or title, and it probably would work out, but well we're reviewers.

We have to do or due diligence. Don't we don't we? Yes, we do, for example, the Sophie Juice Pack air is an iPhone 7 plus that actually doesn't fit the iPhone 8 plus well at all, it's very hard to remove, but that's not the case for the Sophie classic charge from the Apple Store, if it's both of the iPhones well, so the products look identical, but the fit of one is actually different, and I only know this because well I have both doing my due diligence as a reviewer. Also, the Sophie classic charge is actually the only battery case you can get for the iPhone 8 at the Apple Store and, if you're planning on getting it, don't it's not worth it I library in a bit of number five goes to the run Z case, so the runs a case was actually one of the very few Amazon cases that seemed to be slightly different from your average, run-of-the-mill battery case. It has a massive battery, and can also act as a power supply for other devices. It also turns your swells iPhone, eight into a giant rubber brick.

Now this rubber brick comes with an impressive 5800 William hour battery, which will charge your iPhone 8 from dead at least two times over, if not three, but this charging only occurs a 1 amp, which is the equivalent of a normal iPhone charger. So it's going to be slow, actually, there's only one product on this list, that's fast. The handling of the iPhone 8 is decent. Despite the size, as the case has a soft rubber coating and, unlike other cases like the multi classic charged, the runs II case has a Lightning port. So you don't need to worry about using a different cable with the Rene case.

Standard feature for me on the Renzo case is actually the USB, a port that allows you to charge. Other devices now I see this feature being a little more useful for a younger iPhone users, who are still at school as it can provide a quick charge to a friend and need the runs. E case also has a kickstand which isn't terribly stable, but it will suffice if you need to do some Netflix binging on your iPhone number.4 goes to the Sophie force. Hold now I know. I know you might be thinking.

Why is the first case? You mentioned this video number 4? In short, it just doesn't have as many features as the top 3, but as I said earlier, this is the best setup for people who work in an office setting who want extra power without the bulk. The force hold has magnets on the back of the case, so the power bank will attach the back without any hassle. I like this setup, a little better than the Letterbox. You know, universe said it, because this is just a little easier to set up. The magnets on the case.

Do not interfere with the wireless QI charging feature of the iPhone 8, which is nice I've, come across other cases which will interfere with the chair wireless charging. So if you need more and for all the details, do check out my video on QI charging. The standout feature for this setup is the fact that the power station mini for the force hold provides fast charging at 2.1 amps. So, with this force, hold setup you're getting less bulk and faster. Turning it's just a perfect combination from a charge, that's more for you force hold, would provide about 15% of my battery charge in about 10 minutes, whereas another products only provided 8 to 9 I will say that the force hold isn't actually a compatible case on movies' website, but I've got one here.

It fits quite well I, don't see any reason why I would worry about the case, not fitting an iPhone 8 unless yeah I'm pretty sure the corners will be fine. The only kicker is that you need to buy both the case and the battery pack separately and Sophie really likes to hose you in terms of cost. It costs $40 for the case and $60 for dollars for the pneumatic battery pack. The one upside with the battery pack is that you can use it with any sort of device, as it comes with. Multiple heads going with a multi force hold is going to be $100 setup when compared to the runs II, which is only 55 dollars.

But with that being said, if you catch Sophie on a good day, you might be able to get the case for free. If you're planning on giving move your money, spinning it on the morph you force hold and not the classic charge. Why? Because well, the classic charge will also cost you $100. Why do I recommend going with the force charge because mo if it was a little lazy in terms of designing the classic charge? It has the same dimensions as the Sophie Juice Pack air, but it has a smaller battery, and it doesn't have any wireless charging capability, which is fine, but if you're taking stuff out make the package smaller. So lazy number three goes to the Apple smart battery case now: full disclosure, the smart battery case, isn't officially supported for the iPhone 8, but it fits without any issues.

My guess is that Apple didn't bump up the compatibility, because the spare battery feature actually interferes with the wireless charging of the iPhone 8. Now, in a toss-up in choosing between a spare battery or keeping the wireless charging functionality of the iPhone II I'd go with the spare battery wireless charging is still kind of a fringe benefits, not terribly useful. In my opinion, The Stand will feature for the Apple smart banner cases. How well it integrates with iOS shows up in my battery widget, and it's incredibly to install my iPhone into an end to remove it I like being able to toss the Apple smart battery case into my book bag on days, where I think I might need a bit more power, but don't want to deal with the extra bulk. The Apple smart battery case has the same coating as the Apple silicone case, so the handling of the iPhone is quite decent.

The hump out the back actually improves the handling as well sure it looks odd, but it's actually very Apple issue, as the bulk really doesn't interfere too much with the handling of the iPhone. The other downside to this product is the fact that it's one of the most expensive things I've bought for my iPhone ad 130 dollars. Number two goes to the keener Duke battery case again. This is another case that is made for the iPhone 7, but hasn't officially been updated. The iPhone ain't I will say that my affinity for the Duke has dropped a little wide because the base models of the iPhone eights are twice the size of the iPhone sevens at 64.

Gigabytes San feature for the coupe is the ability to add a micro SD card to the case that expands the storage of your iPhone. This is great for people who ripped movies from DVDs and Blu-rays that they own, and I want to play them on your iPhone easily, without taking up space on your actual iPhone. The only kicker with the setup is that you have to use owners app to interact with the stuff on the micro SD card. Design of the kook is somewhat similar to the Apple smart battery cases. It's fairly easy to remove the iPhone from the case, texture of the case isn't as drippy as the Apple Smart silicone battery case, but it's still better than the Sophie classic Church.

The last thing, I will add to the units I reviewed has been very reliable, but if you look on Amazon, some products may be defective, so do proceed with caution with a fully functional unit. You will be pleasantly surprised at the extra features that the Cook has now before. I talk about the number one case, as well as a battery case alternative, if you're finding this video useful, considering giving a thumbs up and get your stuff through my Amazon links, I'm, not sponsored by any of these case manufacturers. Everything comes out of my own time. A hidden pocket dimes come in with my pocket, but any sort of support that you can give me through the Amazon links is going to be greatly appreciated.

The covenants number one spot goes to the snow, lizard SIX extreme. Now, as a side note, snow lizard has a lot of grit as a company. They were very slow with the iPhone 6s version of the case because of some manufacturing issues, but they're still around, which is pretty cool and I. Think they're going to be around for a long time, because their product is incredibly unique. Now, if you're working in an office setting there's a good chance, you won't need this case.

So to get you to the next part of the video where I talk about an alternative, I've included a small video clip of what Monty's actually doing there in this part of the video. Now, why do I say that office workers shouldn't use this while it's massive and because spending $150 on a case so that you can charge your iPhone use in fluorescent office lights seems like a bad idea. My rating system basically rewards companies that add as many features into a product, that's possible and with the snow, lizard SIX, extreme they've added, so many features into it that it. Why is the extreme bulk that the product heads to your iPhone now? Who should get the SL extreme? Basically, anybody who wants to use their iPhones for days on end without needing to charge it so backpack hikers, you know skiing in secluded areas, people who go on multi-day benders, that sort of target demographic, the SIX packs a solar panel and massive battery- is waterproof and drop proof to six feet. This is the only product that I know of right now that offers all those things.

I know lightproof made the free power for the success, but they haven't updated it for the 7th or the 8th. The solar panel is always going to be charging the battery, even if it doesn't show the LED for charging the case can easily survive a six-foot drop easily and can be use underwater up to six feet as well, but I personally, wouldn't use the SIX extreme for swimming or storm purposes says. The case is just too big for that. The ability is there, but if you're specifically going to a lake to go, you know it's doing stuff at lakes: water boating swimming. If you go to the ocean, you plan on doing snorkeling.

I would get an actual case built for that purpose. Like a hip case pro or a pro shot, rather than using a snow lizard SIX extreme for that for the solar panel snow lizard claims that you can get ten minutes of talk time for every hour in the Sun and based on my test, I can confirm that clean is actually quite close. I left an outside for six days and got about seven five percent batteries, so it doesn't charge quickly, but it's there if you need it. If you need all the details about this case check out the full review video that I've done a couple of months ago now, my biggest gripe with battery cases is the fact that well they're, very large and the iPhone eights themselves have a fast charge capability, as well as a wireless charging capabilities. So there's a good chance that you're not gonna, run out of power every single day with the new iPhone 8, so the benefit of having spare power is kind of diminished.

In that sense, so you know you have to weigh the benefit of having the extra bulk or having the extra power. I personally would go with less bulk. Now, if you're, looking for an alternative to the battery case, that isn't, the standalone power bank consider checking out some backpacks from ghost tech, I've got two of these backpacks, and they're quite heavy. Now the smaller backpack has a built-in battery pack that will charge my iPhone at least twice. Larger backpack actually comes with a solar panel that charges the built-in battery.

So it's very similar ? the snow lizard SIX extreme, in the sense that you don't need to hang around a power outlet. All the time. I do like these battery backpacks, because I don't really need to worry about keeping track of where my spare power is I always have one of these backpacks when I bounce between working from home, I, rent to desk and coffee shop. So it's nice to not have to worry about where my power bank is and yes I've, taken these bags through airports. So yeah, that's an important consideration as well.

Now, over the last few years, I've been reviewing cases for almost five years now for years, and I've noticed that when the iPhone 5s came out, there were tons of different products. Battery cases like Sophie had like three four different battery cases for the iPhone five size devices, but over the years the companies that provide this type of product have kind of gone out of business, like even for the iPhone 6 like thin charge. I used that I really like they don't exist anymore, a sunny solar, which was another solar-powered battery case. They are they're kind of gone, so Sophie is really kind of the only big name. That's just still around, and I have a feeling that they might not be along for much longer if they don't step.

First find a product offer, and they'll, say, and I say that, because with the iPhone 8, you've got better options to charge your iPhone sure QI charging is kind of a fringe benefit, but with fast charging you can get 50% in about thirty minutes, but you have to spend about $75 and happen gear in order to do so. Do watch that video, if you want to know if it's a scam or not I, did I say some pretty funny things there, but there are just so many more ways to charge your iPhone eight that you don't need to carry that spare power around all the time. That's the number one reason why I think battery case manufacturers are going to go into business. The second thing is that I, don't think the average user enjoys having their devices being welcomed so much the iPhone 5s was a fairly small invoice. It was just at all ? for us so being able to add a bit of bulk.

It still fit in your hand fairly well, but adding a battery case to an iPhone 6. This is a Sophie h2 pro that they don't make anymore. It just adds so much bulk, and it just makes your iPhone that much more of a hassle to use, so the size difference is going to be. The number two reason why I think battery room battery case manufacturers are going to grow so out of all the cases that I've used, then the ones that including the ones that are discontinued, the one case that I would consider um you can find it's to get is actually the sunny solar case. It also has a battery solar panel that charges the battery pack, and it's the only one out of my entire box of iPhone cases that still fits the iPhone eight, which is kind of neat and I, really do like this case.

It looks unique the designs pretty neat, and it's completely different compared to any other average battery case like the movie classic church. So again, if you found this video useful, considering getting your battery cases or any sort of as I phone accessories through my Amazon links, this video was not sponsored by anyone in these manufacturers and all the time that I've basically accumulated a hundred hours worth of reviews and just distilled it down into these videos. So help me out by getting your stuff through Amazon I get a small commission that helps me make more videos in the future. Thanks for watching.
