- The App Store is packed full of great free iOS and iPadOS games, but sometimes it can difficult and overwhelming to find decent ones. So, today I am sharing my personal Top 10 Free iPhone and iPad Games of 2019. Starting at number 10, we have Dota Underlords. Currently available in early access on the App Store, Dota Underlords is a cross-platform strategy game. You will recruit and upgrade heroes from the Dota universe and place them into battles against other players. Each hero is unique from their strengths, attacks, powers, abilities, et cetera.

And you need to put the right heroes together on the grid in order to have an advantage in battles. The thing that impresses me about this game by Valve is that it has no ads and no in-app purchases. This might change in the future, but let's hope not. It's great. Dota Underlords can work on iPhones ranging back to the iPhone SE, and iPads back to the iPad Air 2.

Number nine is Frag Pro Shooter. This is a very well-built shooter for mobile devices. It is optimized very well with cartoony but very stylish graphics, the user interface is quite clean, and the controls are not too sensitive. Frag Pro Shooter brings you real-time 1v1 team duels. You control one character in first-person or third-person view, and they will shoot automatically for you.

When you die you switch between a different character of your choice. Some people have complained about slow match making issues, but for me it's almost instant here in Australia, but I thought I'd point that out. Frag Pro Shooter is best played on iPhones back to the iPhone 5S, and iPads back to the iPad Air 2. (guns shooting) Number eight, we have Total Party Kill. In this game you can take control of three different heroes and must solve puzzles to reach the end of each level.

Each hero has a very different ability and their ability must be used to solve puzzles by sacrificing your teammates. For instance, you can throw heroes as the knight, freeze teammates into blocks as the mage, or pin teammates to walls as platforms as the ranger. You just need one hero alive to reach the end of each level. It's a very complex arcade game and has very unique controls. The bad thing, though, is that the game is full of ads, so what you can do is turn off Wi-Fi and you won't be uninterrupted by ads.

Now, if you want to support the devs, don't turn off the Wi-Fi and just accept the ads, but that option is there for you. Totally Party Kill can run on iPhone and iPads which support iOS 8 or later. Number seven is Dawn of Isles. If you're looking for a new MMORPG on mobile, this one is perfect for you. Dawn of Isles takes place in a stunning world, filled with quests to go on, enemies to battle, pets to tame, and other players to meet.

To be honest, the visuals are breathtaking and are somewhat similar to the art style from Zelda Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch, or Monster Hunter Stories. The game is definitely worth taking a look at if you're into this type of genre, but do be warned, you'll be going around talking to characters on a regular basis, it's not always combat and more combat. Anyway, the game can be played in low settings up to ultra settings at 60 frames, or something. This means Dawn of Isles can run on iPhones back to the iPhone 5S and the original iPad Air. (upbeat music) (crashing) (character speaking foreign language) Number six, we have Ink, Mountains, and Mystery.

It's often hard to find free iPhone or iPad games with great stories and adventures, but I found one! Ink, Mountains, and Mystery is an interactive indie game that utilizes multi-layered, hand-painted 3D models and rendering technology that gives the game a very colorful and artistic look. Every moment throughout your playtime could make for a stunning wallpaper. The game's pacing is quite slow, but it is incredibly relaxing and as I said, it offers a very nice story. There is also pretty much no violence here, which is great. Remarkably, the game also has no ads and no in-app purchases, and can run on iPhone and iPads running iOS 8 or later.

(serene music) (character speaking foreign language) Number five is Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs. Angry Birds is now in AR. That is what you're getting here in a nutshell. However, the advantage of AR is that you can walk around the environment, find weak spots, and take the shot. The game uses ARKit 3, the latest AR technology by Apple, so the AR tracking is exceptional as you move around here.

It is just so good. You can get right up close to the structures and see all the small details. I will say the AR technology works best on a flat and wide surface, so do keep that in mind. Because of the new technology, Angry Birds AR is best played on an iPhone 7 or later or an iPad released from 2017 and up. Number four, we have Stick Fight: The Game Mobile.

Stick Fight has been brought to mobile for free, and it's just as fun as the PC version. I've already put about an hour into this game, and the whole time I could not stop laughing. It is hilarious. It's a physics-based online fighting game, where you can battle across 100+ maps featuring crazy environments. When you play, you can run, jump, punch, pick up a sword, fire guns, and avoid dangerous obstacles.

Anyway, Stick Fight requires an iPhone or iPad that is running iOS 9 or later. (upbeat music) (shooting) Number three is the Elder Scrolls: Blades. Bethesda has brought the world of the Elder Scrolls to mobile. You can create a character, go on quests, customize a city, engage in combat, and explore stunning locations. Blades received negative reviews at first because of some pay-to-win mechanics, but since the launch of the game, Bethesda have made progression easier, cost of repairing is cheaper, some enemies are less difficult, and timing of chest unlocking is dramatically shorter.

Plus, some new features have dropped, 60 frames per second, all new NPC voice-over, a new dragon quest, jobs, battles, new jewelry, and much more. Plus, Bethesda are looking towards adding online PvP in the long run. Anyway, Blades is supported on devices back to the iPhone SE or iPad Air 2. Number two, we have Brawl Stars. Okay, this is the only game on this list from 2018, but it was released in December last year and I couldn't leave it out because it's awesome.

So, Brawl Stars has you facing real opponents in this deep action game. Players can battle with friends or play in solo games across a wide range of game modes. You can also unlock and upgrade dozens of brawlers and collect unique skills. The four game modes are Gem Grab, Bounty, Heist, Brawl Ball, and for the battle royal fans, there is the Showdown Mode, which is really fun. Brawl Stars brings playful graphics and animations, and offers a well-polished and immersive experience that is fun and challenging for all types of gamers.

Brawl Stars is supported on devices running iOS 9 or later. (upbeat music) Number one, we have Sky: Children of Light. Sky has finally been officially released. So, in Sky, you can explore an open world and encounter other players along your journey. You will collect light and spread it throughout the kingdom to return fallen stars to their constellations.

I've been playing the invite-only beta for around six months now, and it has to be one of my favorite games on mobile right now. The game is incredible and is a great achievement for the Metal 2 API and for iPhone and iPad hardware. It has stunning graphics, a wonderful music score, and the multiplayer aspect is brilliant, how you can just randomly encounter friends, but you can also add them and go and explore places together, it's really cool. It's also an Apple exclusive for quite a while and then later it will be supported on consoles, and PC, and whatever. Sky can run at ultra-definition at 30 frames, or high definition at 60 frames, but that is all dependent on your iPhone or iPad hardware.

Sky is supported on iPhones back to the iPhone 5S, or iPad Air 2, which is also noteworthy. (majestic music) (upbeat music) Here are some upcoming free iPhone and iPad games: Call of Duty Mobile has been out in beta in a few countries, but it is officially releasing later in 2019. It allows you play across multiple game modes and maps from Call of Duty Black Ops and the original Modern Warfare series. Mario Kart Tour is releasing in Summer 2019, or later in 2019, and is Nintendo's next big iOS title after Super Mario Run. A new Game of Thrones strategy RPG game is coming to iOS and iPadOS on the 23rd of September, 2019.

It features the characters you know and love from the series, plus new characters, too. Forza Street is coming to iOS and iPadOS for free later in 2019, maybe 2020. It looks to offer outstanding graphics and great racing gameplay. Diablo Immortal, an Action-RPG, is coming in later in 2019 or maybe 2020. It's set in the Diablo Universe, obviously, and is exclusive to iPhone, iPad, and Android.

And we have Minecraft Earth, which you may have seen at WWDC. It is an AR version of Minecraft. And that is coming later in the year, but you can sign up right now to be part of the beta testing.
