The ultimate review after 8 weeks - Mi Note 10 Lite

What is up guys today. I have the full review on the note, 10 online. Now I received this about seven weeks ago, and I've already done a full unboxing, hands-on first impression episode if you want to see what's in the box, I'll have the link to that episode in the description. But since I have been using this device to come back with a full review for you guys and quite a few of you really wanted to see how the camera performs on this device. So today we're going to be covering everything from how good is the design. How bright is the display? How long will the battery last the performance and, of course, the camera and here's the thing there's a lot to like about this phone, but there are some cons as well, and that's exactly what we're going to be taking a look at today so be sure to watch this one till the end, and before we jump right in if you're new to the channel just want to.

Let you know that we do cool tech stuff here. So if you haven't already subscribed make sure to hit that subscribe button and click the bell icon, so that you can be notified as soon as new content comes out all right. So I've mentioned this in the last episode as well, and I will say it again: this phone does feel very nice in your hands. Even when it's sitting on the table, it does look like a premium device and here's the thing this phone is made out of solid materials. We have gorilla glass 5.

Both sides with aluminum frame now just add a little of weight to the device, but weirdly this weight, combined with the overall design, is what gives the sense of this being a premium device. Another thing which I like from the design aspect is that you're not getting a huge camera bump on the back. It's very subtle, and you won't get this weird rocking when your phone is resting on the flat surface now carrying this phone around wasn't a problem. It can easily slip into your pocket, but again, if you're used to carrying around phones like the operand 3 pro or even the Samsung Galaxy s10 light. Those devices are a little lighter than this bad boy.

But for me the weight wasn't a problem now, as for the display, this is a beautiful display. I absolutely love it. The reason why I say this is that it's hard to find a display like this in this price range. It's an AMOLED display with these curved edges, uh you're, getting a 1080 by 2340 screen resolution and the brightness goes up to 430 nits. Now it's not the brightest panel out there, but it's an AMOLED display you're, getting deeper blacks, decent contrast.

I have been watching a variety of content on this from Netflix to YouTube, and I actually enjoyed it. One thing which I didn't like when playing videos is how it handles full screen mode, and it only happens when you play a video using the native video app here's what I mean so when I'm playing the standard, 16, 9, HD video and I decide to go full screen. I don't want to see the black bars, what it does it kind of messes up the ratio by stretching the video across the screen edge to edge. What I would expect it to do is something like this, which you see on the YouTube app if you're playing a 16x9 video where you can fill the edges without breaking the aspect ratio now, I know you're losing some content from the top and bottom, but at least you're getting the correct ratio. And if you play the same video from the gallery, you can zoom in as much as you want, so you're filling the whole screen without messing up the ratio, it only messes up the ratio when you try going full screen in the native video app now, if I'm missing something, please let me know in the comments below.

If I'm not, I think this can be fixed with an update. Next, I want to talk about the battery, and it is impressive you're getting a 5 260 William hour battery, which supports 30 watt fast charging, but first things first check out this cool animation. When you plug in the device turbocharged, you can feel the devices getting juiced up. It also tells you that your device is being charged rapidly by displaying this message and also by showing two lightning icons on the top. Now, as for charging the device it took about 60 minutes to charge from 10 to 100 and when it's done charging, it also shows you the remaining standby time until you unplug the device.

Now with the full charge, I was using the phone normally where I was checking my emails. The data connection was pretty much on all the time I did go on to YouTube and Netflix. I even recorded some video clips in 4k, and I also managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of gaming. The phone was good to go for about a day and a half with one charge, and even then I had 10 percent remaining and, like I said before, this is where it recommends going into power saving mode which manages to keep the device going for another four to five hours. Now, on the performance side, this is powered by the snapdragon 730 g, which is optimized for gaming, which means you're getting an overclocked arena 618 GPU.

You also get to see game turbo support, which is basically an enhanced framework which provides system resources for games. So when playing a game, you can access the game, turbo dock, which can provide you stats on frame rate, GPU CPU performance, and it can also let you take screenshots. You can also start screen, recording and toggle through your do not disturb switches or without leaving the game. You can also access your social apps web browser and file manager through a floating window, while you're in the game, which is kind of nice. Now gameplay on this was fairly okay.

It did work with full graphics with games like asphalt, legends and Call of Duty. You can expect a little of lag when you're playing with max setting, but other than that the gameplay was pretty fine. Now, with six or eight gigabytes of ram, coupled with the snapdragon 730 g multitasking on this device wasn't an issue on the software side. You get android 10 out of the box and on top you get to see Xiaomi's very own mini 11. Miui 12 has already started to roll out and is soon expected to hit the minor 10 series, which I'm definitely looking forward to.

But as for the mini 11, I would say it's a neat looking skin. It does support dark mode, which I really like. Overall, you get to see a nice clean, look very smooth, animations, really like this thick bar to control your screen brightness, and they have also added a bunch of always on display presets, which are pretty cool, especially this one called outer space, which shows this cool sunrise and sunset animation throughout the day, which is synced to your location. I think this is a very cool and innovative touch to the oldest on display clock face absolutely love it. Now, let's take a look at the camera setup on this device now notice a lot of people hate Xiaomi for the fact that they have downgraded the camera on the light version.

So if you don't know the note, 10 and the pro version have a 108 megapixel main camera, and it's a nice camera setup. This one has a quad camera module with a 64, megapixel main camera and here's the thing. This is, after all, a light version, so they had to downgrade something. In this case it happened to be the camera department. They could have downgraded on the curved AMOLED display um to maybe a less impressive flat lcd, but come on this one has its own premium.

Look with that being said, the 64 megapixel card camera module does a pretty good job as well. Again. I won't expect anything supernatural from this, but here's what you can expect from 64 megapixel ultra HD photos shot on the minor 10 light. So you do get all these shooting options in the camera app. You also get to see a dual flash setup which you can access by going into photo mode, and this is where you will find a bunch of flash options, including the soft light flash and the normal flash.

The portrait mode does a perfect job as well with the edges, especially when you're shooting in daylight. It manages to do a decent job in separating the background from the foreground from very little to almost no blur bleeding onto the foreground object at night, you can get away with some decent portrait mode shots, but in some cases it might struggle with low light conditions. I'm talking about low light. You do get a night mode which does what it says. Um.

You will have to hold the phone still for a couple of seconds, but here's what you can expect when shooting in night mode, also there's a pro mode which will let you control some features manually. For example, you can control the ISO, which goes all the way up to 6400. You can adjust the shutter speed, which can delay the shutter release all the way up to 30 seconds, which is a great option for people who want to take pictures of the night sky, and then you can control a bunch of other options as well from white balance, to focus mode, etc. , etc. For video, you can shoot in 4k at 30 frames per second no problem.

You can also shoot in 1080p, with a higher frame rate going up to 60 frames per second. But if you want to go crazy with the frame rate, you can also shoot in 720p at 120 and 240 frames per second, but that's not enough for you and you really want to take some ultra slo-mo shots. You can also shoot video clips at 960 frames per second now. You do get to see video stabilization, which only works if you're shooting at 30 frames per second, but I was actually surprised how well it works at the front is a 16 megapixel camera, which again is pretty good with portraits in good lighting conditions. Furthermore, you also get to see HDR support with the front camera.

Furthermore, you can also shoot decent videos in 1080p with the front camera. However, at night you won't get the most impressive video quality, so this was the full review of the note.10, like let me know your thoughts on this device in the comments below.
