I got this yesterday complete surprise like I, I made the request and it just it showed up yesterday, I'm like oh, my gosh, so I was I wanted to do this live stream for you guys last night, but I already had some other plans in the making, so we couldn't really quick. Zach sent you and uh thanks to them for uh, taking care of us here in glorious 1080p, all right, there's some of you here I didn't. I didn't expect a lot of people. This is just completely randomness. I just decided to throw this together. I because I wanted to do this morning, like I said it's almost 11 o'clock here, uh, I'm sorry, it's almost 12 o'clock here.

Furthermore, I wanted to get out this afternoon and check out the camera on this, because last year's camera on the TCL 10 pro was perfect. Furthermore, I really enjoyed it, especially for the price point that it comes at uh. Furthermore, I think that's a big thing. We need to remind ourselves uh, all our all these tech uh people, all these enthusiasts. All of us all these nerds, I think that's one of the things we need to to to remind ourselves of the demographic and the price points and the um the audience, the consumer.

That TCL is going after with this okay um. So it's definitely like a mid-tier device. Mid-Tier value device, what your mid-tier value make your value material right, it's that that's where it's supposed to be. So it's not competing with. You know all the big boys, but it's you know it's still going to give you a great experience.

I had a really great if you guys saw in the pictures. I took up moraine lake last year. Uh, you know the TCL has a good camera and a wonderful display, uh awesome battery. I mean I'm expecting the same things, but first before we jump into the live, unboxing uh. First, let you guys know.

I don't have a camera too tonight, but we do have a camera three hello, camera. Three. Then we got that camera four camerae two is not operating though camera two is not operating uh, because camera two is normally my iPhone and my iPhone's not here right now, that's upstairs somewhere anyway, let's see who we have in the chat, and then we'll get into things. Let me turn this down a little. I think it's a little loud.

We won't talk about that all right. Oh yeah, all right people, so tcl20 pro now I've got some. I got some quick specs up here and things like that we can. We can look at to compare from last year's uh, but overall um, you know the specs have been upgraded overall, there are some things are the same as uh. The screen, um resolution is the same still 1080p screen uh, it's still a 4 500 William battery 4500 4500 William 4500mah battery is still really great um, but I'm interested to see.

I mean I already know what it looks like. I think we've all seen this, but I haven't opened this, yet now I don't have an overhead rig. Furthermore, I just have uh just have the additional cameras over here uh. Oh, am I holding upside down yeah right there, and also I got you guys over here, so uh I'll do my best to uh to show you guys what's going on here, so we're just going to take off the uh we're just going to your know. Maybe I should do this angle here yeah, so we're just going to take off top here.

Oh, I should also point out so on the back here. It says: you're you're, going to get the phone you're going to get the travel charger, which I think that means the power brick USB uh data cable. So it's USB c charging. Obviously sim you get the sim injector pin thing uh and a couple guides safety guide, quick, start guide! It's pretty! I mean it's an android, it's pretty straightforward! It's pretty easy setup! So we'll slide that off right here, okay, so we got the phone right there, so I'm just going to put this down here and, let's again, let's just see what else we have in the box here this music's a little it's a little loud here we go all right. So there's just like this little tray thing that the phone sits on and then there's this additional little pack right here now last year in here they actually included a clear case like uh just a protective case and doesn't look like there's any case this year.

The ejection tools on the back here um, but there are no cases here. They didn't give us a clear case this year, that kind of oh well uh. We got the cable for charging and oh look at this, something that other manufacturers don't give you anymore. Look at that charging brick took this. Ladies and gentlemen, they give you a charging brick.

Thank you, TCL for including a charging brick, a charging adapter um yada. Thank you for including this uh. We know we all know how I feel about that charging adapter, okay, um! So thank you for including that appreciate it. Where are you guys over here? All right? Uh? Let's put you guys over here, hello, where, where, where are we guys? Oh wrong, camera? Sorry, so that's it pretty basic uh, no, no clear case or like last year. They gave us a clear case.

Last year, but not this year, all right! So let's put this all back together, and I'm going to slip the phone out of here, oh wow. Let me just uh, put this box back together all right, and here she is look at that there. It is right there now the color of this. You guys see this. They call this moon dust, gray, moon dust gray.

Let me just put you guys over here moon dust gray, so you got kind of this uh glossy strip here, and then it's like a matte finish here on the like. I guess three quarters of it. The camera module does not stick out. You guys can see here. It is completely you guys can see that there it's completely flat uh, but there are four cameras on there we'll go through the specs here in a bit yeah the beard's.

Getting there even yeah man, it's getting there, someone called my beard the other day biblical. I don't mind anyway, there's the back of it. It is uh does have curved uh edges uh. We have a power up power down any uh, uh, sorry, power up volume, up volume down and then the power button here, and then you got a custom key on the side here, just like they did last year, which is perfect. You can uh.

You can probably bind that to like launch certain apps or uh. Furthermore, you know the camera depending on, but it is curved edges uh. There is a headphone jack IR blaster. So if you have well other TC, electronics and whatnot, you can, you know change channels and whatnot um, I'm sure it could use for other devices, so an IR blaster on the bottom here, speaker, grill, USB type c, and then you got your sim port and that's it uh, let's power it on real quick here. Let me just pull down the power and there she is TCL uh.

Obviously I still need to set this up. I need to log in with my all my stuff there and whatnot so uh, and that way I can start taking pictures, so I'll, probably post some pictures later on today and tomorrow on Instagram and Twitter. So if you're, not following my Instagram and Twitter, please make sure you guys do. Links are down below and uh yeah, so this has uh android 11 running on it, along with uh with their old proprietary software. On top of there we're going to take a look, so it says hello uh, you guys are gonna, see some waving in there, that's just because of the frame rate uh.

But again it's just a's a good-looking screen and let's go ahead and turn this off. There's no point: we're not going to go through the setup process, but there we go um. Really! Nice, though again very I mean this does not feel like a value device. In my opinion, nothing is sticking out. The only thing that's kind of sticking out kind of weird with which is the flash here.

It's its it's raised just ever so slightly, but the rest of this module here with the four cameras is completely flat. Um see if you guys can see over here, you guys can get a better look at the color. You call this moon dust. What they call this again moon dust gray. Well, let's see we'll take a look here: moon desk grade.

This is a six gigabyte, 256 gigabytes, storage, nice there's lots of uh lots of room in there. Take lots of pictures moon dust gray. I like I, like the matte finish. I really like how they did that not too I'm not too crazy about this glossy thing down the edge, but it does. It does give it kind of unique look, although I imagine most people will probably be looking for a case for this, or something like that.

So I will definitely reach out to uh. You know the manufacturers that I know to see if anybody has any case options that I can show you guys, but there you guys go. That's the TCL 20 pro 5 g, so I told you guys we're going to take a quick look at the specs here. I'm going to go ahead and share this screen with you guys, so you guys can see some uh comparisons and differences with the specs uh this year compared to last year. So, on the right side of the screen here, you're going to see the TCL 10 pro from last year, and this year's on the left here is a TCL 20 pro.

So the blue one here this is the 20 pro. Then we've got the 10 pro and I think it just makes sense to kind of compare them. So I'm just uh. This is GSM arena, as you guys know um, so I'm going to go ahead and click on the differences here. So anything highlighted in dark black uh in black is gonna, be different.

Anything light gray is the same yeah ace. I really like how there's no camera bump either really nice that they were able to do that um. So this, this year's phone is also a little bigger, 164 uh millimeters compared to last year. That's 158! The thickness is roughly, let's take a look here at the thickness uh. It's actually thinner this year.

Last year's a little thicker uh. This used device is 990 grams last year 177. So it's a little different uh. We got glass front glass back they put in here. Aluminum frame, I'm pretty sure it's probably the same thing on here.

As for the size 6.67 inches last year is 6.47. So just a little bigger screen to body ratio is roughly the same in 89 1080p screen, like I told you guys, last year's was also 1080. Okay, again, like I said here at android, 11. Uh, last year's has actually already been operated up to android 11 as well, so you're good to go there um and then, of course, they put their uh next vision 2 on there, that's the new version of that which basically enhances, if you've ever have you ever seen like a TCL screen like their TVs, whatever uh. You know that they're putting the same carrot everything in into the phones- and I love the screen on the on the 10 series.

Last year, the 10 pro and the l um, let's see here under the hood power in this baby. Of course, it's going to be in mid-range. It's a snapdragon 750 there, okay, arena 619 um, I found last year's snappy and fine. I didn't find it slow down at all um, but I'll definitely have to put it through its paces uh. The storage has obviously been bumped up this last year.

Last year, with the the basic uh baseline was 128 the share 256. , and then here comes some differences of the camera. I was kind of surprised at this, so last year's camera. The main shooter was 64 megapixels this year they bumped it down to 48, and I think that's probably a cost saving measure right there. We do have uh optical image stabilization last year.

We did not, so that's an improvement. In my opinion, I would rather have optical image stabilization uh and take kind of a hit on the megapixels, especially if you're using this device to, like you, know, post to social media and whatnot, which I think most people are just keeping in touch they're, not doing anything crazy. So you know 48, big pixels is going to be perfectly fine. I think for most people, um looks like most of the video features are pretty much the same from last year, but I will definitely go through this. The selfie camera has been bumped up last year, 24 megapixels this year, 32 megapixels HDR.

On there we got 4k, 30, um 30 fps on the selfie camera, interesting I'll. Just try that out three and a half millimeter uh headphone jack, loudspeakers. Yes, everything is basically the same uh. This year's device has fast wireless charging at 15, watt and, of course, fast charging at 18 watts, which is your know the brick. They give you, so it's nice last year they did not have wireless charging this year.

They do have wireless charging. So that's a nice improvement right. Normally, you don't see wireless charging in a mid-range device. It's not it's not common. I should say right: it really depends on the manufacturer or not it's not it's not as common.

So that's good to see so there you guys go if you really want to see the breakdown of the differences. What not? I will leave this link for the comparison? I will leave it in the description. Furthermore, I will update the description of the video after the stream, so we can go through that yourself. If you want to, but there you guys go, that's the tcl20 pro 5g. I am looking forward to uh getting my info in here.

I will post some pictures later on today to both Twitter and Instagram, most likely just Twitter, because Twitter took out the cropping. You guys see that with pictures whatnot, there's no more cropping, so that's great! So you get the full size, pictures and whatnot, obviously I'll be posting from the phone, so they might be reduced down in quality. Twitter compression is a thing. It's its still a thing. Although they took out the cropping um but yeah, that's a nice looking device, I mean: take a little.

Take a look moon dust, gray I'll, take some pictures of the device under normal lighting, but that looks good again curved, I'm not too crazy about the curved edges, especially after using a phone for a while here, uh my s21 plus with flat, but it's okay, I mean curved edges, still makes for a nice handling. Experience um. When I compare this to my s21, oh yeah, my s21, my 21 s, 21 plus, definitely feels heavier just be. I don't know I'll have to take a look at the actual specs, but anyway, what do you guys think any thoughts on this? Now it does come in additional colors. There's an additional color like a like an ocean blue type.

Color here you guys saw in the uh the comparison page there so Dennis's looks nice. Absolutely he's making a very good point. It's learn over the years, not about the pixels on the camera. It's the software for the most part, absolutely Alan likes that it's mostly matte uh refresh rate. Furthermore, it's most likely going to be 60 because of the price point it comes in at even so uh, it's most likely a s6.

I mean they never pointed out the refresh rate during the um announcement of the device. What not and I've looked at all the specs and everything I don't see anything on here about uh, the refresh so uh yeah. Normally there would be something listed in here, so I'm pretty sure it's just 60, which is fine again. You need to look at um because I know we're also used to looking at the flagship devices and whatnot when it comes to mid-range devices. Like this, you know, there's going to be exceptions made so that you can get to a certain price point, so you can meet a certain demographic, certain customer type, uh customer audience right.

So I'm, okay with that, although I do feel spoiled by 120 hertz right now on my um, my galaxy, but I'm looking forward to you know, testing this out and putting up against the 10 pro from last year. From what I remember, I don't even have my 10 pro anymore. I gave my 10 pro to a family member, and they still love it so uh yeah. Thank you, sir appreciate that yeah hit that, like button uh it is it does stuff. I think it does stuff.

I will be chopping up this unboxing into a regular video, I'll, probably upload that sometime tomorrow or maybe even tonight. So if you guys get a chance to watch that two or three minutes kind of a kind of breakdown, uh, quick cut down kind of this live stream I'll be really losing that later on. But I wanted to do this. Quick live stream for you guys so that I could get out with this. I didn't want to unbox it in um.

Not let you guys see what's going on there, but it's nice that the again TCL is including everything in there. So again, we'll go back inside the box here. Um no case that kind of uh kind of sucks. I didn't do that this year, but again, uh USB a to c, cable and, of course, the charging brick they give you a charging brick. Thank you TCL for including a charging brick, unlike those other companies, those other guys, you know who you are alright people, I get it man I get it.
