TCL 10 5G UW - 5G On A Budget! By Trent’s Tech

What's going on everybody, Mr Tehran, here, and today I got a package, and it's from TCL, and we're going to go ahead and open it. So guess what cue the intro but yeah pretty much inside here we got the 5g version of the TCL 10. This is the TCL 10 5g UW, I'm assuming that the UW means ultra-wide band, and this is going to be on Verizon, I'm not sure if it's going to come out on any other carriers. All I know is that it's going to come out on Verizon, and it's going to be 309. Yes, 399 for a 5g phone, but before we even talk about the specs, let's go ahead and open up the box, so you know I was going to do like a whole top-down shot, but I don't have a c-stand, so this is going to be a little weird. So what we have inside the wonderful creator package here, I can go ahead and pull this off, so we got our top.

That comes off right here. We got our wonderful documentation for us reviewers. The uh display greatness. If my camera focused there, it is display greatness. Also, what we got in here, if you guys, can see that now, it's kind of hard for me to read that, but I'll put that a little closer, so you guys can read it.

Excuse me, but yeah, basically, what it says here: the power of 5g for everyone. So what I'm assuming TCL wants to do is they want to take 5g, and they want to make it cheaper and more affordable for people to have. I know a lot of 5g phones that came out this year were a little more expensive, but yeah. This one is supposed to be cheaper. It's even cheaper than the uh Pixel 4a 5g, but we're definitely going to have to test this out later to see how well it does.

But if we go ahead and take our lid off here, we have uh some more items inside, so we got inside that wonderful package, the TCL 5g UW. Now what is this? What does the box contain? It contains the TCL 10 5g UW smartphone pre-installed 5g sim card, which is on Verizon. As I've been told um we got our sim ejector tool fast charge wall, USB power adapter. So at least in this box you're still getting power adapters. You know shout out to apple for uh, taking those things out right.

We got the USB type c cable, and we got a quick reference guide. So I don't even think I have to take off any plastic. I think I can just go ahead and unbox this. So, lets and here it is there we go there, we go. Ah, there we go so yeah inside we got our phone and this is supposed to be a 6.5 inch display. I think it's 6.5.4, but 6.5 inch display so go ahead and take this out, we got our phone here, we're going to do this backwards, we're going to take all the other stuff out. We got a little, you know cardboard inside here we got another big old sheet of paper type of thing.

So if we open this up, what do we get? So we got our sim ejector tool. We got quick reference guide. You know to tell us about the phone uh. We have two more compartments inside here, and we're going to flick this open. So inside you got your power brick, and you got your let's see this is an USB to USA, lightning, cable, so um.

You know that actually is kind of a cool thing and that's pretty much it for the box. Here we got the TCL phone wrapped in its wonderful plastic, and we're going to show off the back of the display by just sliding the plastic off. Oh yeah, look at that look at those colors. You know. Let's see, we can shine this in the light a little more so yeah we got a nice kind of rainbow reflective thing going on here.

I think this back is the uh. It's kind of like the glass stick type material, and you know we got our cameras on the back but yeah. This is it. This is the phone as you guys can see like this is how big it is compared to my hand or whatnot. So it's pretty good decent sized phone kind of flip it around, but uh yeah 5g, um processor is supposed to be a 765 snapdragon.

Also, with this phone you're getting six gigs of ram, so honestly, 399 dollars doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. But yeah, like I said, we're gonna, have to see how the cameras look. We're going to have to test this out and see what it does. It also is supposed to have a 4500 William hour battery, okay, so even with all that right, you're still getting a headphone jack, so on paper right now, this is a perfect contender up against the Pixel 4a. The Pixel 4a comes in with a 5.8-inch screen. This has a 6.5-inch screen. This has a headphone jack Pixel 4a has a headphone jack.

The Pixel 4a has one camera. This has multiple cameras, but we'll definitely have to see how the pictures look, because we all know how much of a beast the Pixel 4a is, and you know you're getting your USB. You got your speakers, but that's pretty much everything. That's in the box, I've seen so far, um there's another there's another uh compartment in here. So we got some more stuff.

So uh see. Look at that. TCL was so thoughtful. Let me see if I can open this TCL was so thoughtful right. They didn't send out a mask.

A straight up. TCL mask look at this right, right. This is awesome. Look other companies. I need you to do this.

Pl, please put the mask inside with your cell phones. I mean. I know this is a reviewer's kit, but yo. This is dope man straight up um. We also have a TCL flag, um cleaning cloth, maybe well, it doesn't kind of feel it kind of feels like what you would use to wipe down a phone, but still pretty nice.

Also. We have a spec case that they included. I don't know if this comes with the phone or not. This is just the reviewer's kit, but we're going to go ahead and take this out just like so pop it out, but one of my graphs from the TCL 10 pro was that um. In my opinion, they weren't really putting in any good cases.

They were kind of cheap, but this case from spec you know case from spec are perfect, and they're perfect to go. But I'm trying to find this phone now, so I can put it in here, so you guys can see how it looks, and I'm sorry if this isn't a polished review or anything like that. I'm straight up doing this. You know on the fly, so I'm recording this as I'm doing all this so yeah. This is pretty much how it looks with everything on there, and it's dope.

That is dope. That looks really nice and, like I said once again supposed to be on Verizon 5g phone 399 and yeah. They gave me a good amount of stuff here. I am definitely going to wear this to work tomorrow. People are going to ask: you know hey what is this? What is this TCL stuff, but hey social distancing? You know keeping this all on.

You know trying to keep it stylish or whatnot so yeah I like it, I'm totally down for it. This is good to go. This is one of the better reviewer boxes. I've ever gotten like normally, I just get the phone and I kind of just go from there, but no they sent me like a whole package. So I am cool with that.

So once again, thank you to TCL for sending this out to me. Um, I'm not going to turn it on right now, because I actually want to your know, charge it up and use it overnight, but this is essentially just a first look, an unboxing whatever you want to call it. I am not going to pass any judgment on this phone whatsoever until I've had proper time to use it and review it so yeah, you might have some other people out here who got the package, and they were able to do everything, but basically, with the time constraints that I had, this is just a first look. So let me know what you guys think down in the comment section below. Would you guys pick this up for 399? Does TCL now have their own lane against the pixel and some of these other phones that are out there, especially now that they're offering 5g inside a phone and similar specs to these other phones, but yeah? That's pretty much it.
