Should you buy this? Vivo V21 review! By Nasi Lemak Tech

Take a look at the brand new mid-range smartphone from Vito. It is now available in Malaysia and this VIVO v21 here is the phone that I've been using for the past two weeks or so, let's take a look at it six points and see how this phone actually performs now, firstly, in terms of design, the VIVO v21 is definitely a very shiny phone, but it is covered in a matte finish and not going to lie. This phone is definitely going to catch, a lot of attention with its shiny reflective back here, and it also has this pastel color kind of gradient going on. So, if it's your cup of tea, then this phone is definitely very flashy. However, the overall shape and size is not really that far away from the VIVO x60 pro or the VIVO x50 pro that we've reviewed previously check it out the top right corner there and the VIVO v21 here is actually quite boxy to the point where I don't feel that comfortable holding it like this, because it's kind of boxy and it kind of digs into my skin around the edges here but VIVO did include a case inside the box here, but that will definitely add bulk and the VIVO v21 here is definitely not small either because it comes with a 6.55 inch, AMOLED screen with 1080p in resolution and also 90hz refresh rate. It definitely looks bright, it's vivid enough and the colors are great.

I definitely don't have any complaints about the display here, and it also comes with a film screen protector pre-applied out of the box, which is good and the cameras of the VIVO v21, though I would say it's pretty okay. It comes with a total of three different cameras here, and it manages to take some good-looking shots with decent dynamic range, but when it comes to scene detection, it's not that good, because it doesn't increase the contrast of the sky, making it look a little dull, sometimes, but when it does detect the sky properly, it looks good and also taking the same pictures using the ultra-wide angle. Camera thought I would say it's not really that consistent, because it's just like the main camera in this shot right here, it's bright and beautiful, with great clarity and dynamic range, but the sky just needs a little more contrast and then comes to this shot. For some reason, it looks very flat and in this shot right here, the buildings just look underexposed for my liking, but the sky looks great. As for the macro shots, though, I wouldn't say it looks good, so I'll just leave it at that by the way, I should also highlight that the camera UI for the VIVO v21 is not really that intuitive, because if you want to switch between the three cameras, it's just kind of annoying and for the video side of things, though the VIVO v21's main camera does have is, and it can shoot up to 1080p at 60fps.

Its stabilization is good, but it seems to have a little of as mixed in which marked the sharpness of the video quality overall. As for the selfie camera, that is also something worth highlighting it's a bit overexposed for my liking, but it does a good job overall and for selfie video. This is something weird: we are only able to capture 30 fps on either 4k or 1080p resolution, and the video's audio seems to be a bit imbalanced, because my audio my voice seems to be biased towards the left side of the speaker. Instead, hello, everyone. This is a quick video test of the VIVO v21.

As far as I know, this phone is only able to record 1080p or 4k at 30fps and no matter what resolution you're using. So this is what we get and do let us know down in the comment section below if this video actually sounds good or not, and also if it looks good or not so yeah. The mixed bag of resolution and frame rate for its video capabilities is mostly due to the MediaTek density 800u chipset. Yes, this phone here is powered by a MediaTek chipset and in terms of performance. Obviously it's going to handle day-to-day usage without any issues at all, but when it comes to gaming, which we did test for a while runs pretty okay, I would say at the lowest possible graphical settings.

Ken shin impact is playable, albeit a little stutter and by the way the VIVO v21 also comes with a total of 8 gigs of ram. But if that's not enough for you, then fret not because the VIVO v21 did allocate a total of 3 gigs of its internal storage as ram disk. So you get virtually 11 gigs total of ram, but it doesn't really work that way. Well we'll talk more about ram this in the future. Perhaps now for the battery side of things, the VIVO v21 comes with a four thousand billion power battery, which is relatively small for a phone of this size and at 90 hertz refresh rate, though we got about 12 hours in our test, which I would say it's pretty good, and it can last you throughout the day, with quite a bit more to spare, actually, as for the charging time, VIVO included a 33 watt charger inside the box, and it can get from 15 to 100 in about an hour's time, which I think it's pretty standard nowadays.

Now for the software side of things. While I have praised the Vito, x60 pro's fun touch OS for being clean. The same cannot be saved for the VIVO v21 here, because there are quite a lot of pre-installed, apps and bloatware built into the firmware itself: hot games, hot apps. No, I don't want any of them, and also both the pre-installed browser and the app store are very intrusive, and they sent me ads through notifications, and yet those two apps cannot be removed, so you pretty much have to live with it, I guess and finally, for the price. The VIVO v21 is priced at 1599 ringgits and I would say it's a pretty okay phone overall, if you want a mid-range smartphone that looks pretty good, takes good pictures and has a decent battery life out of it.

The VIVO v21 should be on your list, but then again, I do recommend you to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy a52 4g 2. For an even lower price. You get better software in terms of user experience, features and also promised updates and best of all the galaxy a52 doesn't have any sort of intrusive ads. But with that said, the VIVO v21 is still an okay phone. I would say so.
