Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey. So today, I'm here to take a special holiday, look at the Samsung Galaxy tab, f6 and the Samsung Galaxy tab. F7 plus these right here are the two flagship tablet models for 2019 and 2020. So last year we had the tab s6, and this year we have the tab s7. Plus there is a tab f7, it has an LCD screen, and it's a little smaller than the tab, s7 plus, but these are the two we're going to talk about today now before we get into all this, so I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here if you enjoyed the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and the little notification bell if you want updates when new videos come out now, let's talk about these tablets so at first glance, you'll notice.
There are some differences uh one of the largest ones being well. Let's talk about it size. The tab, f7 plus, is 12.4 inches, whereas the tab is six is 10.5, so there's essentially a two-inch size difference in the screens on these guys, but they both have really fantastic. AMOLED displays. One key characteristic, though, is the 120 hertz, refresh rate available on the tab, s7 plus.
So if you like gaming, if you like, having a huge screen, if you like having that nice, you know less motion blur whenever you're playing video games and watching movies, and just like that smooth scrolling experience, then you should probably go with the tab. F7 plus it is really nice, but at a fundamental level, there's not a lot of day-to-day difference between either one of them. If you're just browsing the internet, if you're just watching your live streams or binging Netflix or playing some games, largely you're not going to notice a lot of difference and that's because both of them are very capable, they're, very powerful, and they're good at doing what they do. They both have DEX mode, which is their desktop experience, and it's really nice, because if you get the folio cover the proprietary Samsung one, it allows you to prop the tablet up into laptop mode, and it has let you know it adjusts and things like that, and then you can connect the keyboard. It will put it in the DEX mode, which is their fancy name for putting it in desktop mode.
It's neat, I mean you can use the trackpad just like you would on a normal computer, and it has some desktop or laptop functionality, but it's not quite a 100 desktop replacement, but some people really care about it. Furthermore, it is nice, it is nifty, it's great. If you're on the go, if you want to just carry one thing, you can use it open up. Microsoft. Word: draft documents do stuff like that, so there is a place for it, but I don't think it's a 100 substitute for an actual computer.
But what we have here, snapdragon six gigabytes of ram, 128, gigabytes of storage. It has the s pen stylus, which I almost dropped there. It connects on the back magnetically in the most annoying spot ever in the history of mankind. Both of them are like that, so that's pretty much how it works. There's a 13 megapixel camera and a 5 megapixel in the back, an 8 megapixel, front-facing selfie.
It does not do 4k video, neither one of them do, which is a little on the disappointing side. They do 10 uh 1080p at 30 frames per second, which is yeah, but again these are not really designed for video taking or pictures its something incidental that you can do if you want to be that person in the crowd going like this trying to take pictures, but it'll, do it fundamental differences here. So this one like, I said it has a smaller display on it, but I actually like that because I can hold the tablet with one hand like this: it's really nice, it's very lightweight. It is significantly lighter than the tab, s7 plus much easier to use with one hand, especially when it comes to doing traditional tablet. Tasks like I don't know, typing playing handheld video games and stuff.
Whenever you're trying to hold this one, it is a really, really large tablet. I made a whole video about it. Some people, like it lots of people, don't that's fine. I don't really care. I made my opinion about the tablet and saying look it's great for a professional device.
You can do your document drafting you can do your graphic design. You can do your typing, you can do your video editing. Furthermore, you can do so many things with it, but trying to hold it and use it as a traditional tablet is not the easiest, because it is really, really big. So if you want to be able to hold on to your tablet and use it for a lot of traditional tablets, things, then the tab f6 might be right up your alley. It's still perfectly capable and handy plenty of power under the hood.
It's got the exact same processor in it. As last year's note, 10, plus solid phone, so you've got that. Then you've also got the four speakers on it. Two on the top two on the bottom. That is exactly the same for both tablets.
So if you're hearing some of these things- and if you hear me say exactly the same- that's because there are a lot of resemblances. When you look at the tab, s7 plus and the tab s6, they both have six gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of storage um. They basically have the same cameras, the 13 and the five on the back, the eight on the front, so you're not missing out a lot of things. If you decide that you don't want to spend a ton of money to get the tab, f7 plus, but right now, during Black Friday and the holiday season, you can get some of these things fairly cheap. So I've seen the tab.
S6 is going for under 400, which is, I think, a perfect price for this tablet, especially since they include the stylus, unlike apple and their iPad. You have to pay extra for the Apple Pencil, but if you want to get a tab, s7 plus right now through Samsung, and if you have a tab s6, and you want to upgrade- you can get a tab s7 for 149 or a tab, s7 plus for 349. Sorry, let me correct myself there, but still I've seen a lot of good deals, and I was just on if you here follow this website. If you don't, it's called slick deals. net, I find so many good deals on there.
I actually just ordered a tab s7, which is on the way right now they had it listed on Microsoft, store for 349 dollars. Can you imagine a tab s7 for 349 dollars? No trade-ins, no gimmicks, that's a perfect deal and the tab. S7 is very much like this. Everything is exactly the same, except it has an 11-inch screen in its LCD instead of ammo led it doesn't have the under screen fingerprint sensor. So there are some differences between those, but really what I'm here to talk about today is these two? Do you need to keep up with the Benjamin and have to go out and buy this year's, so you can have a perfect tablet? That gives you a lot of functionality? No, you don't and a lot of things I talk about on.
My channel is from an economic perspective where, like hey, let's find what you need as opposed to, let's go out and just say: hey yeah go ahead and buy the biggest one of course. Yes, this is nice, it is the biggest it is the best, but at the end of the day, most of what you do on is going to be exactly the same as this, and you may actually prefer this one, because this one is huge. This one is actually, I think, a perfect handheld size for a tablet. There are drawbacks, though, if you want to do productivity stuff, I actually kind of recommend the tab. Seven plus this one is much better for just tablet things and if you're just doing tablet things on here, this is going to last you for years, and you're not going to have any problems with it.
It is a fantastic tablet. Super light nice. I like it a lot if you want to do more productivity stuff. This is probably where you want to go just because it has the larger screen real estate, which is really nice. If you're doing document drafting, if you're doing signing a lot of stuff using the s pen, if you are doing graphic design things like that anything kind of productivity or office or business related, the tab, s6 can do it.
But this right here is basically like having a laptop or a Surface Pro that doesn't have a keyboard attached to it and then a lot of these deals actually do you can get the keyboard that goes along with it ta-da pop it right on their Bob's your uncle, and then you actually have pretty much kind of a laptop in the palm of your hands, but again the tab. S6. Does that as well does exactly the same stuff, but you can do it cheaper, and you don't have as large of a tablet, and you don't have as much of a financial investment that goes along with it. So both of them work really well. Both of them have a lot of power, they have a lot of performance, and you can do a lot of good things with them.
I just wanted to go ahead and make this video to let you know. Look if you're looking to pick one up, maybe look around the prices, see what's available and find out which one is the best for you again follow the slick deals. net website go on there. I check it like 80 times a day which leads to me buying a lot of stuff. So don't blame me for your new habit if you spend a lot of time looking there, but it's a perfect place to go.
Looking for Black Friday deals looking for holiday, specials, and normally we have Cyber Monday, but with everything going on in the world, I can imagine we'll probably have more extended sales than just Cyber Monday. That's pretty much! If they're perfect tablets. I like both of them. They both kind of do the same thing, but if you want to have a larger screen, if you want to have a bigger real estate footprint, if you want to play a lot of video games using your Xbox controller like if you do Xbox game pass and things like that, this one right here is probably going to be the best one for you just because it has so much screen real estate. That goes along with it.
Of course, it has a bigger battery to go with it, but it does have the 120 hertz display, which the tab s6. Doesn't most people won't notice or care about that difference. So if you can get a tab, s6 cheaper, maybe that might be the way that you want to go so again. Both of them are solid options. It all boils down to do.
You want the larger screen, because it doesn't really make a difference in day-to-day performance. The tab, s7 plus, will be supported an extra year longer because it is newer if you want to get a tablet in the android world. The Samsung ones are absolutely the best, and they also come with their stylus, which is really nice too. So that's all I've got. Hopefully this has been helpful.
Hopefully this has helped kind of give you some information that you need in case you were looking to pick one of these up during the holiday or the shopping season, because there's so much stuff out there right now, and you don't maybe people don't know what to buy or which one is best for them or where they should spend their money. So I just wanted to take a few minutes. Put this together and be like okay. These are some differences tab, s6 perfectly good, probably going to be cheaper. The tab, f7 and f7 plus, though, have perfect trade-in options with Samsung.
If you have an older tablet, and you want to upgrade- or if you find some other deals and like I said check out the slick deals. net, I'm not being compensated for this. This is not sponsored by them, I'm just letting you know where I go to try and find all of my deals. So that's all I've got. Hopefully this has been helpful.
Hopefully this has given you the information you need and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them down in the comment section I'll get back with you.
