Samsung Galaxy Xcover Review

Hey guys this is liquid phone arena, and you're watching our video review of the Samsung Galaxy Cover. What makes the smartphone special is that it is ip67 certified, which means that it is resistant to shock dust and water damage in terms of specs. It comes with a single core, 800 megahertz processor, a three point: six five inch display 3.2 megapixel camera and a 7.2 megabit per second 3d Radio. First, we have to say that the Galaxy Cover looks tough and feels solid in the hand its size is great for single-handed usage, and it's textured back cover provides a bit of extra grip, we're also very happy with the physical bottles on the Galaxy Cover. All of them are of the physical kind well exposed and provide a lot of tactile feedback. Taking the back cover off is possible after untwisting this special lock, which keeps the black cover firmly attached in place.

On top, we see a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, which is protected by this plastic insulating cover, just like the microUSB port on the bottom. Unfortunately, the microUSB port is recessed, so deep that putting a generic microUSB cable inside may be impossible, which may be pretty inconvenient if you don't have the stock one nearby. Sadly, the display on the Samsung Galaxy Cover is quite ugly to look at. It has a resolution of 320 by 480 pixels, which is quite low, considering its size, so graphics tend to look pixelated its colors look under saturated and its viewing angles are quite narrow. On top of all that, its outdoor visibility is average at best, the Samsung Galaxy Cover runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, with the Touch ID user interface installed. On top of it, his site takes a single core Marvell mg2 processor, clocked at 800 megahertz, which is a quite on the low end, so forget about using any of those fancy live wallpapers.

This is what the on-screen keyboard looks like. Thankfully, it is comfortable to use in both skip and portrait modes, so you can comfortably type at relatively high speeds in terms of software. You get all the necessities, such as our file manager and a document. Viewer Samsung has also included its social and music hubs, as well as software for using the DLNA feature surfing the web. Using the Galaxy Cover stock browser is pretty comfortable, they just render in a timely manner and both scrolling and pinch-to-zoom work is expected.

Unfortunately, a slight lag becomes apparent when viewing heavy web pages, and the experience is a bit incomplete due to the lack of Adobe Flash, the 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera on the Galaxy Cover is backed up by an LED flash which can double as a flashlight without the need to install any third-party software. We took some sample shots and the photos turned out good enough for casual needs. I still find details were missing and some photos tend to look over exposed. The earpiece of the Samsung Galaxy Cover sounds slightly muffled, but it produces really loud, distinct voices without the hint of distortion, even at the maximum volume level. At the same time, the microphone performs even better and picks up voices that sound, clear and distinct on the other side of the line.

According to the manufacturer, the start 1,500 million power battery can provide roughly six and a half hours of talk time on 3G or about 660 hours in standby, and while the talk time figure is nothing out of the ordinary does 10 buys. Time is slightly about the average for a modern smartphone. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Cover is a combination between a rugged phone and an entry-level Android smartphone and combines bits of both worlds. However, we would definitely recommend a few alternatives which are both slightly cheaper than the X cover, even though they have better specs. The first one would be the Motorola defy+, which has a faster processor and a better display, and the other one is the Sony Ericsson Xperia active, which has a better camera display capable of working even when wet yet costs below the $300 mark.
