Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Overview & Available Accessories By Get Ruggedized

Hi this is Paul, and this is my first video for the channel mobile workforce. Now today we're going to talk about the cover pro, it's a rugged device from Samsung, and this is the latest version of cover line of devices from Samsung. What makes this unique right? Okay, let's just quickly, go through this product, page from Samsung, so well, okay, so first thing the device is actually made. It has actually completed the mil-spec standards, which is the mil standard 810, and it can also withstand a drop of 1.5 meters, and it is also an ip68 weighted device. So it can be used in dust and water environments, so mainly it's a rugged device. So it's it can be used in multiple environments, whether you're on the field, whether you're in oil and gas or utilities, and so on and so forth, uh.

It also has a decent uh re battery, which is a 4000?m battery replaceable. This is quite unique. Most of the Samsung devices do not come with a replaceable battery. They are actually concealed in the back, so you cannot remove the most hot swap them, while you're working in the field. Second is this is also having you can actually use it with gloves on, so there are only a few devices that can actually support this feature uh, and this is one of them, and it is a rugged device, so it makes sense to actually have it without to use the device with your gloves on now in terms of screen it's its.

The screen is very, very similar to the latest galaxy lighter devices, which is an edge to edge screen with the camera hole on the top left so and let's just quickly go through the specs of the device. Okay, so looking at the specs, the device is a 6.3 inch display size, it has a 64, gig or storage and a 4gb ram, and it has an as I've mentioned before 4000 amp battery now in terms of display resolution, it's a 1080 screen, so you can see it's 2340 by 1080, and it is uh FHD. It's a TFT display and also in terms of the camera. It has two cameras in the back and one on the front. The front is pumped up to a 30 megapixel camera and the back has two one: is a 25 megapixel camera and an 18 megapixel ultra-wide camera.

You can actually expand the storage, it has a SD slot uh, and it also is a dual sim device, which means you can actually put two sim cards and also have an additional slot for expanding the memory up to 512 gigabytes now. This is all good in terms of specs and everything, but where do we use this right? What is the use flow, and what is your workflow? This is. This is one of the main reasons why uh Samsung has actually launched. This device is basically to replace all your old rugged Windows devices or handle devices that is out there in the market which companies are still using uh for uh field work and with the android ecosystem, you can pretty much uh, actually work on any kind of software or any kind of compatibility with latest or software or enterprise systems in the world, and it also has some unique features. So if you look at the cover pro, let's just quickly open up the device, okay, so one of the main unique do I let me just quickly go through yeah, so it has a capability for push-to-talk.

So these are the main three features of uh, one of the main three features of x4 pro. It has a push-to-talk button on the side, and so it can be used as a walkie-talkie. It's pretty unique, and it also has a poker pin charger, which means it's enterprise ready. You can actually charge a batch of these devices on a Pogo charging cradle, and you can charge them at multiple devices at the same time, and it is also m-pass ready which so x-curve pro is a level one certified EMP level, one certified device. So technically, you can actually use it to accept payments uh without any additional hardware uh.

How does it work uh? We will get into that in a later detail. Okay, so now so this is. This is pretty much it in terms of a device perspective. Now, where can we use it? What are the accessories for it? That's what we're going to dive into so the first company that I want to talk about is gamma Johnson, the gamma, Johnson and Samsung have a very good relationship. They make a lot of accessories for a lot of their rugged line of devices.

So we're going to just talk about the uh cover pro accessories. That gamma juncture is offering, so one of the main accessories that they offer is the charging cradle. As you can see, so I'm just going to quickly open it yeah. So this is the charging cradle as you can see, and how does it being used? Let's see okay, so this is the mounting point. So this is also.

They also offer mounting points that can be used within the vehicle it can be mounted on a vehicle or a forklift, for example. So there's a lot of options. Yeah, this one is a forklift just quickly go through it yeah. So what does gamma Johnson do they? They actually make all these accessories uh with charging pins and charging ports and all this kind of things. So I would suggest uh take a look at camper Johnson.

The links will be in the description by the way, so I will put the links to all these products and accessories in the description if you're interested in it. Okay now, the next company that I want to talk about is otterbox is, as you know, it's its one of the largest companies that make a lot of accessories covers the main into covers, and for the cover pro they have two uh and just quickly opened it okay, so the first one is the quite a slim. It's a slim form factor the cover pro UDS series of case, as you can see, pretty, pretty sleek and the device is rugged. But, however, in case, if you're interested in adding a cover to it, autobox has you covered. So you have two types of covers.

One is a little thicker uh more rugged cover. It has a stand at the back as well in case you want to mount it somewhere, uh or hold it somewhere now. Okay, so this is this. Is the accessory, useful, Waterloo uh? The next company that I want to actually go through? Is company called com tech? Now, com tech has been making sleeves or sleeve based accessories for a lot of devices. They have their own scanners, mainly they work on mops or scanning and barcode and RFID based uh accessories, and for the cover pro they've taken a different approach.

What they've done is they kind of made a sled and with this sled you can actually add it onto your cover pro device, and it actually becomes a kind of full-fledged device, uh very, very similar to the likes of like a Honeywell or a zebra or a tech device. So it gives much, much more capabilities or much, much more accessory capabilities like image or like a 1d scan or a 2d scanner, and it can actually use, for example, RFID scanning as well. So let's just go through the brochure okay, so this is the product from quantum tech. It's called the AKX pro smart sled for the galaxy x cover pro now. What's what's pretty unique about this right, so one it is, it's actually compatible with an, can actually add it as a grip to the device or a sled to the device, and you can actually add multiple accessories, so you can use it like a pistol grip, which is what typical barcode scanners are used in work like warehouses and stuff like that.

So this is one of the pretty unique uh accessories for the Xcode pro okay, so just to summarize uh the companies that make accessories for the Samsung Galaxy cover pro you have gamma Johnson, which makes mounts cradles power, connectors and charging docks for the Xcode pro. You have order box that makes uh slim and protective cases for the x-car pro as well, and you have climate, which has a wide range of sleeves and accessories, and scanners and m-pos-capable devices that they make for the Xcode pro okay.
