Samsung Galaxy Tab S7: Keyboard Cover Review

In addition to the aspen, you can also use the Samsung Galaxy tab s7 with an official keyboard cover. The cue bottle looks very promising because it has a kickstand and a touchpad built in. However, with a price tag of under 200 dollars, it is very expensive, I'm NJ from mynextable. com and in this review you will learn whether it's worth it to spend that much on a keyboard. Before we start don't forget to subscribe to this channel, I've got lots more videos about the Galaxy Tab, s7 and the s7 plus coming up. I think the keyboard cover for the Galaxy Tab.

S7 is well-made. It features a cover with an integrated kickstand that you attach magnetically to the back of the tablet. The keyboard part with the touchpad is separate and connected magnetically as well. So, if you want, you can use the back cover with the kickstand without the keyboard when watching movies, for instance, the integrated kickstand is quite strong, and you can open it very wide. It's also useful if you want to ride or draw with the s-pen and want to use the tablet.

At a slight angle, the hinge of the kickstand is made of metal. Besides that hinge, the cover is made of plastic completely, it doesn't feel cheap and in fact it does feel well-made it's not as premium feeling as the canter keyboards from Microsoft, though together the keyboard and the cover weigh almost 400 grams, which is quite a lot, but for that we get a keyboard and a kickstand which is nice, and it's still lighter than the apple magic keyboard, which weighs around 600 grams. If you connect the back cover and the keyboard and close it, the back of the tablet and the screen are protected. The frame is always free, though there's a cutout for the cameras and behind the little pocket the s pen can be protected and charged at the same time, let's check out the keyboard, even though it's smaller than your standard desktop class keyboard. It's quite a big for a tablet.

Since the Galaxy Tab, s7 has an 11-inch screen, it can be bigger than keyboards made for 10-inch tablets. That's obvious! We get separate arrow keys and function. Keys are built into the numbers row. I was able to type with the keyboard blindly very fast, it's quite comfortable. The keys offer a real travel and a space far enough from each other.

With that being said, I often work with tablet keyboards, so it could take you a couple of hours to get used to the smaller space. But if you worked with the 11 Apple iPad Pro or with the keyboard for the Microsoft Surface go 2 before, then you will feel right at home. The keyboard for the Galaxy Tab, s7 plus offers more space. Of course, it's a bit disappointing that you can't use the keyboard at an angle that is possible with Microsoft's tablets, for instance. Here the keyboard always lies flat on a table.

A background light would be nice to have too, but it's missing. Samsung is supporting a couple of keyboard shortcuts with those you can quickly open, Gmail, the browser, the calendar and so on, and you can use it to open notifications, start Samsung DEX or go back to the home screen. Sadly, you can't configure them yourself using shortcuts. You can also switch the language of the keyboard and software. I often do that because I'm writing in English and German here you can choose between three different shortcuts, and you can deactivate them too.

In apps common shortcuts are supported too at least sometimes in chrome. For instance, you can open a new tab with control plus t that works great, just as it usually does on a desktop PC. However, when opening a new tab, you've got to click into the URL text field before you can start to type an URL or to start a Google search, even when using the Samsung DEX desktop mode in a desktop operating system, you usually can start to type immediately. Well, it's not a huge issue, of course, but it shows that Samsung DEX, even together with the keyboard, is not perfect yet and doesn't always work like a desktop operating system. But I do like that you can configure the Galaxy Tab s7 so that it starts Samsung decks automatically.

Once you connect the keyboard, Samsung DEX has improved a lot. I will get more into it. In my final review below the keyboard, we get a touchpad, that's made of plastic too it's much smaller than the ones of standard laptops, but it works very precisely. I mostly use the touchpad when working in Microsoft Word when I have to switch between rows and so on, and sometimes inside the browser, often I'm also using the touchscreen or the stylus when navigating through apps. Actually, it's really useful to have three methods with this tablet, you can use the touchscreen with your finger, the s pen and the touchpad, and you can seamlessly transition between the three.

The touchpad does support multi-touch gestures, not just for scrolling, but also to get to the home screen, pull down the notification bar or switch between opened apps. This kind of gestures work in the normal mode, but also in Samsung decks. So is it worth it to spend around 200 on the keyboard cover for the Galaxy Tab, s7? Well, it depends on how much you would use it. Of course, unlike with the Galaxy Tab s6, I didn't encounter any huge weak points this time. Instead, I like the keyboard a lot.

I, like the design with its integrated kickstand, which is super useful, and I was able to type with the keyboard, as well as with the apple magic keyboard, which costs even more like with that one. I think Samsung is giving us a good compromise of comfort and mobility. The keyboard is worth it if you work a lot, while traveling in caf?s, for instance, on a train or plane, it's great for that, but if you're working at home only, I would always choose a proper desktop class keyboard instead because those are way more comfortable and if you just want to answer some emails while traveling, occasionally it might not be worth it for you to spend around 200 for occasional use. I think the Logitech keys to go is a solid alternative. All right, that's been my review of the keyboard cover for the Samsung Galaxy tab.

S7. If you have any questions, write them down below, I will have my final review of the Galaxy Tab.7 and lots of comparisons coming up soon, so subscribe to the channel, I'm Andrea from minexceller. com. Thanks for watching and see you next time, you.
