Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Hands On: 6 Things Before Buying!

What's going on everyone, it's Jack Lanier from nothing. My attack welcome back to another video. Today's video is an exciting one, because not only am I really excited about the product, but I'm excited about what this means for the rest of the year. This product and the fact that there's a product launch means that we're just getting into the most insane season of the year, with a million product launches. Last October I think I posted like 16 videos, and we're just diving right back into that. So I get to see a lot of people I get to make a lot of content and I get to show you guys a lot of new products, so I'm really excited about that.

I'm also really excited about the tab. S6 in this video I'm gonna share with you guys, six things that you should know before. Buying it, but I'm excited that tablets are kind of getting better and there's kind of more of a purpose for them. Now they want they're kind of an awkward stage where we were like what are you trying to be or you're trying to be a tablet? A computer kind of stuck at both, but now we're transitioning, where I feel like they're, getting a little better at being a tablet, but also being a computer and the tab. S6 is definitely one of those products that has me excited so in this video I want to dive into six things that you should know if you're considering buying one.

The first thing that you should know is that the design at the tab, s6 is awesome, so it feels really premium in the hand. It's even thinner this year, and it just feels like a device that you could kind of throw into your bag and go with going on that design. It has a keyboard cover this year that also acts as a kickstand, and the keyboard cover has been a bit improved. So it now has a trackpad sampling found that a lot of people were using Wireless mice with their tab s4. So with the tab s6 on the keyboard cover, there's actually a trackpad, which I think is really nice and it kind of represents this bigger theme of Samsung.

Looking at what consumers liked in past years and then looking at what they didn't like so much and creating a perfect device all throughout their like keynote on this device and kept mentioning, we've noticed that consumers like this, and we notice that they didn't like this, and then they actually made improvements based upon the feedback that they got, so I think that's really cool and one of the ways that seen is in the fact that has a trackpad and then awesome the fact that there is function keys now in the keyboard, so within those function, keys, there's also a hotkey to get directly to DEC. Samsung DX is such a cool feature, and now it's built right into the keyboard cover to quickly get to it. The keys also feel pretty nice to type on. They have a decent amount of travel and while the trackpad isn't huge, it's definitely doable. The keyboard cover also functions as a kickstand which is kind cool and then the S Pen, which is included in the box.

That's nope. It goes magnetically right on the back of the tab. S6 the tab. S6 reminds me a little of the iPad Pro in like the boxier design and the magnets on the back for the s-pen, but I think that the s-pen integration into the tab, f6, is actually really smart, because there's a bit of an indent, and it just magnetically goes right on the ESPN also feels pretty good and I. Think a lot of people are going to use s-pen with their tab.

S6, it's a big enough screen that you can take notes and kind of sketch I'm, not the best artist, but it felt pretty comfortable in my hand and I love that it's like color matched to the actual device. The second thing we know is that there's a dual camera system on the tab. A6 now you might be thinking to yourself why? Why would Samsung put cameras on your? We already hate when people take photos on their tablets? Ok, but at this point it's kind of inevitable. So the fact that the camera quality is good now is a good thing, because if you're going to block the entire crowd, while taking a photo on your tablet, the photo better be good. It cannot look like it was taken on a phone from ten years ago, and the cameras on you were very impressive.

The dynamic range was good, the colors were good, and the other awesome thing is that, since is a dual camera system, there's a wide-angle lens, it's a 123 degree lens, which kind of replicates what the human eye is, so you're. Getting that same exact perspective, what do you take a photo honestly I was pretty impressed with the cameras. I was testing it in an indoor environment, but there was some light streaming in through the window and the photos look pretty good. They look. Pretty sharp Samsung normally has pretty good cameras, and this is just another example of it.

So if you're, one of those people that takes photos on your tablet, you'll be happy to hear this number three is: there's an Instagram finger, boot sensor, so love it or hate it. That's kind of the direction that a lot of companies are going in order to get rid of a lot of the bezel. So this is a device it has very thin bezels and because of that, people still wanted a biotech way to get in. So there's an in screen fingerprint sensor I actually did not get to test it at the event. But I know that on the s10, the fingerprint sensor is pretty solid, so hopefully it's a similar technology that is able to produce a pretty good experience as well we're running through these, but number four is specs.

So what kind of thing can you expect you get on here? Well, you're getting the latest and greatest Snapdragon chip, so you're getting the Snapdragon 855, which means that performance is going to kind of fly on here with multitasking and stuff like that you're getting on the base, six gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage and then on the upgraded model, you're getting eight gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage, there's also a mode called game booster and gaming on here was actually pretty good, and I seem pretty smooth. The graphics were perfect, and on that amazing, ten and a half inch Super AMOLED display it looks pretty I. Think it's a really great display and that's one of the most important things I think when you're looking at a tablet, because one of the reasons that you're buying it instead of just using your smartphone, is the fact that it has a really solid display, and this definitely do I always love. Samsung displays. This is no exception and then just touching on the specs and stuff, like that, the six gigabyte, RAM model and 128 gigabytes of storage should be pretty good for the average person.

But if you're looking at this, it's like a computer replacement, it may be worth getting the upgraded model for the little extra money that it costs, which is gonna, be our fifth point. Price and me. Think that you should do that, just because storage. It makes sense in the long run, so in terms of pricing. The base model of six gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage cost six hundred and forty-nine dollars, and then the upgraded model is 729.

So that seems like pretty reasonable pricing. This is definitely Samsung's more premium tablet. The Samsung line is kind of shaping up to three different categories. The first category is like the Tab A and that's like your everyday entertainment device. Then you have the Tab s5e and that's you a little upgraded, more intelligent and portable device, and then you have like the flagship of the line, which is a tab s6 and that's your device.

That's like PC powerful, but with tablet mobility, so I feel like the pricing is very in line with being the flagship of the Samsung tablet line. Alright last thing that we want to discuss in number 6. How does this thing handle as a media consumption device in the limited time I got with it. It seems like it's pretty solid you're, getting Toby Atmos technology for the sound. So not only does it look good, but it also sounds good and that's paired with the AKG speakers.

They sounded really great, and then you're getting a slight improvement in battery life. On the previous model. It was 14 hours and on this new model, they're claiming 15 I can't say if that's true or not, because I haven't obviously tested it for 15 hours. But if that ends up being the battery life, that would be a pretty solid battery life that it is packing and then the last thing is that they worked with discord to include some cool features. So the gaming expert down here should be pretty solid.

Some final thoughts, the s-pen comes in the box, that's awesome, but the keyboard cover does not, and it's a hundred and seventy-nine dollars. That does feel a bit high to me. If it was a hundred I feel like it'd, be a lot more realistic, and I feel like it really should be a lower price, especially because in order to use this device as like a computer replacement, you kind of need that keyboard so to have an additional cost of one hundred and seventy-nine dollars. It just feels a little high to me. I don't know it does come with a lot of features like the kickstand and the trackpad and the hotkey for DEX, but it feels a little higher than I would have liked them to price it at regardless.

So if you do want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab s6, you could start pre-ordering it on August 23rd, and it will be available in stores on September 6, starting at six hundred and forty-nine dollars. That's it for this video though I hope it was helpful. I hope, you're excited for event, season. I know I am be sure to subscribe, because I'll have a lot of coverage coming, including unpacked next week. Furthermore, I'm excited for that.

But thank you guys so much for watching this video and I catch you guys in the next one bye.
