Hi guys this is tablinus. com, and I'm here with a review of the Samsung Galaxy tab, a7 lite and in spite of having a 7 in its name, it's actually a bigger tablet which comes with an 8.7-inch screen. It's easy to use with a single hand, but you can also use it in landscape mode. If you're watching a video, this device is affordable, it comes with a budget setup and entry level, specs it's priced at around 200 or even below 200 in some countries, and it comes in 4g and Wi-Fi versions. Now we have the 4g version here, and it's time for the review we're dealing with a budget slate, as I mentioned before, it's affordable, and it's meant obviously for your school and education needs as well as some work from home. Now, of course, we're going to discuss the design first and foremost, the tablet has an elongated format.

As you can see, it seems more oriented towards portrait usage, but landscape is also fine on account of the fact you get enough room on these sides to put your fingers on now. Other things were mentioning. We have a metal body here which is very well-built. It's a sturdy device. We have plastic caps at the top and bottom to allow connectivity, and we have comfy buttons here: power and volume.

The device is quite drippy. It's easily used with a single hand, if you're going to be doing some e-reading or browsing or whatever, but when it comes the time to watch a video, you can definitely use it like this with zero problems. So comfy well-built measures, eight millimeters in thickness and weighs a decent 371 grams, and I would say it's just fine. Now, when it comes to the screen, we're dealing here with a TFT panel 8.7 inch a resolution of 1340 over 800 pixels, the bezel size. I would call it okay and when it comes to the test, we have here YouTube test clip to show you okay.

So that's what a video looks like on this panel here, the symmetry is pretty fine. The colors look nice indoors, but at the moment you tilt the tablet. The image goes quite a bit gray, and you're losing some vivacity of the colors. So definitely underwhelming view angles. The brightness is okay, just indoors any trace of sun outside, and you will not see any more content on it on account of the contrast being rather weak.

So we're left with an indoor experience with, I would say, decent looking colors the pixels have a RGB stripes arrangement and when it comes to the brightness test we achieved here in our test.244 lux units- uh, it's a pretty low result. I'll admit it. Usually we require on our other tests. We also test phones. We really require 400 lux to make the device really viable.

Anyway, you get. The idea could have been more impressive, impressive. Actually, it's about half the result achieved eight years ago with the nexus 7, but if you're indoors it's fine, and we're actually close to the value of the Galaxy Tab, a7 10.4, which is only six lux above this model here. A7 10.4 2020 is just six lux above, so we're not doing that bad. Compared to the predecessor, I would say we're pretty close value-wise. Now we're done with the screen and let's talk about the inert of the tablet. You might as well call it a phone because it's also a phone not just a slate. Now I'm going to make use of the app called Ida, and this one will show you the CPU we have available here.

It's a MediaTek, uh hello p22t OCTA core 12 nanometers, it's similar to p22. We saw on the lgk40 phone and the Xperia l3 it's accompanied by either three or four gigs of ram. We have the version with three and 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage. Furthermore, we have the version with 32 plus micros. Now I would be lying if I would say that we don't have lag here, there's obviously some lag here and there, particularly if you have open quite a few apps and if you're, also updating them in the background there will definitely be some lag here and there and the in the first 10 minutes after booting up the device.

It's basically inevitable. However, you can do regular average day tasks like your Facebook YouTube, some learning, some e-reading, of course, maybe some Netflix Spotify and even some modest games like some racers or platformers, but nothing fancy uh doesn't quite handle PUBG too. Well now the benchmarks- I won't insist on them too much, because this is not a benchmarkable device. I mean you can check out the test for sure, but the device will always be at the bottom of the hierarchy. Well, except for this one here, apparently in AI benchmark, it did quite fine in an tutu it's at the bottom, seven and eight base mark OS quite low comparable with older devices.

Geek bench five, as you can see at the bottom again, so not a very high performing device, not very future-proof, but at the moment, for this school season, and probably also the next, should be fine enough for your Google Classroom, some little e-learning, apps and maybe some minor platformers and, of course, video watching and the music playing. Now we also did some temperature tests aside from the benchmarks, and let's see what came out of that in benchmarks. We achieved 30.1 degrees Celsius, which means there's no overheating and in games 32.9 degrees Celsius, which once again signals there's no overheating here now, as you can see written here, this Galaxy Tab, a7 light has a 5100 William hour, lithium polymer battery, which is supposed to charge at um, well, uh, 15, watts, but guess what in the box, you only have a 7.8 watt charger, which is a bit of a bummer, and I think it's time we also showed you the values we achieved here. We start with the battery test. It's actually pretty solid.

As far as the video playback is concerned, 13 hours and 36 minutes, it's actually on the third spot. We haven't tested many tablets, but this one is doing decently, surpassed Galaxy Tab, s4, Galaxy Tab, s6 light and Huawei Mate pad pro. It's not in bad company. It's beaten by the Galaxy Tab, s6 and the s5e continuous usage is a bit more modest, a mere 7 hours and 39 minutes. Furthermore, it beats older tablets like the Nokia, n1 and Chuck high 12.

Uh, nothing more relevant around it. Sadly, it stays below something like the Galaxy Tab. A7 10.4 tab, s5e and tab a 9.7 which is a bit of a beast even now. After all these years, with 13 hours of continuous usage charging is a bit long. It requires 2 hours and 43 minutes for a full charge.

After 30 minutes you are just 15 which just doesn't cut it nowadays. Now we go further. We have a set of stereo speakers here, one on this side and one on the other side, plus the audio jack. You can see here. I think, it's time to turn on the music and share some impressions about that.

We also have some special settings, including uh, well, there's the Dolby, Atmos and Dolby Atmos for gaming. So that's nice to know- and I think it's time to play some music, hey, okay, so a bunch of conclusions, not the loudest in the world, but I'm pretty satisfied by the high notes by the voices. Even the bass is fine. I encountered it in were tunes which actually have bass like hip-hop, tunes and dubstep ones. For example, I think it's pleasant if you're really focused on podcasts and the movies, and things like that.

You'll definitely be satisfied now we also have tests which we do with a special tool, a decibel meter- and you can see here that we achieved 81.9 decibels with the bottom speaker if the device is held like this. I'm talking about the butter speaker, 81.9 decibels at the bottom and 77.7 decibels at the top. That's with an acoustic sample, definitely a more impressive bottom speaker so once again, bottom speaker, 81 and top speaker 77.7. So this one is actually more powerful and with this result here we surpassed older tablets like the ASUS phone pad 7 Xiaomi mi pad 2, but we stayed below 30 other tablets, we've tested, which is not flattering in games. Another unflattering result 87.1 decibels. Here we require at least 100 decibels when we're testing phones on our sister side, GSM DOM so a bit underwhelming as far as the volume is concerned, but once again I'm happy with the calibration there's enough bass, high notes and voices to go around now when it comes to the camera.

I never insist too much on it on tablets, and here at the front we have a 2 megapixel shooter, while at the back side we have an 8 megapixel camera without a LED flash and with full HD video which just so you know it's there to be there. Options include portrait, photo video pro mode panorama, food and hyperlapse. Even HDR is here, and we have a bunch of shots which I was actually reluctant to pull off they're taking in the balcony just in time to finish the review- and I would say, if you're, an elderly person getting bored in the house, these are good enough for you to post on Facebook or, if you're, a young child, just getting to know the grips with modern devices. This should be enough for you. It's definitely not a landmark.

As far as tablets are concerned, I've seen five-year-old tablets five years ago, taking better shots, but for a budget slate they're, actually not that bad. The highlights here are probably the colors and also the focus. These are the selfies with the 2 megapixel camera. I mean that's about as good a shot. A 2-megapixel camera can deliver nowadays and well.

That's about it. That's all I can say here about as good as a budget phone from two years ago. That's the core conclusion. We also have a full HD, video or two, but it's not exactly impressive. This is what it looks like just full HD, not many details.

A bit overexposed, definitely shaky and that's that camera wise. Now when it comes to the connectivity this device has it all I'm sure you can see here that next to the Wi-Fi symbol, there is a connectivity symbol. We have the mobile data activated, as you can see here, so we have the 4g version of the device. What you're getting here is also on USB 2.0 port. You can see here the audio jack.

We have a NATO sim card slot available on the same tray with the micro SD, this Wi-Fi dual-band: Bluetooth, 5.0, GPS, glass, bayou and Galileo. You can take calls here, you can make calls, and you can get and send texts. The chords are, I would say, decent in clarity and okay in volume uh. What else? We also did a bunch of measurements when it comes to the connectivity and, as you can see, we achieved 320 mega per second in download on Wi-Fi and 314 mega per second in upload, that's Wi-Fi alone, we're still doing the 4g test, and we'll be back with more details in the text review. Now.

As far as the software is concerned, you probably know already that this is android 11, with a large slice of one UI. On top, it's actually one UI 3.1. It delivers multitasking like this with these windows here and, of course, aside from them, you can also have split screen if you want to, and also a pop-up view with floating apps swipe down, and you're, going to see the quick settings which are quite useful. They include a nearby share icon for shield and a dark mode. Uh plus the notifications should also be here now.

Other things were mentioning your, probably familiar by this point with android 11 and one UI 3.1, so to the left. Most we have the Google News feed and the settings include options like privacy, biometrics and security. I actually have the face recognition activated. There's no fingerprint scanner here. This is the connectivity section, the sound section, notifications, wallpaper privacy.

There are the advanced features, android, auto and side key motions and gestures. I'm pretty sure you can replace these buttons with swipes. We have the digital wellbeing and parental control. As far as the pre-installed apps go, there's galaxy store we're going to download your special apps themes and some games even some exclusives. Then we have the Samsung notes for your note.

Taking needs. There is Netflix if you want to have some fun. Also, Spotify. Here we have the Samsung suite with voice recorder contacts, members flow and messages. Google suite with all the famous names you already know, and Microsoft, including office OneDrive and outlook, always useful to work.

Samsung notes already mentioned my files is your file manager, and then we have the Google Classroom, which is also present here and may be very useful if you want to connect teachers and students together. Of course, you can easily install your zoom, Webex or other apps for remote work and helping you with these remote things and working and classroom. There's this keyboard, which actually presented in the unboxing it's the brand-new trio keyboard. It's called trio because it has this ability to connect to three devices. At the same time, it has a DEX key here, and it has buttons which should usually associate with a mobile device.

So I activated the Bluetooth I'll activate it here as well once again delete this trio keyboard and should be found here. One device connected smart keyboard, 30500, that's the full name. The price is quite low, something like 50 dollars even less, and I just have to press this uh button here and keep it pressed to connect to the device, one device two and device three, and actually, if you look here, I'm tweaking the screen brightness right now by pressing these buttons- and I can also do things like go to the app drawer- activate the recent go home and, of course, if need be. I can also start typing the address of our website. Okay, so I love softer keyboards, so this one is actually tailored to my taste.

I actually dig a lot the laptop keyboards, and this is actually quite comfortable, easy to pack with you in your school bag. Even your purse, I would say so- that's quite nice, and the battery lasts so long actually never charged it, maybe not even once so that's pretty impressive. So all in all this has been the review of the Samsung Galaxy tab, a7 lite, 2021 4g edition uh, I would say a bit of a small workhorse and a tool for your education needs. What at the end of the review, which means we have the pros and cons and let's start with the pros. Now it's a cheap device.

It's got 4g, it's got a decent battery and okay build uh. It's good for your school needs, has pretty solid, acoustics comes with android, 11 micro, SD card slot, and one UI 3.1 and well that's about it, and it's also rather comfy when it comes to holding it in both portrait and landscape. Those are the pros on the cones. It's got poor cameras. Even by this standard uh the screen gets smudged too easily uh.

The screen is pretty poor when it comes to the brightness, especially outdoors. The CPU is modest, not future-proof. There will be some lag here and there, which you probably saw during this review and uh. There is only a 7.8 watt charger in the box, even though the tablet supports double that amount. That's pretty much it.

It's definitely a cheap tablet for 200 or less, but if you pair it with this device, you can end up spending something like 250 230 dollars with a pretty nice pair. If you strictly focus on Facebook, YouTube Google Classroom, maybe some minor platformer games and educational apps for your little kid, that's the core idea. If you want higher performance, maybe get a pricier tablet, but that goes into 300 territory. This is it from us, bye, bye,.
