In today's video we're going to compare the new 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab, a versus the 8-inch version with s-pen, which came out last year, and I'll leave a link in the description below with current pricing and more information on each of the tablets covered in this video. So if you're looking for an 8 inch, android tablet. In my opinion, these are the two best options available right now. Having said that, I am getting the eight-inch Lenovo tablet sometime this week, so my opinion could change after that. So these two tablets are so similar. We might as well start off with which have the better speakers, and in this category there is a clear winner.
They both sound pretty much the same while watching movies or listening to music. But then, once you turn on the Dolby Atmos on the 8.4 inch version, you'll hear a big difference. It's almost like the sound is amplified to a louder overall volume. Now the 8-inch version also has Dolby Atmos, but for some reason it wouldn't allow me to use it. Unless I was using headphones or a Bluetooth device, I would go with the 8.4, but if you always use headphones, then it doesn't really matter they're, both pretty good for a small tablet. Anyways another difference, and this one was quite a bit different for some reason was the battery life between these two.
I'm not sure why it was that big of a difference, but when I did a battery drain test and brightness at 100 percent, while streaming video, the 8.4 inch lasted a whole two hours longer than the 8-inch version. So I'm not sure if it was downloading stuff in the background or what but keep in mind, I never actually use these devices at full brightness because it would definitely hurt my eyes doing pretty much anything, although that could be because I'm on a computer pretty much all day long. But if you want the better battery life between these two tablets, the 8.4 inch did last about six and a half to seven hours before dying in my battery drain test. One category that these two tablets are pretty much the same, in is camera quality, sure they're. Both worse than just about every cell phone that I've used, but if you're going to be outdoors or in a really well-lit room, they'll, probably be fine for something like a zoo meeting where you don't want people to see all of your imperfections early in the morning and for outdoor photography.
These two tablets are definitely acceptable, but again you should definitely be using your cell phone because the quality is going to be much better. Both of these tablets are perfect choices. They both use balanced graphics with medium frame rates on PUBG mobile, and I really like gaming on both of them they're easy to handle because of their size. Although I do feel the 8-inch version is a little easier to handle because it's a little skinnier, and it has a really nice soft touch material on the back, which makes it feel so much better than just about every other device I've used. So in this case, you can't go wrong with either tablet for gaming.
They both can handle all the games that I tested on them without any choppiness. Something I normally don't do is a geek bench test on both of these tablets and to no surprise they were pretty much identical in performance. The 8.4 inch is a little faster on the multi-core scores, but I really don't think you're going to notice a difference. Both of these tablets are good in performance for the price you pay and then, when it comes to which has the better screen or display. Both of these look perfect in person with great viewing angles, on both you'll notice on the corners they're more rounded, on the 8.4 inch. Maybe it looks a little more modern that way, I guess so, whether you're on Netflix or on YouTube they're, both full HD resolution, but I really like both tablets as far as resolution and just overall experience.
So as you can see, there's a lot of similarities in these two tablets and even after doing this direct comparison, it's still a hard decision for me to pick between these two. On the one hand, I love the texture on the back of the 8-inch version, not to mention you actually get an s pen to use for drawing or taking notes, but you get a little better battery life on the 8.4 inch version with a slightly larger screen, probably more updates in the future, since it is one year newer. So with that said, if I had to choose between these two perfect tablets, I know this will surprise you I'd probably go with the older 8 inches with s pen version, and I don't even use an s pen that often so, if you've made it this far into the video you may want to say thanks by subscribing and don't forget, to give a thumbs up.
