Welcome back everyone, Samsung Galaxy s21 has just officially come out, so let's go ahead and compare it to not really its older brother, but in a way kind of is the Samsung Galaxy s10 now what's funny is that the s10e and the s21 were kind of like in the same ballpark in terms of price tag, I think when the s10 first came out, it was like 749 or something the Samsung Galaxy. S21 is 7.99 right now, and this is like the flagship device which is so crazy. Now I'll go ahead and find the cheapest ones of both. Of these that I'll find links will be down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time now side by side. You can definitely tell that overall, the s21 is the bigger phone. I don't even know what happened here.
The s21 is the bigger phone in every dimension. On the Samsung Galaxy s10i, we had a 5.8 inch panel AMOLED display very, very good panel on here. The Samsung Galaxy s21 has a little of a bigger 6.2 inch, dynamic, AMOLED display, and even that's so funny, they both have the same. You know resolution the PPI is actually lower on the galaxy s21, which is kind of funny, but the craziest thing is that, even though they have the same resolution, I will still have to give the edge to the Samsung Galaxy s21, mostly because it does have that 120 hertz refresh rate had it not had that that's a whole different topic, but because this one has a 120 hertz refresh rate, it automatically makes it a big. You know better display than the s10e, but I'll definitely tell you.
The Samsung Galaxy s10s display is still really, really good for the most part, and I really don't have that many complaints when it comes down to it now on the bottom. Both of them have USB type c. The Galaxy S10 does have a headphone jack, though, which is really cool, but, most importantly, I think, even more importantly than that is that the Samsung Galaxy s10 actually still has a micro SD card slot, which is really, really interesting. The know, galaxy s21 doesn't have that and that in and of itself does kind of suck I'm not going to lie. I wish the s10e.
I wish the s21 had that capability. Unfortunately, it doesn't, but on top of that, when you look at the back, the Samsung Galaxy s21 has a plastic bag. You know on the outside, which is just insane. The Galaxy S7 has a glass back, which makes it feel that much more premium in and of itself, and again it just comes down to this phone, the s10 being so timeless. In so many ways the s21 is the better phone for sure, but I'm still so shocked by how good of a job Samsung did with the s10a so long ago.
So in terms of the outside, you still have like wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging, all that good stuff, but definitely when it comes down to this specific aspect, the Samsung Galaxy s10i is surprisingly awesome as well, so that pretty much covers it up in the outside department, but there's an even bigger difference, which I think this is probably the biggest difference between these two phones. Even more than performance, or even more than anything else, and it's probably the software update life cycle. So, as most of you know, the Samsung Galaxy s10 didn't come out last year came out in 2019 and thankfully, as far as we know it is getting. You know it did get an extra version of software, which that in and of itself is another really awesome thing that Samsung they didn't have to do it, but they did do it in a way they kind of had to do it.
They were kind of running short on it, but we did get an extra year of software updates on the s10, so that in and of itself is another really, really good thing about this phone. But the kind of sad thing is: is that because the s21 is a newer device, it's going to be outlasting the Samsung Galaxy s10 in and of itself, so this phone is going to be lasting at least two years longer in stock software support. You can't really custom ROM this thing, so it's going to be lasting longer than the Galaxy S10e. So take that, as you will, in my opinion, that is kind of a big deal. I want a phone, that's going to be getting the latest and greatest software and going to have the most amount of improvements and stuff, and I'll tell you.
The s21 is going to be that type of device you're going to be getting a longer lasting phone from here. So all those features we're going to be getting on android 13, 14 15, whichever one this one's ends off with we're, not going to necessarily be getting it on the s10e. So keep that in mind this one is going to be ending off at android 12 and this one's probably going to be ending off at android 15. If Samsung doesn't upgrade the lifecycle again and give this one an extra year of support which they may do. You know we really don't know, so that is a pretty big deal in and of itself now kind of going in the same vein.
The battery life between these two devices is also something that's worth noting I mean the Galaxy S10 surprisingly, I don't know why Samsung just balled out with this phone, so crazily, but the Galaxy S10e has a 3100 mill power battery inside it, but it's still a really, really good battery life, like I'm actually shocked by how good of a job Samsung did with the galaxy s10s battery life with the s21, a beautiful you know, battery life as well, four thousand million powers. This one is going to theoretically outlast this one but, like I said before, I'm still shocked by how good of a job Samsung did on the galaxy s21 for sure. So in terms of that, that's probably one of the bigger aspects you know and difference the battery life, definitely the s21 wins, but the SNE is still good, but the software quality the s21 wins. Here too, I mean that's probably the biggest difference, as I stated so that really pretty much covers it up. Now, let's go ahead and do a little of a speed comparison between both these phones.
Now again, a little of an older phone here, I don't know why that keeps happening. Galaxy S10e had that Qualcomm snapdragon 855 chipsets, with six gigabytes of ram and eight gigs of ram on the top tier model with a Samsung Galaxy s, 21 has that snapdragon 888 chipsets with eight gigabytes of ram, so let's go and see which one is the faster phone between both of these okay welcome back I mean this is the best we got right now. This lighting is awful, but it's the only thing we can do. Hopefully it looks a little better now, but let's go and get into it. Let's do phone calls three two one and about the same on both not a know, ginormous difference messages, three, two one pretty much the same thing going on for both camera three two one and pretty much the same thing going on here, too swiping out.
I can definitely see. Hopefully you guys can see over the display as well the smoothness between both phones, but the galaxy s21, I think, is the smoother one. Galaxy store three two ones. I think the s21 here is the faster one for sure play store three two one again: Samsung Galaxy s21 for sure was the faster one sweeping through or sliding through. I don't know scrolling through, I meant to say I think.
Ultimately, maybe the s21 was the smoother. Actually, the s10 looked pretty smooth too I'm not really to sure here, but both of them are pretty smooth when it comes down to that. As always, I have a bunch of these third-party apps. We can get into let's go ahead and get into something like Snapchat 3-2-1, and I think the s21 was the faster one there for sure. Let's get into dune 3-2-1, and you can see right there, the s21 definitely did a far better job at kind of loading up the app the s10 did glitch up a little, not like a ginormous big deal, but it is something to keep in mind.
They both have flat displays too, which is, I guess, something. People note snake versus blocks three two one, and I think the galaxy s 21 was a faster one here, too kind of getting into, and it just crashed here randomly, which was very weird, not really to sure why that happened as you can see, it wholly crashed. So I guess we'll just kind of leave that into the test to stack three two one and again s21 was the faster one as to knee, I guess loaded up a little slower. I hate those type of ringtones, they're, so annoying temple run two three two one and again, and maybe the s21 is the winner here, and I think it kind of looks like it actually was almost very, very close to be completely honest and the s21 that I think was the faster one, but it was still very, very close. One didn't necessarily look like it was beating out the other one like in a crazy amount.
Gameplay-Wise they look about the same as well. So not a big difference there, fruit ninja three, two one. Now this game did get an update, so it's kind of screwed up on both, but just locate. Just look at that little animation, opening speed. It was such a big difference.
The Samsung Galaxy s21 was able to open that up extremely fast. The s10 totally glitched up a little, not a big deal, though Quizlet three two ones. This is like two years of difference when it comes down to both of these both a three two one and again the s21 is the faster one I have galaxy. S10 is a little slower. Let's go and do twitter three two one and again the s21 is the faster one.
I don't think I have paper Io 3d, but I mean ultimately, I can even get into the ram management test, but the galaxy s21 is for sure the faster one here that was a given. You know as soon as I booted up both these phones. I kind of was expecting that and that's honestly what I saw that stunning is still actually pretty fast too. I don't really think it was a ginormous difference, though I think when it came down to the know, animation, speeds and stuff, that's kind of what I saw the bigger difference that the animation speed were overall kind of faster on the s21 overall. But that's sunny, I think, did a perfect job too.
So, in terms of that that covers up the speed comparison, let's go and hit on the cameras. Now, on the back, we had a dual camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy s10i, a 12, megapixel, wide angle lens and a 16 megapixel ultrawide sensor with the Samsung Galaxy s21 had a 12, megapixel wide angle, lens 64, megapixel, telephoto lens, then a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor. Now, definitely as always, when it comes down to the UI on both, I never really noticed that big of a difference, obviously the biggest difference. We can shoot 8k videos on the Samsung Galaxy s21 when the s10e only 4k at 60, which is still more than enough. I have to be honest.
It's still more than enough for a lot of people, but in terms of the UIs they kind of have the same exact thing going on, not really a ginormous difference, same features and everything you just are getting that extra telephoto lens on the s21 when the s10, you know only that dual camera setup now I've said this for a while, and I'll. Just I guess I'll continue saying it. The Galaxy S10e still has an perfect camera. This is like awful lighting that I'm in, but overall I had a perfect time with the Samsung Galaxy s9 for sure I just increased the ISO. Just because of that, because this camera is so beautiful any time I took any photos or videos, I've done I've done literally so many photo and video comparisons between these things, if you just type in my channel name and then this phone name you'll see like a ton of them and overall, this camera was really, really good.
However, Samsung Galaxy s, 21's camera overall, I think, is the better option here: you're going to be getting you're going to be future proofing yourself by quite a bit just because of that additional you know telephoto lens, but on top of that because you have the 4k 860. That is another really cool feature that we have on the galaxy s, 21 that we don't necessarily have on a lot of other devices. So that's a pretty cool thing, your pretty much going to be future proofing yourself. There too. So that's another huge thing! You have to keep in mind so when it comes down to the camera, the Samsung Galaxy s21 and definitely wins for sure, it's probably the biggest difference between a lot of these older phones and the s21.
So now to kind of sum up this whole entire video and say answer the question: should you go and buy a Samsung Galaxy s10e, or should you go and buy a galaxy s21? Well, this kind of answers itself, but I'll still tell you with a phone like a s10 you're, not really getting like a super outdated ugly phone, like this phone. Still has a lot of capability you're still supported with software for the time being yeah it might not. Last as long as the s21, but you're still getting a very long supported phone, this life cycle on this device, it's going to be outrageous, you're going to be getting a super, long supported device for the most part. But again, when you look at something like the galaxy s21, it is kind of hard to compete, but there's still a lot of advantages. You still have the micro SD card slot glass on the back, but other than that the s21 would probably be the one I'm going for and probably recommending to a lot more people you're getting, obviously even but even more than that you're getting the fingerprint sensor in the display, which is great you're, getting things like 8k capability on the back, a much better camera.
I think on s21 and, like I said before, I think if everything was the same it'd be like, I think, for if the s10 was getting the extra versions of software, I would honestly not recommend people's update, but within a year or two from now the s10 is going to be the one that's probably going to be lasting much longer than a lot of others. The biggest thing here is a software. You know what I mean like. If the sunny was getting extra years of software support, then that's great. I would recommend the s10, but because that's not necessarily the case.
The galaxy s21 is the device. I would probably recommend everyone to pick up, especially when it comes down to these two. So for the time being, the SNE is great. If you own it keep it, I would not recommend updating, but if you are in the middle, and you want to kind of update, but more importantly, if you don't have either one of these probably getting. The s21 is going to feature proof yourself, the longest.
So when it comes down to that, that pretty much covers it up.
