Samsung Galaxy S21 Real-World Test (Camera Comparison, Battery Test, & Vlog)

Morning another day, another wearable test today we're doing it on the baby of the s21 series, the s21, no ultra, no plus just s21. Now, if you're not familiar with Tessa's channel, is where I'm going to use this phone as my actual device. My sim card's in I'm going to use all the same apps that I always do throughout the day. Um we'll also take photos on it and some of its competitors and put those on the screen. So you guys can check that out, and I'll check in on the battery throughout the day, to just kind of see how that's doing. I also clarify a little confusion that we had in a past video um.

Whenever I'm recording video from the phone, you will see a little of text here that tells you such otherwise it's coming from my regular camera, just so we're clear, but with all that out of the way, first things. First, thank you. Coffee check now, uh real, quick. Let's talk about the styling of the phone and, firstly, this color is giving me serious, Thanos vibes. Honestly, this is the smallest galaxy right now and even though it still has a 6.2-inch screen, so it's not small coming from the iPhone pro max and then the s21 ultra, which I did a video on that I'll link to below. If you want to check that out, it does feel tiny by comparison.

The screen by the way is flat instead of curved like it is on the ultra, which I know a lot of you prefer, since it means less accidental touches. I will say, though, that the ultra screen is less curved than normal and, like most of Samsung's latest phones do that because they know about the accidental touches and when I was using the ultra. I didn't really have any, so that's kind of good, but I do still understand why you guys, like flat screens. It also just feels good. The back is a plastic, but it's got this matte look and like a texture to it.

That makes it feel better than like plastic. Should I also just love that, instead of trying to hide the camera bump, Samsung has now kind of embraced it and even kind of made it part of the design like a conscious decision, and you can see that with this two-tone look on some models also for them, marketing-wise, it kind of makes the phone instantly recognizable from afar as well? Also, I forgot to mention this in my ultra rear wheel test, but the fingerprint sensor in here, which is an under display one, it's the ultrasonic one from Qualcomm, but it's like their next generation- is a lot snappier than it used to be so that's great. Okay. So lately I've been trying to do these real world tests, where I explore a little more with you guys like we have done in the past, but of course right now, because of COVID-19 traveling doesn't really seem like a great idea. So in this video I think we're going to explore New York city a little more, just like we did in the ultra video wow welcome to Wall Street, which is believed to have got its name from it.

Being the northernmost wall of the Dutch settlement called new Amsterdam back in the 17th century, probably checks out spoiler alert, though it didn't stop the British, regardless, though it's now an eight block street near the southern tip of Manhattan, where the famous financial hub of the United States, the New York stock exchange, sits it's also the home of this young lady who you might have also seen her name, is fearless girl, and she was commissioned by a stock index of gender. Diverse companies who have a relatively high percentage of women in senior positions, and she's meant to encourage other companies to recruit women to their boards. Her original location, though, was over here in front of another. Very famous bronze sculpture called charging bull, but after the original artist kind of complained that she changed the meaning of his art. By being here, they moved her to her new location in front of the stock exchange.

A few blocks away. We have the battery, which is a small park at the tip of Manhattan. That, in the 17th century, is where the Dutch had fort Amsterdam, which spoiler alert also didn't keep out. The British, the British turned into their own fort and built an artillery battery here as well. Hence, where the park gets its name.

I like this park, though it's uh, just like a nice juxtaposition to all the financial buildings all around here and the skyscrapers beyond that, it's just kind of a cool place to watch the sunset with you know a silhouette of lady liberty in the foreground, and it's also probably a good place to talk about the cameras on this phone. So we have three cameras on the back, an ultra-wide, a main and a three times optical telephoto lens, which, as I've said in the past, I appreciate, since I've always felt like two times doesn't seem like it's that different from the main camera. For me, three starts to hell. We also have a digital zoom up to 30 times, but, as with most of these phones, it's more of a novelty than something I would personally want to take many photos with. In addition to that, though, we also can record in up to 8k and 24 frames, a second and 4k up to 60 frames.

A second just like the more expensive s21 ultra, and we also have the same director's view to see previews of each of the rear cameras and choose from them by tapping on them, which is cool, but it only does the front and one rear at a time, and they're combined instead of multiple at once, like film pro on the iPhone does, which to me is more useful, but not something I'd use a terrible amount regardless. So it's fine. Lastly, we also have single take as well as on the ultra, which lets you shoot a 10-second video. The phone then uses AI to create a bunch of short clips from plus photos from the multiple lenses etc. Again, I personally don't think I'd use this very much, but, as some people pointed out, the last video might be good for some rambunctious children.

Okay, before we leave here, let's check on the battery, we actually haven't done that yet today it is 5:34 p. m, and we are at 41, and now I think we should head north of here and find dinner. It's always really exciting. When you get an electric one and a quick bike ride later we're in Chinatown, I actually want to come up here because there's a restaurant that I really like- and I kind of wanted to see you know how it's doing during covet and maybe get some dumplings from them. But speaking of all that um check out these lanterns.

These are actually part of the light up Chinatown initiative, and it was started here basically to take donations, to try to help a lot of the businesses in Chinatown, which was extremely hit by coven, more so than a lot of other neighborhoods. So each one of those represents a donation. Some of them even have names on them, and they're actually trying to extend this and do another street as well I'll, actually leave a link below to the new like GoFundMe that they have going. If anyone is curious about that, but yeah kind of cute right, this guy decided he didn't want to go onto the bridge, so now he's making everyone behind him back up dummy. Thank you very much have a good one bye whenever you order, and they give you multiple utensils, because they think it's more than just you give her a sec.

I got word because I went to where I remember the restaurant being, and it was not there, but it turns out that they actually moved from the tiny alley that they were in around the corner to a larger spot. So it's all good, and it seems like they're doing take out only now during COVID-19, which makes sense um. So I just had to get the one thing that I always have to get when I come to this restaurant and that's their pork soup dumplings now, if you're not familiar they're dumplings with pork soup inside them, and even though they're in a takeout container and a few came broken they're, just as good as I remember, and now that I just tore through two orders of dumplings by myself. Let's check into the battery, it is 7 23 p. m, and we are at 25 his here for David yeah, yeah, alrighty foreign, so turn on the living room.

Okay, calling in a night it is 9:15 p. m, and we are at 10 and here's my screen on time and my usage for anyone who's curious about that and, as usual, I left all the settings on default. So the screen's refresh rate was sent to 120 hertz adaptive, which means that it adapts from 10 hertz all the way up to 120, based on what you're doing on the screen automatically. The brightness was set to auto all the normal things that it does when it comes out of the box, regardless of the battery life um. Thinking about this phone there's just something kind of interesting in it, which is the fact that this s21 is as near as makes no difference identical to the s20.

Like cameras screen battery size, all of its identical, so it doesn't seem like Samsung really did anything other than like. I, like the design a little better, but other than that doesn't seem like they really did anything to improve upon the s20, except for one thing, which is the fact that the phone starts at 200, less than the s20 did, and so at that point I mean they didn't change anything, but they lowered the price. So yeah, I don't know you guys tell me. Let me know in the comments below what you think of the s21. Also, this video of the format always trying to improve the series and always appreciate hearing from you guys.

Otherwise, though, if you liked this video, please thumb up it or share, it's greatly appreciated, also check out the rest of the channel. If you like what you see there, please subscribe and ding the bell next to subscribe, so you get notified when I do new videos as always, though, regardless thanks for watching.
